Really the only way they could release this overseas is if they translated all of the untranslated games, but considering how they completely remade some of the games to give less lag and stuff, that could be fully possible -- be it a Steam Mod or hopefully just a flat-out release.
Nice to see that the game has updated versions that remove some of the issues that plagued the original releases such as slowdown and sprite flicker. Wish the Famicom games were translated in English, but oh well.

Is this the same game as the limited run game double dragon and river city collection that was put out a couple months ago? I ordered that one and was wondering if this was different other than the name
If that was the case I'd pick it up! But since these games received fan translations this collection seems pretty pointless for those who can't read Japanese.
I just bought this today and was so disappointed when I found out all the Japanese titles weren’t translated. Would have been such a great collection otherwise.
Weird to see Renegade's title screen were nothing but empty space in the bottom of the title wall. It's not suprising. But I wish ASW doing a proper localization of this beat-em-up legend series.
Just got this today and the input lag is absolutely atrocious and I'm really disappointed. A little bit is to be expected, but this is way too much. The versions of the games on the Switch online service don't have as much lag, so I find it inexcusable.
@@Koops2245 Well I sold my copy. Also worth noting that the version that came out on the US eShop is possibly different and theoretically could have improved the delay, but I don't care enough to buy it and find out.
It may be simple, it may be janky, the AI may be unfair and bullshit at times but Nekketsu hockey is still somewhat fun to this day. Edit: what's the story on Double Dragon being part of this collection? It has ties to the Kunio-series (I never knew)?
Perhaps you good people at the Contra Network, can inform me if this game is in fact getting released in the U.S eshop any time soon or if at all? I really want to get this game, but will hold off spending about $60 if it comes out here eventually. i haven't been able to find any real confirmation about this anywhere.

Hmm. If I don't hear anything about this game coming out by Christmas; I may just get it digitally. The price is roughly $3.33 a game since there are 18 games on this , which are all really good games IMO anyway. Are the games that only came out in Japan; playable in English?
the game is supposed to have a Steam version too, so probably it will have an official american release for the other platforms, however, taking into account that the game was announced around 1 year ago and this version doesnt have translation for the famicom games, i must ask: why bother? they had a lot of time to translate those games and they didnt. which is even more frustrating considering they translated everything else, hopefully the delay for the steam release (supposedly it was gonna release the same day for all plats) mean that they are working on translation for the famicom games.
@@Marvin06260 The PS4/Xbox One versions have the Famicom games translated? And if this does come out here be it just Steam or all platforms it will take a while, most Kunio games released here lately take a couple years after the Japanese release
WOW I wish i had bought this instead of double dragon 1 & 2 separately via arcade archives.. this has online play yes? And 15 extra games. It was 21 AUD to buy the two DD games so if i spent 40 more i'd have had all these and physical too, as well as DD3. Oh well. I honestly want to learn Japanese just for import gaming (including on my Saturn and PS). I think I might do that. I used to be fluent in Chinese (mandarin) and even won class awards over the Chinese students LOL.. so I am pretty decent with languages.. I am pretty sure I could do it.

You could always buy this so you could legally use the translated roms in an NES emulator.. Most J SNES and NES games have english patches these days.
Kunio and Riki for smash
Yes and the finishing move with barf
yes!! either only Kunio and Riki, or make it be like Hero and have it be Kunio, Riki, Billy, and Jimmy

Throw in Abobo as well
I’d rather have the River City Girls.

No slowdown? it looks like a dream.
Can someone explain to me why Super Double Dragon isn't a part of this collection? 🤔
From what I can tell, this collection is based solely on the famicom era of the series, unless it has any other SNES game which I don't think it does
Yes, these are all obviously 8bit generation games.
kunio series is Original material of GTA
