daily delivery from Billingsgate Fish Market. They open at 5pm and close when they run out of fish. As you can imagine t try here always a queue to get served. The prices obviously differ. Large or small portions, Skate is expensive by chippy standards. But a large Cod or Haddock and chips comes in at around £8, Huss comes in at around £6.50. On a Friday ? About 13+ years ago I visited Egremont, Cumbria and had cod and chips in the small High Street. The cod was twice the depth of this one but not as wide and similar in length, same style of chips, yet only around £5 or £6. It was to die for 👍
I noticed that its probably machine filleted . For a fish that length it should have being twice as thick as that . Dont want to sound negativve, still looks nice . See a lot of this machine filleted fish , frozen on board the boats . Seems a waste .

Lovely crispy batter to fish certainly the largest I've ever seen generous size portions with everything! I had the giant Cornish pasty from Philps bakery Cornwall around four years ago. Judging by the video it was approximately the same length of the haddock and cost £25 at the time. This meal is definitely worth the price comparatively.
😮😂The only thing missing was oval shaped plates to accommodate the fish so it wasn't hanging over the edges! 3 slices of bread too and 2 or 3 cups of tea. Really that was 2 meals in one. Order it and go halves with a mate. 😋
Looks amazing but I would always go for cod - I prefer the much bigger flakes of fish that fall away when cod is cooked well. Haddock is OK but is generally a thinner piece and the flakes much finer. This was a huge piece though!
