Cavill was the only redeemable aspect of the show and they axed him. The moment they let him go perfectly encapsulates the show.

Who trashed Cavill for not being Geralt enough? The Director and such. Cavill also hated what they was doing with the series..since he's a huge gamer; especially The Witcher. Good for him!
Not gonna lie, I want them to continue from the Warcraft movie. I know us WoW players since 2005 and Warcraft 1-3 know the story, but seeing it in live action would be cool.
The movie wasn't particularly great and it left a lot of things unexplained. It would be better to just start over.
I'd rather they don't do that. I loved the movie, but I prefer them to do a show. A show suits the lore better than movies. I mean it is a body of LORE. Do we just want pieces? Or a more complete picture for people who aren't familiar? Plus, content can be made quicker if it's animated in 2d-ish style. Kinda like Arcane. I really dislike the art direction on Arcane, but that's just cus I hate league of legends aesthetic. It's so ugly.
The movie was shit.. Dalaran wasn't floating yet. You do know that they planned on having a Tauren in EK in the camp that Thrall was locked up in and gave him the information about Kalimdor. I don't want modern day writers taking something that is already good and putting their own twist on it and end up fucking it up. They need to redo it and keep true to the story that was already told / established. I don't need another Star wars situation.
I personally LOVED the movie. I know it felt underwhelming, but it nailed the aspect of bringing the world of Azeroth to life on the bring screen. Every scene could be identified as an exact location from within the game, while looking 100% realistic. And the CGI & mocap of the Orcs (especially Durotan & Ogrim) was done SOOOO well!
As for the lore, I know some things were changed, but I'm not a staunch purist and quite frankly I can't stand staunch purists. Peter Jackson's LotR trilogy changed a hell of a lot of the story but those are still the greatest films of all times & always will be. Plus, it was 1,000,000x more true to the story & spirit of the source material than most Netflix adaptations. There's a real risk that Netflix will make Arthas & Jaina black nonbinary lesbian lovers in the new show; if/when that happens, more people will respect the 2016 film for portraying the characters properly.
absolutely. Movie covered WC1 well. Starting a series from where it left off would be amazing but also will be confusing to new fans that are series only watchers
They should just start it with the WC3 story. They can always do prequels later on and cover the old stuff. WC3 has the best story line.

If they use the same cg effects in the Warcraft movie im very excited I’d love to see arthas’s story unfold and with Chris Metzen back and hopefully consulting on the series it could be absolutely amazing
personally i think they need to do it like the cinematics. especially the war within cinematic. that would be my vote. it looks so clean

I was one of the people that proposed of making deep dive series of Warcraft Universe starting from the first book and so on im realy glad that its happening.
My biggest wish ever! It would be so easy to implement that story there is so much to see

But i truly want it live action and it would be soooo dope if they actually get on the lvl of lord of the rings/the hobbit/harry potter with a badass director with vision like Guillermo Del Toro! Seeing how Hollywood is right now... i would be concerned about how good it will be. Hire good writers, not diverse writers. If they happen to be diverse, awesome. Hire good actors, not diverse actors. If they happen to be diverse, great. Hire good directors, ones who WILL STICK to lore because they respect it and its fanbase, not diverse directors. If they happen to be diverse, fantastic! We have an issue in modern entertainment that people dont get hired because they are good at their job but because of the color of their skin or nationality and its lead to a lot of awful adaptations. I hope for the best and that good people are hire and the lore is followed closely.

The rich beautiful lore of world of warcraft is nothing short of perfect for an epic netflix series.... but the show creators needs to make it visually astounding like what they did the world of warcraft cinematics... it might be expensive to use the same cgi animation style as the cinematics for the entire series... but it will be totally worth the investment because of the sheer millions of wow fans who live and breathe warcraft... the return on investment could be enormous...

if they made the game with direct references to the netflix series it would be awesome especial if you are playing the game and a pop up tells you to go watch this Ep of the tv show and its a 1hr long ep instead of a 30s cutscene
I remember reading a thread (was deleted) on reddit last year by a user who claimed to be a Blizz employee, they leaked the D4 story 6 months prior to its release with 100% accuracy, and a few weeks ago the same user briefly posted another about how Warcraft stepping into cross overs such as Fortnite and plans for future Movies...who knows, maybe he's right??

I have played WoW for almost 15 years, and I like the movie. If we finally get a crum of the loaf we have waiting for, I won't poop on it. As long as they dont Witcher it I am down for a WOW series.

If they don't fuck it up and get good scripts, it will be a hit in the same vein as Game of Thrones. The story and lore is there for a great series.
As long as Netflix will respect the source it has chance to be good. Sapkowski said in one of his interview that they didnt care about his input and made a lot of stuff against him. Mostly in second season.
I like to have world of warcraft movie, that is made like they did with Lord of rings. The orcs in the 1-3 LOR looked so real. How is it the older are better 😂

Honestly the people/studio who worked on the live action one piece should have some input in helping this show develop. I know anime is a different medium but, it has a lot of similarities. They did a great job utilizing practical effects in an outlandish world. This is only if they went with live action. If not, I hope they utilize their very talented cinematics team.

I love the books but the issue is I haven’t played wrath since I was like 16. I don’t remember what happens. I wish they’d release a second part to each book attributed to xpacs that complete the story and explain what happened in the xpac in great detail
Problem is that they keep retconning nonstop. I bought the chronicles but they were invalidated not so long after..

I think it would have been better to just tell the story from the Human perspective and the Orcs should just be savage monsters until later movies when they discover that the orcs were influenced by the demonic blood and their world was falling apart. They tried making the Orcs the "good" guys and the story had no focus. If the Story just focused on Lothar and Khadgar in the Movie and just showed the savage side of the Horde it would have been better, in my opition.

I think it would be a cool idea to create various combinations of side characters that could represent the players in a series. And they can work along aide the major characters in the animated series.
Perhaps seeing these side characters representing the players will make the players feel more involved in the stories.

The difficulty with a Warcraft movie/series is 1) it cannot be woke, the fan base doesn’t lean that way and 2) it has to be completely accurate to the game. For some reason, these two things seem to be the MOST difficult to overcome for Hollywood

As much of a WoTLK fan I am; I think I would rather see a show centered around Medivh, Khadgar, and Karazhan.
In 2005 there were bodies hanging from trees in Silverpine and Hillsbrad. In Wrath we saw Bolvar chained up above the Lich King’s throne. In 2024 they have the chance to make a badass Warcraft show, but instead it’ll probably be woke!! 😂
The Warcraft movie failed cause it crammed a 3 movie story into 1. If they were gonna do a trilogy the wiffed the first one hard. They cant just pump out a movie the same speed they can a expansion. Hopefully the give the show room to breathe and tell the story the way it deserves to be told. Warcraft 1-3 is primetime good fantasy story telling. And eventually close out Arthas story without the shadowlands retcon BS. I wish blizz would just admit they fucked up and strike shadowlands from the record.

Don’t “oh what ever” leagues lore. Wow maybe a better video game but Runeterea is by far the better fantasy universe with way cooler characters plot lines going on then wow. It’s like not even close either. Like league powers system and setting omg way way more epic
