It's a shame that they are not savey enough to figure out that if they came out with an aftermarket finger protector for the Premiun, which has got to be the most popular model sold, they could make a fortune. I'm sure it could retail for under $20. Anyway thanks for your prompt reply and "Grill On"👍
serious question , does anyone have any information on how to remove rust from a weber , then what is the best way to go about spot painting that chipped rusted area on the weber , a lot of the older kettles that one comes across have rust spots on them , im not looking at making the enamel look new again , i just want to make sure that the rust does not get worse or starts working under the enamel , thank yuo for your time .
I was hoping to see one like my parents received in 1949. Spun metal much heavier than today and legs were heavy metal welded to the kettle. Stood in rain and snow for more than 20 years not covered. Todays are junk by comparison.
Your parents' grill sounds interesting! Weber wasn't established until 1952ish and the legs weren't ever welded to the kettle - unless your parents had an earlier weber bros prototype or something
This seems like a cool event. I'd like to go one day if it ever moved to somewhere bigger and less private. I honestly don't have a Weber grill. Is it worth it to restore one of the older ones if I happened upon one?
I'm working on one right now. It came to me in terrible condition, but it was free. It's fun, and then you'll have a nice old school kettle to grill delicious food on. Does that sound worth it to you?
Did the cops stay and eat also? I would start a big wood fire about sundown to get my coals for dutch oven cooking and grill smoking...ohhhmy here comes the fire for. Had sausage so I fed them. Enjoyed have fun. Mark/Waco
Do not understand why Weber did not put the black rubber protector on the top vent control like they do on the Master Touch and why the temp gauge is opposite the top vent, where as you get a false temp reading while using the kettle as a smoker. Do you know?
Good questions Steven. I'm not sure about the changes to the vent and temp placements - I can only assume it was done purely for packing/manufacturing. I don't have ANY of the new grills (yet) for exactly those reasons.
I agree it seems pretty dumb not to add the rubber protector on all the vents for the new Weber. I found some online and now have them on all of my Weber grills, the Smokey Joe, the Jumbo Joe, and the Performer. I heard the temp gauge is opposite the vents now because they figured, if you smoke on the kettle, you would bank the coals to each side of the grill and place meat in the middle. I thought about adding a second temp gauge to have one in both places.
I the video when they are showing the one corner reserved for the guy with the most pristine collection, he has a 26 in something that has never been produced. I need to know exactly what it said he sound like a Baloo? Blue? I have one but is in very poor shape and missing the legs. I had no idea that it was a Weber and just use the for a fire pit with some sort of makeshift bottom I can send pictures if needed!!! I need to research this cuz I don't want to now restore it
What a cool group of people, man. There is a club for everything!
@Lincoln Fernando wtf dude? Has nothing to do with this, but ok. you're a creep. got it.
Vintage kettles and vintage dressed women would make an awesome calendar!
Recently purchased a 1953-1955 Weber kettle from a garage sale in north Texas as my second kettle I think it may have started an itch haha
U know it’s good when they have zeppelin
and the funny thing they all Works just fine
Lots n lots of love
GREAT JOB! Next meetup I would love to hear the historian focus on the evolution of the gas grills. I have a Q 120 and I LOVE IT!!
Great video. I have a 1989 Weber one touch in red but the handles are a little worse for wear.
Damn, I am going to have to attend one of those someday!
2018 will be another epic meetup I'm sure. There's also several west coast meetups and an east coast one as well!
Love your vape reviews as well
Thanks Sean!! Both started as side hustles, but the vape review thing became full-time :)
Awesome Event!
This is so cool, I work at the factory in Huntley, I'll have to check this out one year
Wow this is so cool! Never knew a club existed. We have a Smokey Joe Weber.
Awesome y'all
I would love to contribute to this community. This is fantastic!
Going out side to rebuild a curb find Weber kettle as soon as this video is over : )
I'm getting into it Troy. Thinking back to the kettles I've let go and wondering what I was thinking.
Wish there was something in San Diego
I'm in Orange County now, lets get something going for SOCAL
Looking forward to meeting you August 11, 2018 at Brian’s!! #GrillOn!
Definitely! See you then!
I love grills but dang this is passionate on another level.
i think they have the first weber kettle propane grill from the 70s there
Epic.
I hope you guys are still doing this, invite Tom Horsman, he's got around 50 kettles in his collection.

Would liked to have seen the 1980s kettles.

When is the next one?? 2021??
In this collection were there any offset Smokey Joe Weber table tops there with the offset handle?
Yes, several
Where and when is the west coast meeting? I want to attend. Do I need to join?
I need an ash catcher for my weber. One that is notched. Thanks
Why did the police arrive ??
When is the 2018- Weber Kettle Club meet?? and where??
August 11, Elgin IL
Is this meet up still a thing?
It is. Community members host meetups in multiple locations throughout the year. The Chicago meetup happened a couple of months ago
When is next meetup?
Were the police invited?
Did the cops stay and eat also?
I would start a big wood fire about sundown to get my coals for dutch oven cooking and grill smoking...ohhhmy here comes the fire for. Had sausage so I fed them.

Why'd the police show up?
Who calls the cops on the weber kettle club?
edstar83 idiots and Karens because they hate people having fun
Wow so many comments have been purged. That's messing with internet history. Not cool.

The kettle at the 430 mark
the never-produced grill was a Blue 26". That size grill was never sold in that color.
Since then I have figured out the answer to my question. It was the Weber outdoor fireplace
@@Wildeagle9962 ahhhh ok. those are cool units. no longer made
@@Weberkettleclub I can still get parts for mine through weber.
Lol I would bring my Weber but I use random poles to hold it up. But guess what? I still can smoke ribs on it like a boss
Jeff...
0:50. Webber and Led Zeppelin!
Love that 69 model
Sorry that we missed what? You made the video, just show the event. Don't put a dumb slight comment in.
"don't put a dumb slight comment in" yourself
Oh wow !! This is cool. But there’s no way this is actually Chicago lol
It’s got to be a far suburb.
Yeah no one in chicago has room for more than 3 grills in their backyard, haha
