This was canned when the death animation for npcs were replaced with insta-burning ragdolls. -The photo of a sculpted model of an unused female demon for Doom 64 was comfirmed by the original artist to have been the Archvile. He even depicted the beast as having hair wich isn't present on the model. The Barons of Hell were originally going to be introduced in Doom 3 as four bosses wich we would have had to defeat in order to obtain the soul cube. The book called "The making of Doom 3" explains that we would have originally traveled trought four hell levels instead of just one (said level is actually called hell01 in the game files.) The book explains that each Baron would have had different shaped horns and each guarded a peace of the soul cube. This was canned and replaced by the Guardian for unkown reasons.

While the Arch-Vile in Doom 2 resurrects fallen demon, there is a bug that makes them more dangerous. If the demons were to be killed by a crusher, the Arch-Vile can resurrect these demons as a ghost, which can walk through walls and cannot be killed unless you use the splash damage from a rocket launcher.

I'm also very excited about the new Space Marine coming up. I think lore videos would be interesting, but while I know part of the world, the sheer number of books and novels would take me ages to go through and get up to date. But I don't close the door. ^^

I hope they beef up the Archvile in the new game. He was a straight up menace in Doom 2 but since you get the BFG around the time the Archvile is introduced in Eternal, you can basically just delete him before he does anything
@moeman5122 I beat it... it was fun, but I think the arch viles are boring. They're basically just a living version of the empowered totems. It would be a lot more interesting if they resurrected dead demons.
..the baron's design in doom 4 was almost as perfect as the revenant but their faces were a bit cartoony imo and doom 5's fire baron was quite disappointing. ever since the first teaser, i was hoping they would keep the big pink bruisers from doom 4 and when left in battle for a while, they'll be promoted to a marquis (or any higher rank than baron cause i find keeping the title baron a bit lazy) and transform into the hotheads we slay today, which also gives them a buff on health and damage, and they'll instantly become a marquis if a buff totem spawns or an archvile successfully spawns a wave of devils.
