He was irreverent in a refreshing way that got him kicked off network TV making him seem like kind of a comic badass. He didn't go along with the narrative. For a while he was the only famous liberal calling out the democrats for being spineless. His movie Religulous was funny too, it's just him going around trolling Zealots. I think that was his peak. Since then he's become really deluded and out of touch so I have no idea who's still listening to him.
