I own a pair of the Yamaha HS5's for feature film editing with lots of dialogue. They are fantastic. If I build a second edit system, especially one for cutting music videos and commercials, the Adam Audio T5V would be in the running to top my wish list.
You can never go wrong with either of them. Even if you have the best playback device, if you don't use reference tracks or you don't have the ear for mixing and mastering then it will be useless. It's better to train your ears and get used to a certain playback device. There are also plenty of other playback device that you can listen to them for reference. It doesn't matter how bad or good it is as long as you know what a good or bad music sound like in that particular system. Mixing and mastering is just 10% of why people listen to music, it's usually the content of that particular music that matters the most. A crappy song can't be saved by the best mixing and mastering engineer. I think people should focus less on equipment and just grab whatever it is that is affordable and accessible in their situation.

I tested both of them and decided to keep the Yamaha's, cause they have no noticable noise, whereas the Adam's had really disturbing noise, when the music was off. The Yamaha's are very clear and authentic. Adam's are not flat and have too much bass, at least for me. The build quality of the Yamaha's is also much higher.
Hi! Could you elaborate on this statement? I mostly produce for film, so dialogue, ambience and music through each other. This Ofcourse requires mixing but is mostly production. Do you mean with “for mixing” that if one’s focus was only on mixing it’d be better? Since I do both, I’d love to hear your opinion!
This means that the Yamaha projects more mids thus resulting in lack of midrange in your end result of your mix. The Adam's would allow you to boost your mix in midrange thus resulting in a better midrange mix
Imo. I love the Adam T5V sound. Definitely more flat with that low end punch. I’m not big fan of brightness in general. Just something about that flat / low end grunge that does me in. Great video!

The ‘tweeter’ from the ADAM AUDIO T5V isn’t 1 inch. It’s 1.9. For people looking for a great entry level studio monitor, go for the ADAM AUDIO T7V. From the three different models, T5V/T7V/T8V, the T7V is the most balanced frequency wise.
I don't know what lens or camera settings you are using but the speakers are out of focus. You should change the aperture of your lens so you and the speakers are in same focal plane (higher f stop). Just a suggestion.

Put it this way, any monitor that sounds the worst and the flattest is the best Studio monitor I think the Adam sounds too good and that is very misleading when you’re mixing they need to sound bad and flat The goal is to try to get them sound as good as possible on them.
I'd say that for what i need which is mainly electric guitar mixing i would choose the hs5 as it gives me the range i am looking for to make the instrument pop out in the mix when i wont it to. Adams have got a decent enough bass and highs but for the bass I'd either go with a separate sub or directly migrate to a larger device like either of the 2 8 inch ones. Nice vid btw!

House of Say - Be my remedy
Dope content only
Thanks man!!
They sound almost same comparing to hs5 vs rookit
call me stupid, im a newbie, but i think adam audio t5v sound better, with HS5 i will try to crank up more towards low and high ends, which on multimedia speaker or in my car it will sound muddy...
Can we get a comparison video between Kali Lp6 Vs Adam
I was going to get a t5v but the hs5 sound more foreward and real.
Idk why but i like Adam audio in case of 5 inch monitor
Idk why yamaha hs5 so expensive there especially in america, here in indonesia only cost about 271 dollar for a pair.
Wow!!
Because they're built there as far as I remember
