  • In response to China's recent renaming of locations in India's Arunachal Pradesh, the Indian government has launched a corresponding effort to rename approximately 30 places within China's Tibet Autonomous Region, as reported by The Diplomat.
The newly-elected NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given the green light to the renaming of these locations in Tibet, signalling a firm rebuttal to China's naming initiatives. The chosen names have been thoroughly researched and are rooted in historical significance and ties to the Tibetan region. They will be officially published by the Indian Army and incorporated into updated maps along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Because about 63% of Tibetans are living in these two areas. It would be very helpful for young Indians to know the general knowledges about the actual Tibet. The rest I am still watching.

Thank you so much for telling the absolute truth! For far too long India has been compliant against communist China and has ignored Tibet and with it the national security of India! Tibet served as a buffer state between India and China for centuries and hence there has never been a security issue for India from Tibet. However, ever since Tibet was illegally occupied by communist China, China invaded India is 1962! The only way for India to secure its northern border is to reinstate Tibet as the historical buffer for India’s national security and peace in Asia!

Tibet is a country which is occupied by China 🇨🇳. Today we officially seeks to be an autonomous region of China to protect our believes and culture and etc . Tibetan exiled govt follows a very strict policy which state that Tibet was an independent country and currently Tibetans in Tibet are greatly suffering due to Chinese oppression and repression. So to resolve the problem, we will not seek independence and also we don’t want current repression from Chinese govt. So we seek greater autonomy from China , one country two policy.

Interesting discussion, well moderated by Anand Narasimhan, as always.. The Tibetan activist on the panel made a very good point that China, as it is today, was formed by several other regions, including the vast area of Tibet, along with Manchuria, Mongolia, etc. So China's claim that these lands were 'historically' part of its territory is laughable. After 1962 and 2020, India must never make the mistake of assuming that China is a friendly neighbouring country. Its goals are very clear. It wants to claim India's territories just at it has claimed the other neighbouring regions around it. The CCP dragon is a voracious carnivore.

A Ranganathan, I have a question on how do you have the audacity to claim that India IS supporting the cause of Tibetan while having the nerve to point finger at His holiness when India have sided with China at the expense of Tibetan life’s for decades now. Remember the treaty that Vajpay signed as a representative of India that claimed that Tibet was a part of China? How is India supporting the Tibetan cause? Has the Indian government ever stood up for Tibetans by claiming Tibet as independent? No!! We know that India will never support an independent Tibet and due to the neglect that the international community has done to the Tibetans for decades now, the Tibetans are forced to negotiate with China on the point of autonomy and middle way approach. Don’t propagate your cowardness to confront China by blaming solutions that Tibetans have chosen. When we stood for independence so many years, India didn’t stand up for us so don’t act like India would now.

Manipur is and always has been a sensitive subject and has always been ignored by Congress like many other regions. Last 10 years they were brought back into the fold but the strife was reignited last year and will take time to return to normality. Its an issue that goes back centuries.jai shree ram!

The trouble in Manipur caused by Congress appeasement policy towards foreign religion, preachers and missionaries. North East like a sellout to 'foreigner' in Indian bodies. Same has what happed in Kashmir hundreds and hundreds year back.
