TF2: Stop walking on the stickies

- This is a bit of a weird one. I feel as if I lost some sanity while recording this. Jokes aside, in today's video my sole objective is to place sticky bombs in extremely obvious places, in hopes that the enemy doesn't walk on them. But if they do, I have to give them what they deserve. It's times like these though, where I remember why I used to be a Demoman main. He is the most insane class by far. Anyways, enjoy!

There is something so irresistible and creamy about a nice, neat pile of stickies that forces me to tread upon them. It is one of nature's great mysteries

Demos income in the early 70s ($5mil/year) adjusted for inflation comes out to around $40mil a year today. Demo probably buys houses just to blow them up
As a Scottish main: don’t sell your real estate. Just buy more. your oldest real estate blows up automatically when you buy more.

That moment really encapsulated my love for the game. You got to see the player fold his brain as he came up with a solution and immediately put it into action, perhaps a little overzealous though.
He even typed it in chat

A lot of the time being launched into the skybox with Bonk is exactly what you want to happen.

This video is exactly like watching spy frag videos, when they get the kills nobody even twitches when they hear their medic die but as soon as I play spy they have eyes glued to their asscheeks
and when I try this gimmick it’s going to be an instant degrading of my will to live
I do a modified version of this where I set up quickie bomb stickies in a doorway on 2fort and demolish all who walk through, though it only really works when they're pushing into your base.

I can confirm that that's a legit meta. People just can't look at the ground all the time. It's like hiding in a place so obvious that it won't be checked.

This is actually how you use this weapon effectively though. You chuck a bunch of bombs at someone's face, then you pause to wait for the arming time. They get really confused why they didn't get instantly damaged by sticky spam which usually causes them to act irrationally, and then they blow up. The scottish resistance is a seriously powerful area denial weapon, and its why I use it far more often on defense than the stock sticky launcher.
The way the ammo packs keep being flung off into outer space after every detonation has me on the floor every time
suggestion: as spy relay every bit of detail and info from the enemy team to your team through voice chat and annoy them

The trick is that the Scotish Resistance is so underused in casual that players don't know what those stickies do.

I always tell people being good at TF2 is like 70% situational awareness, 25% object permanence and 5% actually aiming and shooting.
i feel like this game went through a phase where stickies weren't very effective because people were so careful about them vs now where most people forgot they exist and simply choose to walk into them
That soldier doing a trick rocketjump to you only to die to a crit bottle made me very, very happy

i think this is the greatest fatmagic video of all time
i'm going to think with logic... i think they walk over them. 1) because it's too late to press other key, so they go with W with all the passion , 2)they are focus on other things so, even if you put the trap in front of them, they are busy with other things.
3) they are blind , 4) they don't care 5) maybe they have the game on low res so they can't see the stickies very well. and 6) well.. i don't know
This video is a great example of how sometimes Fatmagic breaks the enemy team. But sometimes, they break him.

I am generally weary of sticky bombs, but not the Scottish Resistance since I am not used to SR Demos watching their stickies from a place where they can see their stickies but I can't see them.

Fatmagic bringing back the taking a dump on livestream joke has honestly made my day. Unfortunately, I have now started using the phrase taking a dump on livestream irl.
This is one of the reasons my strange Scottish Resistance is currently sat at Server-Clearing lmfao, normal sticky traps work too but for some reason the stickies only seem to actively exist in people's minds when you're firing directly at them - if the stickies stop moving they just turn invisible or something. Like I've gotten kills before just by firing stickies at someone actively attacking me, making them back up with the grenade launcher, and they just go straight over them like the stickies stopped existing the moment they missed
There's probably a whole psychological study you could do on it lmao
I like this video. I'd like to see you do this but hide the traps as much as possible. For example, I wonder if the stickies were on the ceiling they would be less noticeable? I'd love to see you set up traps when on defense and before the round starts. Then use the Scottish resistance to set them off individually as the blue players emerge. In other words, can you find strategies that make the Scottish Resistance viable, even if it was just used for the beginning of a defensive round. Maybe contemplate what maps it works on the best.
