We started feeling sad for you long before that. It started years ago when those police murdering people videos started to appear on RUclips. That's when we started to realize how flawed the US actually were. Of course now we know a lot more about how undemocratic the system is.
As a european, i don't think I know anyone who feels sad for america but instead feels upset for minorities and now know for sure we never want to travel there.

When Biden says this isn't America, he means that he wishes US citizens to culturally believe that the US represents something better, so that we will vote for something better. You're of course also right that "This is America". We do have these deep problems. Politics needs to address the reality as well as the shared vision, and we're doing badly on the reality.

Lol mate I'm french and even in your best days in US your democracy is one of the worst . No update since 1776 or almost . The electoral college is sooo bad , out of the last 6 presidential elections the candidate with the less votes won 3 ... You do gerrymandering wich is illegal in europe because it's not fair. Your politics get money from lobby wich would be seen as bribe in Europe ( because they are ! ) . You have only two political party ( not so far from china or russia ) wich don't give you a lot of options and you hate each other so much ( wearing a mask in the US is a political statement 🤦 ) , when I watch a debate in the USA it's only " he is a radical leftist " " you are corrupt " and so on, in Europe debate are about our policy , how and what the candidate would do to better our society and some trash talk but like 10% not 100% ... In us you vote all your life for one party and see the other one as devil , while I changed already twice in 10 years ( there is like 20 party in France ) and I'm not sure who I'm going to vote next. I'm waiting to see the programs before choosing . And one thing maybe you will find not good in Europe is that we don't elect our judges , policeman , sherifs ... But I would not want us to elect them because I think theses jobs should not be about politic and bias . I don't want my judge to be from my political party or not , I don't care, I just want him to be fair and respect the law, Justice is blind not from a political party. Same for policeman ( plus the way you elect is very bad as said earlier: lobby, political affiliation ... ) In Europe if you want to be a judge or policeman or anything you just have to study , pass the test and that's it. And if you'r good you'll rank up quicker . It's about merit not friendship , money and add on TV ... But yeah I'm sure in the US you see yourself as the greatest democracy . You are so full of it lol . And France is far from being the best democracy either ( scandinavia are the best in europe i'd say ) . I know you were talking about Irak , Venezuela or places like that but I wanted you to know that even before that sad day your democracy was already in a very bad shape, and Europe, Canada , Japan , ... Every other nation "civilised" don't take exemple on the US for democracy . I love America btw , I just wished she was as good/fair as in my american dream from when I was a kid . Love from France anyway and I'm telling you this as a friend who want you to improve not a mean critic .
So glad I live in America where I can laud my notionalism over others, because I agree some humans truly are superior, but I don't have to pretend to be socialist.

@2 0 "They need us" 👍 Believe it or not the rest of the world isn't entirely dependent on the USA and rely on the US for everything imaginable. Economies are the most reliant on the USA due to the sheer size of the US economy but China is easily taking that spot. And then a lot of countries weren't reliant on the USA anyway. Military. NATO would be weaker but still strong, it'll still contain some of the strongest militaries in the world. But a lot of countries aren't in NATO and are fine. Other countries have nukes as well, not as much but when compared to Russia everybody has less nukes. Standard of living is higher in a lot of countries (European) and also cheaper. Health care and benefits are accessible for the general populace without the need of being a millionaire. (I know health insurance but the USA still spends more than other western industrialised nations for a lower life expectancy. Can't really comment on other parts of the world.) And various other sections of life other countries do better and therefore aren't reliant on the USA. The world did exist before 1776.

Oh this is straight up embarrassing. World leaders of other countries needing to make a statement about democracy when the US is normally the one that makes statements about democracy
Lol, Democracy has it's Origins in Ancient Greece and the democracy you practice was brought to the States by Europeans. Trust me when I say the World is just fine and doesn't need any statements by Americans, just the opposite in fact, you're the laughing stock of the World
Lol mate I'm french and even in your best days in US your democracy is one of the worst .

Believe it or not the rest of the world isn't entirely dependent on the USA and rely on the US for everything imaginable.
Can't really comment on other parts of the world.)
And various other sections of life other countries do better and therefore aren't reliant on the USA. The world did exist before 1776.
