This is "Largo" performed by The international Staff Band. This track features on the ISB's album entitled "Together", produced with Universal Music and released 24th November 2008. "Together was nominated in the Classical BRIT's NS&I Album of the Year 2009 category which included the top 10 selling classical albums of 2008." (information taken from their website)
This is a very popular song with beautiful lyrics:
1. Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
2. Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I'd be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
3. There let the way appear, steps unto heaven;
all that thou sendest me, in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
4. Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise,
out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
so by my woes to be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
5. Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

This is a hymn for those staring directly into the face of imminent death, afraid but courageous, because of their hope in Christ and the promise of eternal life near to God.
All I can say is thank you and God Bless.
Better than good
It Glorified the Lord and draws us closer to God.

This was played at my grandfathers funeral. As he was my great example, it was very emotional and still is when I'm reminded of him.
This was my choice for my mams funeral,20 years down the line,i still cry, R.I.P. Sadie Armstrong, my adored mam x
My Notts hat off to you, Geordie. Well done for being the Big Man about your Mam in these shite times.
God Bless you .Prayers for your tender care.
Rest in peace Sadie 😔
I feel for you lost every day and I'm praying for you to strength to carry on but remember the good times you had with her and treasure all the laughter you have with her
God bless you prayer for your loving tender and care 🙏☹️☹️💔💔☹️☹️
Most people seem to think of the Titanic when they hear this. I rather imagine a small Yorkshire town amongst rolling dales, a light rain falling, smoke rising from chimneys as people make their way to Chapel on a Sunday afternoon sometime in 1916, knowing many of their sons will never come home.
I agree, WWI
Rest in peace all fallend People in WWI
amen
It's kinda a myth that it was played on the Titanic. Many claimed it did tho.
@@benoosthoek Yes witnesses were divided apparently. Some said the band only played ragtime music.
Live the way you picture it.so peaceful
Most graceful song.
Beautifully played. I used to play this with a large Wind Band in Switzerland some 50 or so years ago. Plenty of Memories!
The roll at 1:45 is the most beautiful part of the entire song... 😭😭😭 Music is the best expression of human emotion... and there is something about this piece that never ceases to break one to tears...
Me too always makes me cry but it's alright to feel sad just to let your emotions out
I love the moving horn part at 1:20.

Well done, Nutty. Love to the Booty Bandies from a Pongo whose stepdad was a Booty Rupert from the ranks.
You've taken me back to my youth as a SA Officers kid...spent with cornet then alto horn in SA bands throughout the Central Territory...thank you for reminding me what is important...
Merci beaucoup beaucoup
I love this arrangement and all the moving parts. Gets me very emotional.
Me too very emotional music
@@chrismaskell5702 Here I listen to this song again after losing two brothers in five days of each other. My eyes are leaking again. I love the moving harmony parts. In turn they move me.
Music is God's way of comforting our souls in times of sorrow and despair..He touches our hearts and lifts the heavy burden from our shoulders, His is the light that will forever shine inside those who receive His imense love..always 'till the end of days..when He will return for His children and thus will begin the never ending life besides our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, our Eternal Father..Amen!
With god all things are possible

this is nice wedding song its stunning
beautiful song
Why does this song bring tears to people's eyes seemingly more than others? Wallace Hartley the leader of the band is buried in Colne, Lancashire under a wonderfully carved headstone.
Because it was sung as the Titanic sank
Music has a way of evoking emotion in people. No one can explain it or understand why. It just happens. Music changes people. It unites and separates. It kills and gives birth to new things. New ideas, new people... Music above all has and always will be the one thing that holds us together through it all. Even now, as I sit here and type this, I’m in tears. I can feel the pain and anguish that was felt by those past and feel the relief after a hard life as they walk towards God. Even if you’re not musical, it still seems to touch us in a way that we may never understand.
@@ZusuBee I agree. We all saw that scene plenty times and it was wonderfully done. The impact of this movie should not be underestimated. Some of the tracks in the film are among the most beautiful music in the world. Whoever could keep it dry during the scene where the poor people tucked their children into bed while the water was flowing through the door, doesn't have a heart. It was the most touching scene in the entire movie.
Hauntingly beautiful
true.
Outstanding tones - truly brilliant simple message played to perfection

