When and where can we get the cat approval badge to add to our website and all advertisements going forward? In all seriousness, what a wonderful video... Thank you for such a thorough description of the monitors and the comparisons to what you've been using. The visual and auditory quality of your videos are top notch!
So far, after watching 173 speaker comparison videos, the cat choosing the winner is the best way of determining which is better. Congratulations Adam Audio! Ordering a pair soon, probably the T7Vs...
I’ve been using my Adam Audio T5Vs since 2020 and they are incredible! Like he said, they are versatile, sound great in any space (I moved 4 times in the last year), built well, and they come with a really nice extended warranty when you register your device. My only recommendation is that if you are interested in buying the Adams (or the Yamahas), the more power your interface has, the better they are going to sound. 👍🏻
Hey man, i was just wondering if these would be good for more of droney type music production (future garage) or or maybe even hip-hop beats & would u recommend it for those kinds of music? And what do you usually use them for?
@@sami_got_vibesHey! Sorry for the late reply. I would say they’ll do great for those genres! The ribbon tweater provide a great detailed sound so that, even in more drone type music, you can still hear everything in the mix. I would suggest spacing the monitors out a little bit if possible to get an even wider soundstage for that kind of music!
@@bren.rHaha, good correction! I mean’t the more power your audio interface can supply to the outputs the better. I found that on lower end interfaces like Focusrite 2i2, it just not powerful enough to handle these speakers so even on max volume, the audio sounds a little thin. I have mine powered by a Mackie Big Knob interface and they sound wonderful!
I know it’s an old vid, but if I wanted a wide range of frequency options, would it be better to get the Yamahas and their subwoofer. Like, I can’t ADD mids to the Adams but I can add bass to the Yamahas…
That’s actually currently what I have set up. Yamahas + a sub. It works great for me. That was the exact logic I used too. I think the Adam’s are good for people that only want the two monitors for everything, but if you want a more accurate representation of the whole frequency spectrum the Yamahas + a sub does a great job of that.
I have been using these to edit my last handful of videos and I absolutely love them for that. Recommendation would definitely stay the same. Actually, for video editing I would 100% go with the T5V over the HS5. Since these do have a bit more low end and high end compared to some other 5 inch monitors I think a lot of video editors would really love these because they are accurate, but also still pleasing to listen to.
since sticking with the t5vs have you seen an improvement or decline in your mix results? Also do you feel the mid sounding freq of the hs5 is overhyped for mixing purposes and that can just me replicated on the t5v with an eq on the master bus?
There not over hyped they are flat just harsh and maybe as 2nd pair just to check the mix I have hs7 tv7 and fostex pmo641 if that correct and I would say the fostex beats them both but the hs7 for mixing yes but they dont sound expensive lol maybe coz I've listen to most speakers from ten grand to £500 and i realised that some speakers arw for different things Yamaha mixing and mixing only i cant get a vibe on them but the Adams make music sound so much more easy to listen to so in my mind you need 3 different pairs
Since I saw you’re still replying to comments on this one, whats your stance on video editing now? I was researching what monitors to get, and so far Ive heard good things about the yamaha’s hs5, jbl 305, rokit g4 5’, and adam t5v, feels like everyone has one of those four but there isn’t much talk about dialogue editing, mostly music
I would go with either Adam or JBL in that instance. Probably Adam. I love the Yamahas for music but for video editing they aren’t as ideal. I absolutely hate Rokit monitors, I don’t recommend them for anything. In my opinion they are a glorified computer speaker posing as monitors. A lot of people get KRK Rokits as their first “monitors” and think they are good, till they eventually graduate to something else.
Hello! On your advice, I also bought this studio speaker, it really sounds very nice... I just noticed one thing, I don't know if you have the same problem, if I turn down the volume, it's at a very, very minimal sound. i can hear the music...why is that? In principle, you should be completely silent, right?
Man I love cats!! and love who love cats! im even more laughing when the cats showed up!! wicked video so entertaining without sacrificing details, specs and info....great stuff!!!
I actually think I’d go with the Adam T5V. I love the Yamahas for mixing mids and highs, but since drums are all over the frequency spectrum I’d go with the Adam Audio because I think it does a better job throughout the frequency range. I have successfully mixed acoustic drums with both, but I prefer the Adams for that now.
I should do a reaction video of him hearing his own purr 😂 He did get to hear the last few KPT play out of these speakers for my last few reviews. He is on my lap 80% of the time I am editing these videos. It seemed like he liked hearing his own purr? 😂
I purchased yamaha hs5 $400 sound great also purchased adam t5v $460 haven't opened the box not sure if keep them both or return the adam audio t5v s 🤔 practice to dj mixing studio apartment ... always going to play music 🎶..
The bass response on the adams are much better than the hs5... I've had the hs5 pair for over 10 years.... got the adam T5V today and can say that listening to them on all types of music is better sounding that the HS5... the HS5s had no bass at all in my opinion and was worried that the adam 5s would be the same.. but they are totally not, the adams have a great bass response and you can hear the sub bass at least, the really low sub bass and the kicks and 808s are amazing for such a small pair of monitors... was going to buy the adam T7Vs today but changed my mind at the last minute and it was a good decision....

I’ll get that Audio Hotline Cat Approved Badge sent right over! 😂
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the kind words and the awesome monitors!!
$200= 3,653.81 why are these R6000 in South Africa
the cat scene you did is like the toy story scene with the soldiers! cool

I like the T5V better than 7 but they were both awesome.

What do you mean more power from your interface? They’re powered speakers.

House and techno are where these monitors really shine. Awesome sound.
4:50 let go ahead and nerd out! lol u cracked me up with this...
It was a very nice review... I thought that you had more subs and views as i jumped into the video but i must tell you this needs more views
For 270€ a pair, i think its the perfect upgrade from my eris 3.5's
What cables do you need to connect T7V to Yamaha Montage?

What would be the best rear config? All in 0db?
Thanks for your insight on these monitors!! And yes, ofcourse I'm deciding by your cats approval ;)

You know Blu (sp?) isn't happy that a KPT isn't being reproduced through these, right?
