You guys did great rescuing her and giving her a family to be with. Dogs are mostly pack animals. She is happier in a pack than wandering alone, begging for food and guessing if there is going to be danger ahead her path. YOU GUYS DID GREAT RESCUING HER!
She's home now, and that's all that counts. I have two Texas rescues. My oldest on is about 4. He was struck by a car, and his femur head was crushed. He also had heartworm. He had his femur head removed and went through that horrible heartworm treatment. He is doing so well and is the most loving dog ever. Thank you for rescuing, sweet CiCi. Rescue dogs have so much love to give!
I'm from Toronto Canada and also have a Texas rescue. Fostered her just before covid hit us and then brought her with me to Bermuda when I got a job out here. It's just the two of us and we are loving life and I couldn't imagine not having her now.

Bit of an ignorant comment… you hit the nail on the head… it’s easy to have a romantic idea of how living in a place like that might be… the reality is vastly different for these poor animals.. CiCi looks very happy with her choice to me 🥰🙏🐾
Having rescued 20 pitties in the time I was sentenced to Texas while my husband was stationed there and putting 13 of them through heartworm treatment, I'm here to testify to how horrible that is. 6 weeks in a crate after the 2 injections of arsenic into their spines in a 24 hour period....6 weeks of confinement for a dog that is a naturally athletic and exuberant, wiggling, package of expressive joy, nothing but short 5-10 minute walks to potty, no jumping, no barking, no playing, no running... nothing that causes their pulse to race because you don't know how many of those damn parasites they have in them and any exertion could cause a mass of those dead worms to break loose and kill them.....and seeing those dogs before treatment if they had those parasites for a long time...their natural sleek beauty missing, their coats dull and brittle, eyes dull, strength sapped, watch them tired, suddenly laying down, no energy, heads hanging, no appetite, no ability to enjoy their lives or even being cuddled No you stupid a$$es...she does not miss being a stray dog, no matter her beautiful surroundings.... A pittie is a natural born love machine that belongs with it's human, being spoiled, cuddled, displaying it's crazy capacity to whirl, jump, twist, stretch, do doga (dog yoga), talk, sing and emote at it's 1000 watt capacity. End of Story

I have a little Rescue, Buddy Holly. He was kept locked in a Kennel his whole first year of his life. He was adraid of EVERYTHING. He's been with me and my Son for 13 months, he's now spoiled rotten. He loves Car rides, toys, lots of food and snacks and FREEDOM!!!
