The temptations get so much credit an is always regarded as the greatest, that other groups get placed in the background, like The Chi-Lites, The Dramatics, The Delfonics, The Intruders, The Stylistics, The Manhattans, The Moments, Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, The Spinners, Blue Magic, and others. They had great sounds and classics too. Thanks to shows like Unsung, it gave these groups a spotlight to tell their story and make them popular again and thanks to RUclips as well. The Chilites need to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for real.
You listed every single one of the groups I grew up listening to. What was wonderful about that time period is that there was room for EVERYONE to do their own thing. And they could ALL sing their butts off. There was no auto-tune, no lip syncing on TV when they got on a show - they all sang live. They were classy, had their dance moves, and did REAL harmony. There was no electronic assistance from a harmonizer device - these people really sang. And I loved them ALL!
The Chi-lites should be in the rock and roll hall of Fame just for "Have You Seen Her" alone. This is one of the coldest and saddest songs of the 20th century and of all time. 2nd to none except maybe "Oh Girl".
@@chuckcollins , Wonderful! It certainly would’ve been nicer if it was given when Eugene, Squirrel & Red were alive! Brothers deserved their props decades ago. ❤️❤️❤️
Who ever marked thumbs down clearly does not know what good music is. The peaceful music the good times as Robert" Squirrel" Lester of The Chi lites" once said. Missed that time by age, but love it now just the same.
Been part of my life's soundtrack almost 50 years. Always a welcome listen. The meanings changed as I went from 17 on. Got better and better and still sounds fresh. Timeless very good music
So glad we were blessed with classic soulful music from those days. It brings back so many great memories. Sad we’ll never get music like this again I’m an old skool fan forever! ❤️🥰
I love the Temptations and all the groups that was mentioned. But the Chi-lites steals my heart. I listen to them regularly and my favorite is Coldest Day Of My Life, and It's time for love, Have You Seen Her?. I love every song they sing and will always cherish every group. Forever.
August 24th: Happy birthday R&B-Soul Singer Marshall Thompson (79)-Vocal Group Hall of Fame, Rhythm & Blues Foundation, Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame. Thank you and God bless. Thank yo, chuckcollins for the upload of this beautiful classic....and Flip Wilson Show, no less. Blessings....#keeprockin'...
@ Chuck Collins : Reminding us of a more innocent past ... That's so true ... I remember those old happiness and this song is the bright colors of those happiness.
@@sallykirk9831 WRONG! I knew Marshall & his cousin that was a police officer & he didn't wear a wig Plus his fro wasn't as bi as mine. Never assume it always ends up badly!
Sally Kirk , Sorry. No wigs back then. Black men & women’s source of pride was to sport REAL Afros. No fake shit like today’s. Marshall & all of ‘em had thick healthy hair. I’ve seen them & other groups many times back in the early 70s. They were the Real Deal. Hair curled up & rolled up. Afros were washed, oiled (greased) Bush-Combed & “pick”-out & sometimes packed down. They’d come out on stage in full Afros, performed & sweated. They even let us “pat” their ‘Fros while giving autographs. 🎶💕🥰
Man, These cats were not only good, they were great!! Them , the Stylistics, Delfonics, I could go on naming groups but I would take up a whole page . We use to have the best music of all times. Just my opinion.

Eugene Record ❤ The Chi- Lites.
THOSE COLLARS ! omg...LOL.... wow...and ya gotta love the big L monogram. wow.
I was looking at the big L then noticed the bigger C enclosing it to stand for ChiLites (C L)!
I once when to a prom back in the day with an outfit with collars like that!
Look again. That’s an outer C, with a smaller L, within the C. NICE!
