great showing, mate! this is a WAD I haven't played in years, but really enjoyed for its ability to evoke pure, classic DOOM. yours was a solid dissertation on DTWID, and funny to boot!

Honestly I loved the opening to episode 3, fighting a modest 3 imps then seeing 2 cacodemons, one of the stronger demons I've encountered so far, It really paints the picture that this episode is going to be brutal, and that feeling of killing cacos with nothing but a pistol, It made me enjoy the level a lot. E3M1 is one of my favorites from doom

Awesome video. I love DTWID and its numerous spin-offs, with NEIS being my personal favorite wad. I’m actually of the opinion that E1 is the weakest showing from DTWID: there’s nothing intrinsically wrong with any of the levels, but they just feel like a collection of Romero tropes without the mojo that E1 had. The other episodes allow for greater creativity and the results really shine. E2M4 may be my favorite of the bunch: the level genuinely had me scared while playing it the first time.
Thanks for the kind words! NEIS is definitely on my (long) list, so I'll have to sit down and give it a proper play at some point. And yeah I definitely can't ignore my Romero-esque tech base bias.

Thank you! Some source ports have it as a built-in option you can enable. In my case in Nugget Doom it's under: Setup > Status Bar / HUD > Widget Appearance > Smooth Health/Armor Count.

Why are the numbers smoothly changing when they take damage and get health and armor?
It's a feature of the source port I'm using (Nugget Doom) labelled in the options as 'Smooth Health/Armor Count'. Pretty nifty!
