And it's such a relief to hear the glorious melody without the clawing sentimentality of the corny popular words (not original to the tune, by the way) getting in the way. He arranged it for wordless choir. This is a very good adaptation for brass band. Gorgeous.

I agree with you, I've always preferred when this is played by brass. I think the ''heartfelt'' vocal cheese just doesn't compare.
