This cult unfortunately has a way of creating a problem that doesn’t exist, and then offering the “solution”. As you talk about so often, they create hardship for their members. Then the members turn to this sort of propaganda for comfort. I remember feeling burnt out and stressed while within the organization, much the same as the “sister” depicted in this video. As a fully indoctrinated Witness, upon watching this, I would have thought something along the lines of: “Oh wow! How timely and much needed.” Safe to say I no longer lose sleep over how much time and energy I am devoting to serving an organization.

Let me tell you that my first husband was a moral man.

Individuals who become involved in religious cults may fail to recognize certain aspects or exhibit cognitive blind spots due to the influence of the group and its leaders. Here are 10 things that people in religious cults often fail to see:
Manipulative tactics: Cult members may not recognize the psychological manipulation or coercive persuasion techniques used by the group's leaders to control and indoctrinate followers.
Exploitation: They might be unaware of the extent to which they are being exploited for their time, labor, money, or other resources to serve the interests of the group or its leader.
Loss of individuality: Members may not realize how their identity, autonomy, and personal values have been subsumed by the group's ideology and demands.
Suppression of critical thinking: Cult members may not recognize that their ability to question, doubt, or critically analyze the group's beliefs and practices has been systematically suppressed.
Groupthink: They might not see the dynamics of groupthink at play, whereby dissenting opinions are discouraged, and conformity is rewarded, leading to poor decision-making and a lack of independent thought.
Confirmation bias: Members may fail to see how they actively seek information that supports their beliefs while dismissing any contradictory evidence as false or irrelevant.
Damage to relationships: They might not fully acknowledge the harm caused to their relationships with friends, family, or romantic partners as a result of their involvement in the cult.
Emotional harm: Cult members may not recognize the emotional and psychological damage caused by the group's practices, such as shaming, guilt-tripping, or public humiliation.
False promises: They might be unable to see that the group's promises of salvation, enlightenment, or personal fulfillment are unlikely to materialize and may be used as a means of control.
Difficulty leaving: Members may not fully comprehend the challenges they will face in leaving the group, such as the loss of social support, feelings of guilt or shame, and potential repercussions from the group or its members.
Awareness of these issues can be crucial for individuals seeking to support friends or loved ones who are involved in or attempting to leave a religious cult. Providing a non-judgmental and empathetic environment can help facilitate open and honest conversations about the individual's experiences and concerns.

If anyone is thinking about Kingdom Hall crashing during the memorial, obviously I can't tell you what to do but please keep in mind that hall crashing only reinforces the negative stereotypes that are given to us by the GB. This will drive members closer to the cult. It will make you feel better probably but that's all it will do. You may prevent someone from leaving who was on the fence. Try to sew seeds of doubt rather than try to break the magic spell by spewing facts at them.

'Were they drinking more or less than Tony Morris?' Very funny! 😂 I'll just say that it was very traumatizing growing up in this cult. It's so uncomfortable being a young girl having to talk to 4 grown men about what i did with my boyfriend. I've done it, and this, along with so many other things, has had lasting effects on me. I'm still dealing with the traumas 11 years after leaving it. So many suffer from low self-esteem including myself.

That opening dramatization was so painful to watch. I struggled with severe anxiety related to undiagnosed autism from early childhood onward. I kept hoping at some point they'd show her seeing a mental health professional in order to help her reach her goal (as much as I may disagree with said goal) but no...just endless scriptures and "spiritual activity". Reminded me so much of my time as a JW. I was born into it and didn't get to develop proper coping skills until well into adulthood as a result. In that dramatization, I saw a depiction of someone supposedly suffering from a genuine mental health issue and receiving absolutely no realistic help for it, which tbh 100% tracks with my experience within the cult as a kid and young teen. Hate to see them encouraging the same self-neglect and repression that I felt all those years ago.
Also, if "Jehovah only expects what I can do" then why was I forced to go door to door when I could barely speak from anxiety induced mutism and subsequently scolded by an elder when I froze up at the door and said nothing? These videos they put out are so full of shit it's almost comical.

I've mentioned being a funeral director before, in your comment section. So, as the "resident expert" I'd like to confirm:
Creating manipulative propaganda of a man actually dying of CANCER, who is home on HOSPICE, with a very limited time to spend with his actual family, is severely sociopathic and one of the most inhumane things I have ever witnessed on this channel.
I cannot believe they didn't consider making this a dramatization or adapted story, and instead went balls-to-the-wall insane and literally sucked the last bit of life out of him for their own satisfaction.
Then hearing the implications that this tragedy was used to manipulate that man's mother into joining the cult of emotional vampires that sacrificed her son...
I've seriously never been so baffled and insulted.
(Definitely not trying to minimize the other horrors this organization has committed, I just see grief from loss every day, and this is NOT normal or healthy)

    So.
    Much.
    Worse.
The music reminds me of the kind of poppy Christian folk rock crap that we used to reject as "worldly" in the 20th Century. That would be fine if the organization were evolving to become more mainstream, but it isn't.
The GB are using the internet to create cults of personality. The "talks" are even more mindless and banal than they used to be.
And, worst of all, sexual predators used the "don't ask don't tell" environment of this religion to seek victims...and the organization did NOTHING to stop them.

