We need these type of songs, music hasn't been the same in years. No heart and soul in it anymore. Just words that are repeated and promote nothing I want to listen to. This brings back all the days that we didn't realize how good the music and life were at the time. ☮🎶💙

Not about the songs of today , talking about hurting somebody but songs decalaring your feelings and love .. These are the songs when you didn't know what to say to your girl but the music could say it for you !

Dan b We want ever get this type of music again because we want have this type of people again....People like the Stylistics are extinct...These type of men dont exist anymore...These men appreciated a woman and could not wait til Fri. Or Sat. To go out on a date with the woman they love...Now some men want men....Its an abomination to God and to His Holy word...(written by Valerie White).

Not only was Chi-Lites lead singer Eugene Record an outstanding vocalist, but (unlike most vocal groups) he wrote and produced their hits, including this 1972 US Billboard #1 single. As well as "Have You Seen Her" and "Stoned Out of My Mind." And he really had a knack for writing and producing exquisite tearjerkers ("The Coldest Days Of My Life," "A Letter To Myself"). Few people know his name but he was an extraordinary talent (he died in 2005). I always knew "Oh Girl" would stand the test of time. It's an absolute classic. (Also, The Chi-Lites are from Chicago, they are not a Motown group)

This song was the first one I asked a girl to dance to at my first grade 9 high school dance. When she said yes I think I looked like a deer caught in headlights. Sandy was her name and she had deep hazel brown eyes, dark curly hair, and the sweetest quiet voice. We went to a couple of movies after that but her parents put a stop to it because she was "too young". They moved away the next year and that was the last time I ever saw her. Thanks for the fun memories, Sandra.

You know, in 40 - 50 years today's kids will be saying the same thing in regard to "their" music. Two things that you can't argue about are somebody's love for music and somebody's love for fashion. There is no way to prove them wrong and convince them. You're better off trying to appreciate what it is or just keeping quiet.

I agree, a massive outpouring of art and talent occurred during that period. I was fortunate to grow up in such a time. I remember waiting for the new hit songs and / or albums that seemed to keep coming and coming. Younger generations don't understand, they did not experience it.