Precioso. Me suscribo. Un saludo desde España.
After busting my teeth and finding my then 54-year long career as a trumpet player/cornetist absolutely ruined? I took a year off. Then in late 2019 I started playing on a completely new embouchure. Albeit finally using the correct embouchure.
Just this past Saturday I got the solo in the above piece in a local concert band. I felt flattered to get an opportunity to play the solo. Since after all, I am a beginner once again. However, I've simply lost a few notes off the top end of the horn. That and sometimes feel a bit less sure of myself. In my younger days, I was a powerful lead trumpet player who rarely missed a note.
As the above tune progressed, I found myself utilizing a mild vibrato or tremolo almost exactly like the one that the soloist here displays. Since Classical music isn't my main area of expertise, I was pleased to discover that this professional group was playing in a similar manner. A vibrato ought to be a natural one that grows organically out of the context. I do not practice it. In fact when practicing at home, I almost always sustain straight, unwavering pitches.
However in such a somber mood as is characteristic of this famous hymm? A natural vibrato is almost necessary. It almost might sound weird if it wasn't used. If we listen to the soloist we'll note that he starts the tone off even in pitch but accentuates the waver only towards the end of the pitch's duration. This is not only the perfect way to employ a vibrato, but helps to blend a tone in with any potentially weak intonation coming from the group around the soloist.
All of the great trumpets employed vibrato, but not excessively. And while not a Classically aligned musician, it was Maynard, the high note King who employed it best. Although Doc was pretty good at it too.
What you need to understand, not that it changes what you're saying much, is that the soloist here is playing a cornet-likely a Yamaha. No trumpets in SA bands, only beautifully mellow cornets.
1:45 😍😍
Gentlemen, it has been a privilege playing with you tonight

whenever i hear this song i think of the titanic and all of the people that night
God not dead
amen calvary evangelical church sings this too
Rip titanic after 108 years at the bottom of the ocean you will still be remembered as a great ship tip the titanic and all of its unfortunate passengers among them there great captain Edward John smith this story will never die and will stick with us all of ours live rip the titanic passengers
Obviously not a great ship and captain. They got absolutely spanked by that iceberg!
Morro Barry the captain actually had nothing to do with the sinking at qll
@@mattsmainline3020 true but as the captain he still takes some of the responsibility
The captain wasn’t even on the birdge when it hit
I wonder if they would have played this on the empress of Ireland before it sank 🕯️
i am sorry to here about that alpha wolf my heart and huggs go out to you
RIP my son : Angelo Petrus Winarso Putra 😇😘🙏🏻
Apparently CNN has a video they're supposed to play if the world ends. It's this.

You cant beat a Salvation Army Brass Band
i listen to this song and my brother comes in asking what is that loud noise and i said music and when he left he farted. All i wanted to do was enjoy this awesome song
Ben loves the Salvation Army
I wanna know what actually version sound like during that night
mgm boy watch a night to remember it’s basically what actually happened it was made in 57 and was a book and the is told by the people on the titanic .
Just want to know who else came from tik tok to hear this song bc some guy said that in cnn the footage of a marching band playing this song was leaked and that the video of the marching band was used only for when the last alive employee at cnn could play the tape wich would mean that the world is gonna end
Hello, where can I buy music sheet of this from?
Not only played on the Titanic - this song was played by Confederate Brass bands as the survivors of Pickett's charge returned to Seminary Ridge at Gettysburg......
Makes me think of Pearl Harbor
When the earth is gonna end POV ME:calls saitama
A wonderful rendition by the The Salvation army band. Could we get the Sheet music of this arrangement by any chance?
Gan I get the sheet please?
Was it the Salvation army band playing in the Titanic?
Well no, the official musicians on crew made up a string ensemble plus piano so it's unlikely. Maybe a few passengers had brass instruments. If a ship went down today they'd probably be singing 'agadoo' in the kareoke lounge.
The Army band was on board & played this as the ship went down.
@@eileenmuir8237 No, it was not. The only SA band involved in a sinking tragedy was aboard the Empress of Ireland in the St Lawrence Seaway in 1914. Since the collision that sank her occurred after 2am, and the ship sank in less than 15 minutes, no one had time to play anything...
In immoral Eva Weichenberger
Imagine being about to die and the band leader is like "Okay fellas, let's play the most boring song anyone has ever heard in their entire lives. Make sure to leave em begging for death." Like damn, this is how it's gonna end, huh? On hold with AllState
Beautiful
