You couldn't script this any better if you tried. Playing at home in LA. At the age of 37, with all the injuries in his career, he comes out playing 42 minutes and leaves every ounce of him on that court. His team was down and Kobe not only won the game for the team but he finished the game and his career with a 60 point game. Not 59, not 61.....60. Clean, nice and even. This was some movie level shit and will never be topped ever.
    GOAT.

As a man who never liked Kobe, despised the Lakers. I must say that I witnessed his entire career along with Jordan. And last night what I saw from Kobe, who has been broken down for years. A man whose body betrayed him, last night proved to me , a hater, that he is without a doubt the greatest of all time. For him to score 60 and will his team to victory regardless of it was a meaningless game or not. To entertain his beloved fans one last time, all those famous celebs to witness greatness once more is special. For him to not let them down proved what kind of legend he is. The only thing I wish he would have done was wear a special jersey with 8 on the front and 24 on the back. Just imagine how many of those they could sell. But I am so glad that I decided to watch the Lakers over the Warriors. I knew GS would handle business and regardless of how much I hate the Lakers and have disliked Kobe I respect what he did for the game and the highlights he provided. You just could not script last night any better.

    Dear Kobe,
Wow, I cant believe its all over. Not seeing you next year in that Purple and Gold is going to be so weird. But now that its all over, the only words i can say are THANK YOU
Thank you for showing the world anything is possible by being drafted 13th out of high school. As a skinny 17 year old, nobody knew you would become what you did except for you. And Jerry West ;)
Thank you for showing the hornets they were DEAD WRONG for passing up on the greatest player to ever pick up a basketball!
Thank you for bringing three straight championships to LA!
Thank you for scoring 81 POINTS!!!!
Thank you for killing Raja Bell every time you played him
THANK YOU FOR POSTERIZING DWIGHT HOWARD
Thank you for not flinching when Matt Barnes faked the ball at you lol. Youre crazy
Thank you for dropping 43 on the celtics twice in your career and getting MVP chants in the Boston Garden!
Thank you for 61 at MSG. It was an absolute clinic.
Thank you for scoring 62 in THREE QUARTERS. Thats insane
Thank you for bring USA the gold medal in 2008 against Spain with your unbelievable performance. You truly are the greatest closer ever.
Thank you for averaging 35 points in a single season (2005-06)
Thank you for proving to the world you could win a championship without Shaq. Two of them actually.
Thanks for beating the celtics in game 7
Thank you for being the most clutch player in the history of the NBA bailing us out time and time again with the most gamewinners ever, and who knows how many other clutch shots you hit.
Last but not least.. Thank you for scoring 60 points in your last game! Nobody thought you could do it, but i really dont know why because if anyone could do it, its Kobe Bryant. You put up huge scoring games, its just what you do. So thank you for having the greatest performance in a final game for any athlete in any sport. You truly cannot write this stuff. You are the greatest scorer ever and you proved it tonight at 37 years old, with 48,000+ minutes played with endless injuries, scoring 60 points. You are a Legend.
Most of all Kobe. Thank you for giving us your all. Thank you for playing through every injury no matter what it was. You never cheated the game, and you came ready to play with the same mentality for every game. You wouldnt be outworked by anybody and you expected greatness from everybody. Thank you for having the ultimate will to win and putting winning before anything else. You gave your heart and soul every night for us, and for that we thank you and love you forever. You are the greatest Laker and the greatest player as far as I am concerned. I Love you and I thank you one last time Mr. Bryant. Mamba Out

I've watched this more than 100 times. It's still incredible and momentous.
After his passing, it makes me cry over, and over again.
We all miss you Black Mamba. And your dearest Gianna.
You gave us the epitome of what it takes to be great, every day, in every game. Those who have taken on your teachings, the Mamba Mentality, everyday in every moment, we honour you. 😇😇

This man was on the God tier. Low, high, middle, hard, soft; Kobe brought it from day fucking one and defined an era, picking up almost immediately where Jordan left off. I hate him as a Nets fan for 2002 but as a basketball fan I am just humbled to have been witness. There will never be another like the Mamba. He's a once in a LIFETIME player. Congratulations Kobe.

    • @paratext
      @paratext 6 лет назад

MackinShizzaveli #WeWasCavemen Yeah you're completely missing the point. It isn't about his stats. It's about the natural skill and talent that was always there from the beginning. Kobe was always that guy from the beginning. Even Coach K said this about Kobe in his Lower Merion days. Check the interview.

But this season and particularly tonight that hate was overcome with a genuine love and respect for Kobe. I was able to take the blinders off and see how incredible Kobe was/is. Magic said it best when he mentioned "Kobe never cheated this game". Whether you love him or hate him, one thing you can't deny about this man, he absolutely gave 100% effort into this game literally till his last fucking game - - the bigger the pressure/moment, the greater the performance night after night. That's fucking legendary.
