DJI Mavic 2 Pro Crash. My Experience with DJI Service.

  • It finally happened - I crashed my drone bad enough to need professional repair. So what now? After trying numerous local options, I ended up shipping my Mavic 2 Pro drone to DJI Service for repair. In this video I'll talk about how I crashed my drone, share a tip on how to possibly avoid further damage, and outline the DJI Service process and how it went for me. Enjoy!

    I'm a new member of the DJI owner club (OSMO Action Cameras). This really underscores that I made the right decision in buying their products versus the competitors. It also makes me think that a drone may be nearer in my future than I previously considered. Thanks Matt for sharing your excellent experience! First hand feedback really helps me make my buying decisions!

      Thanks Chip! I also have a DJI Osmo Action - their tiny action cam - and it's awesome. The DJI products that I have, and have worked with, all seem to have a level of thought put into them that I just don't see with other manufacturers. From button placement to software UI, wireless integration, everything just works. Its sad that's so rare these days. Have a good one, thanks for watching!

      I wish I could say my experience with my Ronin 3 Pro Combo was as smooth. I had a bad motherboard in mine - that died on a job - and the process was definitely frustrating even though I had the protection in place.

    Very helpful video. Thank you. I crashed my Mavic Pro 2 and one of the arms is tweaked. Only has about 10 uses.

      @@DJISupportGlobal Ha - its no problem at all. I have a long standing disgust with UPS. From stolen packages, to packages not delivered that I was still charged for... they're just pathetic. You guys are the tops!

      I have a long-standing and very deep disgust for UPS. Blatant theft, lost packages with little or no customer support, and their absurd franchise business model that allows corporate to not have to deal with problems - one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with.     Just crashed my Air 2... I got the UPS shipping label but no paper to put inside the box with the drone?? Is that normal?

    Hi Matt , I had a similar problem too , my Mavic Pro crashed into a 🎄 tree and the only way to get it down was to climb as far as I could up that tree and then shake the hell out of that limb and it fell to the ground and damaged the Bird , breaking the front right arm and damaging the camera , seems like the most damages happen when they hit the ground . I got close enough to see that it was in perfect condition but the tree was a big tall one and at the end of a cliff by the gully and I was going any further up that Limb , I like my Drones but I like Me better , take care Matt .

      I had a subsequent tree encounter that left my drone 54 feet up. I had to get my tree-service worker nephew to come and sling a rope over the limb and shake it loose. Needless to say, it did not survive the fall. Fortunately I'd sprung for the Care/Refresh package the second time around.

    My Dji air 2s had to rth and hit a tree lol just sent it to Texas

    Did u have care refresh or it had already expired when u crashed it and they did extend it for u ? And what was the total cost

      As I said toward the end of the video, I did not have coverage but that they offered it to me after the incident.

      @@sujithsatish000 around 300 USD for the repairs. The gimbal and one of the landing gear arms had to be replaced.

    How much did it cost to repair your drone?

      I had the protection plan. On my first crash, I think it was around 130 USD. The second time around, they had to replace my aircraft... that was closer to $300. They send you a repair quote before doing the work so if you decide its too much you can decline the repair.
