- From 1950 until August 1954 the 526th TIS was known as the 526th Fighter-Bomber Squadron. In 1954, along with the re-designation the 526th FIS mission also changed to air defense of central Europe flying the all-weather, rocket carrying F-86D Sabres. In 1960 the 526th FIS was reassigned to the 86th Air Division at Ramstein AB and equipped with the F-102 which they flew until 1968. F-102 was originally delivered to the 27th FIS in 1962 and was converted to a drone and shot down in 1979.
Today's example is by Hobby Master in 1:72 diecast, from the Air Power Series and is a USAF Convair F-102A Delta Dagger from the 526th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, #56-1210, Ramstein AB, Germany, 1963

Hobby master really knocked it out of the park with this one, that is a gorgeous looking model. I’m usually a gear up guy, but would be tempted to do the gear down and weapons out as you did. The Delta Dart 106A is a beauty too. Great review and thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching!! HM really do these ones nice, funnily I managed to get 3 F-102's (this our 2nd review) but have yet to get a F-106 into my collection. Hopefully I will find one soon!!!! Us gear down guys get all the fixin's 😉 It always does baffle me with so many models that when displayed in flight that you need to remove ordnance to use the stands. But sometimes being a gear down bloke does have its headaches. Some landing gear setups are painful!! haha. Thanks again for dropping past!!

A fantastic model and very striking. The glossy finish makes it a very slippery customer to handle though! And- mine has to be gear down as you cannot waste that weapons bay. Yes- I did say gear down!
And slowly I convert the world to gear down!!😂 Yeah its very glossy, having never seen one of these in real life I cant say if they were that shiny in reality. But HM really do these well. Thanks again for watching!!

@@heavymetaldiecast the Stallion is super awesome for the price & what you get. I had to paint the main rotor blades & hub black because they came in gray for whatever reason. They probably just had a budget to stick to. After the painted blades & some weathering over the whole thing, it's a whole new animal. I love it 👍👍

@@jrex9197 I'm not huge on that platform either. People are always complaining or putting up pics of food. I used to be on it a lot put have hardly been on it for the last year!! Lifes been a lot quieter without it,haha. I use it now only if I post some stuff up in relation to the channel its handy for that. I dont even do that instagram or twitter either,haha

My problem is that in addition to a love for these military planes and models, and 1/200 airliners, is that I have been an HO scale model train collector for 40+ years now and I also have a thing for some 1/64 and 1/50 diecast trucks and heavy equipment models too. I need to win the lottery. 😜🤙
Falcon or Genie missiles?
The model is shown with Falcon missiles.
Genies are usual whitish & have a large bulging warhead.
You usually see the Genies on Voodoo models where they will contrast with the Falcons. Thougg the Genies are most likely in the internal weapon bay.