Remarkable how it's constantly said that Jehovah only wants us to do what we are able to, however in reality you are treated by the members according to "how much" you do how seen you are in the congregation, help is only offered if you are considered "worthy" and the moment you aren't able to be "exemplary" you are soft shunned even if it's due to severe health or financial reasons, I've been the victim multiple times, the kingdom hall is literally less than a block away, and since having had a massive pulmonary embolism and serious health issues, I've asked the elders and anyone who took time to "check" in (more for the gossip of course), I would say I'm really not doing well, could I get help to doctor's maybe a meal or two, help me with my shopping ECT, only one couple gave me a lift to the doctor's, the rest couldn't care less, but come time for the elders to report to the circuit overseer, then suddenly some scripture's need to come and be ready, I've declined multiple times, stating directly that there is no point in them coming to read me scripture they aren't applying, for Jesus said, " what does it help you saying to your brother be blessed and become full, yet you do not offer them something to eat, or become warm, but do not offer them something to wear. So I said when you ACTUALLY display the love you so preach then you are welcome at my home.

Just goes to show the Borg hypocrisy and saying one thing but the reality is opposite. Same thing when I was growing up; in the first congregation I was exposed to, most of the elders and their wives were partiers and exhibited a great fondness for their alcohol. You’re so right, Lloyd, about allowing young people to make mistakes in order to learn from them. My daughter (who I did not raise as a JW) got drunk once while with friends on a trip and the aftermath, the hangover, was so bad she has never wanted to get drunk again. 😂 Allowing your kids to make their own choices teaches them more than any highly restrictive religious leaders can, which in my case and many of my ex-JW friends, had the opposite effect. At 27, my daughter is so much wiser than I was.

Also why is it also assumed that everyone that is out, are miserable? I was miserable in, always feeling unworthy, always feeling excluded, never good enough, unwelcome. I'm much more at peace in my heart, even though I do have deppresive episodes but it's because off life's difficulties, the added stress of always having to be careful off even making a joke which would conveniently always " offend" some elders wife, has at least been relieved, I certainly still believe in God even His name however the God I read about in the Bible and how it's applied in the org is very different.

as former ministerial servant it's now absurd to think about how many people have a double life in the "truth". For instance violent video games i used to play only with jw friends and going out and being so drunk. Things none of us had any regrets and now most of them are elders. I'm disfellowshipped for confessing my sins of sexual immortality. Life is fun.

Oh is this video suppose to make active JW feel better when anxious & depressed? they need to go to licensed expert therapist not uneducated elders. Umm but I guess all kinds of things can help. the US and world is focusing on mentally illness since so many troubled people around .I knew many sister who took psych meds when a active JW. Oh well people do what they need. this is strange cause JW elders or mothers of the abused children will not report the mental illness of sex abused children by a man in their KH to the authorities.Hiding CSA is not a good idea for any organization.; but it happens many places. Those sex preverts need help ..ugh messing with children.

    Hi Lloyd!
I understand what you are saying but I don’t fully agree, which is ok.
I see it from a different angle.
This lady with the baby obviously cannot devote the time she wants to to the watchtower because her baby commands all of her time. Doing both will leave her even more physically drained. So in a way the two ladies helping her are asking her to look within herself and be realistic and kind to herself. Jehovah only expects what SHE can do, not what she CAN’T do, because of the constraints of her child.
But of course, I’m living in a dream world here. You know the watchtower far better than me in that they don’t give a crap about what anyone has going on in their lives other than that they are devoting every waking hour to WT.
Ps. How do I contact you if I want a question answered privately?
I loved when you fell asleep😂. Thanks Lloyd ❤

Looking on the outside, faith seems like an insane thing to have. It's like throwing logic all out the window to believe and follow something with no concrete proof but a book with outrages stories written by men.

The example of that first lady, was to make other JWs feel bad because realistically most people in the group don't put themselves through that type of stress, and as we all know, nothing is ever enough for the GB.

Speaking of MIC. 6:8. Your right they did change it for this reason in the Watchtower February 2016 [Study] p26 in paragraph 2 - David understood what loyalty to God involves. He had no intention of harming Saul. Why not? Because Saul was God’s anointed king over Israel. Loyal servants of Jehovah respect those whom he appoints. Indeed, Jehovah requires that all of his people “cherish loyalty.”-Read Micah 6:8.
    Crazy.
