You can have free curry sauce or mushy peas thrown in. The guy in charge of frying makes his batter the day before and is about 70+ years old. He is really old school and loves his job. About 13+ years ago I visited Egremont, Cumbria and had cod and chips in the small High Street. The cod was twice the depth of this one but not as wide and similar in length, same style of chips, yet only around £5 or £6. It was to die for 👍
I noticed that its probably machine filleted . For a fish that length it should have being twice as thick as that . Dont want to sound negativve, still looks nice . See a lot of this machine filleted fish , frozen on board the boats . Seems a waste .

What a generous meal! It all looked delicious, although I do love a wedge of lemon with my fish as well. Also loved the vintage teapot and the fact that they gave you a proper fish knife.
That looks very nice, making my mouth water. Recently went to Padstow and visited Rick Stein's chip shop, the fish was'nt that big , but everything was cooked to order and it was probably the best cod and chips i have ever tasted. That said, that would happily go down a treat from how you have described it.... :)

I had the giant Cornish pasty from Philps bakery Cornwall around four years ago. Judging by the video it was approximately the same length of the haddock and cost £25 at the time. This meal is definitely worth the price comparatively.
Looks amazing but I would always go for cod - I prefer the much bigger flakes of fish that fall away when cod is cooked well. Haddock is OK but is generally a thinner piece and the flakes much finer. This was a huge piece though!
