An interesting video. In my opinion, each type will have its own use. But I still prefer to use tile roof. It will make the house more airy.

How do I get a smooth sheet tile look metal roof quote (cheaper)? $50k tile roof quote and $65k stone-coated steel quote on same house.

Stone coated steel is a more expensive product but the metal 5v and the standing seam will more than likely be less.

He must be talking about the BS cheap vinyl tile roofs not permitted in most developed countries but heavily used in the US, concrete tile roofs will last 50-100 years.

You raise an interesting point about the durability of concrete tile roofs, which are indeed known for their longevity, often lasting 50-100 years as you mentioned. This is a significant advantage over the less durable and often criticized vinyl tile roofs. However, it's important to note that while the physical lifespan of concrete tile roofs is impressive, their insurance coverage might not extend for the entirety of that period.
Insurance policies for roofs often have limitations and conditions that might not align with the actual lifespan of the materials. In many cases, the coverage period is significantly shorter than the expected durability of the roof. This discrepancy can be due to various factors, such as the insurance company's risk assessment, the policy's terms and conditions, and the evolving standards in roofing materials and construction practices.
Therefore, while choosing a concrete tile roof can be a wise long-term investment in terms of durability and maintenance, homeowners should also consider the insurance aspects. It's advisable to regularly review and understand the terms of their insurance policy, ensuring that it adequately covers their roof for a reasonable portion of its lifespan, and to be prepared for potential out-of-pocket expenses as the roof ages beyond the insurance coverage period.

Agree with looking at insurance. Even though roofs will last a lot longer, if the company decides on a shorter lifespan, you are either having to replace or pay a premium. It’s ridiculous, yes.
