Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks for all your content and advice Dan. Paul
Thanks mate, massively appreciate it as always 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Cant beat a budget estate for usefulness.
Definitely such a handy car to have, multitude of uses.
Always wanted 1 had a mk2 golf but that was the petrol i wouldn't have a modem golf too complicated now these were vws sweet spot.
Yes the 1.9 TDI PD130 really is the sweet spot of VAG 👌🏼👌🏼
Boost leaks can sometimes be found on the intercooler in the wing there is a sensor and the threads can strip causing a leak used araldite on mine to seal . I have had a VW Bora PD130 bought with 90k miles in 2015 now on 175k occasionally it goes into limp mode if you thrash it when cold . Its probably the variable vein turbo . Sprayed some WD40 on the actuator and it happened less . These cars sometimes smoke a little when cold especially in cold weather . Changed glow plugs no change maybe a little oil sitting in the intercooler. Engines are bullet proof pulls far better and more torquey than my 09 golf gt tdi 140 .
Oh yeah the 1.9 PD were always way better than the 2.0 PD from day 1, the torque delivery from the 1.9 is absolutely fantastic.
Got it sorted now was vanes stuck, day of cleaning out and left to soak in WD40 over night, it’s like a new turbo again for £5 bottle of mr muscle and WD40 …. Have a look on my facebook page 👍🏼
Yes it will definitely be suck vanes when cold and it will over boost and cause limp mode, the heat frees them off hence if fine when hot.
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
That will be a good car that when you get the turbo veins sorted out hopefully. The oven cleaner will sort the turbo out and wd40 will sort the actuator out make move better
Yeah it did the trick, runs an absolute treat now with the other bits and bobs I have done.
Not due MOT until October, but going to MOT it tomorrow so it’s sorted
Nice motor pal, I have a pd130 1.9 tdi se, built in Wolfsburg Germany with 230k on the clock. I paid £550 for my motor haha and had it 3 years now. Bostin wagons mate, enjoy it!
Yeah they are fantastic engines the PD130 relentless torque.
Been the estate comes in handy as well.
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
The Golf will be a great daily driver through winter. Looking forward to the update videos once you start working on it, unless you find something else in the meantime 😉
Ha ha the Toyota I had no plans to get rid, I just simply couldn’t refuse the sheer amount of interest in it, especially just to hack it off over the winter with the dogs.
This golf is an absolute cracker, been on all week sorting it all fixed now….. unfortunately due to been so busy at work only had time for few photos and posted them to my facebook page (Car addict garage north east) … just wish youtube had a photo section to add to channel.
Thanks for watching as always mate 👍🏼
I think you can post photos to the community section on the channel. Not sure how it works though, as I only use RUclips to watch videos 😅
Yeah will have to look that one up.
Definitely worth looking at my Facebook page 👍🏼
Brilliant mate, one of VW’s finest engines in that estate, had the GTTDi many moons ago, spooled up quick , rapid car, your right about the revs, should be pulling from about 1500 - 1750 RPM if memory serves me right , the spec looks more like the SE , 6 disc changer, leccy windows x 4 plus AC and wood trims , might have been a demonstrator, good luck finding the boost leak or turbo actuator issue . 👍👍 I also love the all round mud flaps and bonnet strut 👍👍
Yeah it’s all sorted this has definitely been remapped pulls hard from 1200rpm now lol
Yep the PD130 is simply one of the best diesels made ever imo.
Yes it’s a odd spec for sure, I really do like this car drives so good to how it looks.
Going to bang an MoT on tomorrow and it’s sorted, not due till October but just want it done and dusted ready to use 👍🏼
Perfect winter car Dan brilliant those PD engines
Thanks mate, yes the PD are very good
Your money your cars your business Dan. Hope to see more content on this one honest solid no nonsense motor 👍
Yeah that’s how I sort of politely try to put the message over to people lol
Oh I’m over the moon with this golf, now it’s fixed the torque is unbelievable for what it is….. unfortunately with been so busy at work this week not had time for videos, but I have documented everything on my facebook page (car addict garage north east)
Thanks for watching as always mate 👍🏼
I have the same car tdi 130 ASZ 2003 mine is a SE so has cruise control and controls on steering wheel had it for 7 years
Yes you would kind of expect the SE to have the PD130 ASZ, but for the S to have it is unusual
That Corolla moved on quickly..!!! but totally understand why because they are so hard to find…nearly got a Golf estate 130 PD myself in auto, you may remember I asked your opinion about them, but it was gone before I could get to see it….shame as estate and auto was perfect for my needs.
Anyway good luck with yours Dan.
Yeah I just couldn’t refuse the sheer amount of interest I was getting, over 40 people asking me to sell it, for me to refuse that and use it over winter with the dogs in would be a waste of a good car.
This golf is absolutely perfect for my needs, and wow these PD130 are absolutely fantastic, just have to watch the autos they can’t handle the torque and can be problematic.
Thanks for watching as always mate 👍🏼

Astra Van 2.0di (auto ) 100bhp….on 02 plate…any thoughts…wondering about an offer on one.
Cracking engines the 2.0 DI probably DTI on 2002.
Not many auto diesels very rare.
Astra G brilliant know my thoughts on those
Hi Dan. Another great update and no. I didn't expect you to be in the same place with, a different car. In fact I was looking forward to any Toyota updates. Man you don't let the grass grow. 😊😊
Ha ha, I must say in the case of the Toyota I have never been put on the spot with over 40 people asking to buy it or if I was selling, when all I did was post is as my new car….. would have been daft to of refused the offers and kept it as a winter runner for the dogs.
In fairness I changed the calliper and did a full service with Toyota parts and that’s all if needed…. Have a look on my facebook page Car Addict Garage North East
Thanks for watching as always mate 👍🏼
Class m8 I can explain the spec if you drop me a message!
Will do mate 👍🏼
Sure with these late built MK4 estates they were just getting rid of excess stock as the mk5 started production in 2004, as was an all new platform so very little is interchangeable

Thanks
