I have a 2011 Jetta Sportswagen - a deer ran into my passenger mirror, the whole piece will need to be replaced. I want to know if it is an easy enough part to replace myself? I am not afraid to try. What do you think?
where do i buy a pre painted mirror cap? local VW store says they can order me one but its plain black and that i would have to out source a paint job myself...sounds like a money maker... anyone point me in the right direction?

Great, simple instructions. For what it's worth, on the jetta version, the old piece came off with a chisel...no need for the special tool.
