- these adjustable saddles are a joke and just ruin the sound IMO and this video shows and proves that! the owner couldn't adjust the string action down to where he wanted it so I fixed it another way. if left up to me I'd do away with the entire bridge and saddle and install a Martin type without the adjusting screws and metal slot, it would improve an already good sounding guitar 10X! thanks for viewing!

Great fix. I hate the buzzing that seems to come back from time to time
Always glad to see a post from you Randy 😎
I like hanging out with you Randy even though you never even acknowledge my presence when I do. 😢
Ah but I do! ;) sometimes takes me a while to make my rounds tho. thanks for viewing I do appreciate it!
I've got that same type of guitar in my shop right now. Just had it on the bench this afternoon to see what was wrong with it. Both X braces, a tone bar and half the transverse brace are loose. The bridge was super twisted up under string tension and practically flat with no strings. If I have to lower the saddle I'm gonna shim the neck instead. Just like a tele. Good sounding guitar when you were finish with it.
it makes me wonder if someone was in a hurry for what ever reason when they built these guitars lol like someone once said it was probably finished on a friday and they just wanted to get their weekend started lol thanks Dane!
Nice Job. I'm not a fan of those type saddles, but that looks like a decent guitar.
I don't like them either, it's amazing how good it sounds with this type of bridge and saddle. thanks for having a look!
👍👍👍😊🎸
Hey Randy I got a setup like that on a Old Cortez built like a triple o what kind of bridge would I have to buy to replace that you know what size
measure the old one and try to find one as near to that as you can, or if you make the bridge as I often do you could make it what ever size you need. good luck! and thanks for watching!
Is that guitar for safe?
for sale you mean? not that I know of. thanks for checking it out!
Talk about killing tone. It sounded like you muted the low end with that screwdriver. Shows how the wood top, bridge, and saddle makes a difference on how they are mounted. Try that with a different guitar and see how much the screwdriver stops the vibration between the strings and top.
