I have both, they compliment eachother wonderfully. They are also close to the best prime combo of lenses FF shooters use, 35 and 85, well 40 and 80, but close enough. But if you had to choose one, i would have to pick the 24mm, as its smaller, making your body easy to carry in a bag, the 2.8 is good enough (unless you are shooting after sundown) Even then, i mainly shoot the 24 between 5.6 and 8. The 50 is sharper stopped down, i shoot at 2.8 with it, and i love it, but its very restrictive, unless you shoot mainly portraits. 50mm 1.8 > great low light lens, good portrait lens, better bokeh, restrictive 80 equivalent. 24mm 2.8> Wide, focusing distance of just 15 centimeters (somewhat macro ''capable'') Compact, sexy! Maybe a 40 2.8 will the the middle ground, i haven't tried it, but ppl say its sharper than both of those two lenses. I would recommend the 24mm 2.8 + a vintage 50mm fast prime with an adapter, like the old Pentax takumar lenses, they are up to par when it comes to optics, and in some aspects even better, with great contrast and wonderful bokeh. the down side is, that they are manual focused, but for portrait work that does not matter at all.

Change the thumbnail to showing the lenses not an angel. This deserves more views than that "art of image" channel that annoyingly ranks but its just a guy taking about cameras.
@ Rajiv kumar - Hi Rajiv, Thanks for the Insight my friend. However i do think there is crop factor applied even with efs lenses. To me, This 24mm stm is not wide enough as 24mm on full frame. But it's true that full frame [EF] lenses are more cropped in as compared to APSE [EFS] lenses on Crop sensor cameras. But i will test it again as soon as i get a full frame camera again to check. Cheers Rajiv.
@@jitheshsivadasan Yes bro I'm just confused as i have a 80d with crop . The efs lenses are made specially to provide wide field of view or you can say to counter the crop problem they invented efs series. But i have seen many channels are adding that crop to efs lenses that isn't right. Just use a crop sensor camera and use a efs lens maybe 18-55 and dial about 50mm approximately. And use a ef 50mm lens on full frame sensor and you can compare . Let me know afterwards I'm waiting.
@@jitheshsivadasan ok i got the answer as i said an efs lens will give same field of view as written on the lens, like if efs 18 55 is set to 50mm it gonna give 50mm field of view. Most people multiplying efs focal length with crop 1.6x that is incorrect.
@@DiscoverRajivVlogs - Hi Rajiv, Just wanted to let you know that I had a chance to check field of view (not focal length) on full frame and micro four thirds. You are right about the focal length of the lens is the same as written on it. If it's ef or efs, a 24mm is 24mm. But as I said the crop factor in crop sensor cameras still apply and changes field of view (not focal length again). Because it's incamera sensor crop. It doesn't change with any lens. But as long as we are not moving full frame, it doesn't matter. Efs 24mm is not compatible with full frame anyway. I did try a Nikon fx lens 24-70 @ 24mm on Nikon full frame D800 and it's obviously wider than Canon efs 24mm stm in 760D Body. Just to experiment I tried crop factor on MFT Olympus (2x crop factor Vs 1.6 on Canon). I used Olympus17mm (34mm FOV) against Canon 24mm efs. Well 17mm gave wider FOV. Anyway I am so thankful to your comment which encouraged me to do more experiments on crop factor. I think it's probably better not to be concerned about all these and to enjoy Photography more. All the best for your Photography Journey Rajiv..

@ kalamare100 - Hello There, Thanks a lot for your encouraging comment. I am so glad that you found the video useful. All the best !!
it will be better if you use that with people, not with objects... anyway i like the vídeo :v
@ Mousin Oficial - Hello Mousin, Thanks a lot for your kind words and You are right about people as subject. But since i am a one man band i had to use objects. But i will surely keep this in mind for future. All the best !!
Change the thumbnail to showing the lenses not an angel. This deserves more views than that "art of image" channel that annoyingly ranks but its just a guy taking about cameras.
@ Edge of David - Hello There, Thanks a lot. I am happy to know that this video is helpful. All the Best !!
It's 24mm efs so it will be 24mm.
@ Rajiv kumar
- Hi Rajiv, Thanks for the Insight my friend.
@@DiscoverRajivVlogs - Let's see. I use a Canon 760D. 80D is awesome for Video.
Cinematic photo shoot... Bravo
But video unnecessarily made too lengthy
@ ABHISHEK PRASAD
, Hi ABHISHEK, Thanks a lot for your comment. You are right about the video length. I could have made it shorter. I will surely keep this in mind for my upcoming videos. Cheers !!
