Fake. It's not the one week training. The true MVP was that guy at the guitar shop. He was one hell of a teacher. He corrected his pick holding and insta-shred ability unlocked.

That's a quandary for sure. You don't want to spend a ton of money if the student might change their minds, but a well set up quality guitar is easier to play and properly tune and intonate than a cheaper guitar. I probably couldn't currently play the guitar I learned on. You had to have vice-grip hands to fret it cleanly and the strings were probably 1/2" above the fingerboard. I exaggerate, but you get the idea.
Oh yes! Them 245s! still thinking about whether to get an SE tremonti. But anyways, this is the best part about being able to master shredding and sweeping. Man, makes me wish i'd really taken guitar more seriously 10 years ago! :P
What the hell actually IS a beginner guitar anyway lol. I mean there's nothing wrong with handing him a PRS. I guess he may be wasting money if he doesn't "stick with it", but hell. I'd have loved to have learned on a PRS lol

@@xsixinfantryx thing is, instrument quality matters as well and I learnt it the hard way. The brand at most can only impose certain impressions or standards of quality on guitar players, but factory ops is a whole other story - and so it's better to stick with one guitar that doesn't give you the most headaches in maintenance than to be a victim of GAS and have an array of junk guitars that don't play just as well.

Coolest saleman ever. He was so accomdating. Then he realized you were goofing and was totally cool with it.
A good music store should give great attention to beginners. Not only do you get to introduce someone into making music, it's how you create store loyalty. Too many shops have staff that make it uncomfortable to be a rookie. If you want to jam out with a cool set up (you don't have at home) go ahead and play Smoke on The Water or Iron Man. All of us players have been at that point at one time. The snobby disdain drives beginners away.

It's infamously hard to get a straight white-collar job if you've got a tattoo covering your hand, like this guy. But for that very reason, it also signals commitment to being a rocker (or rapper). Though there's also the possibility that he's a drummer or a stand-up singer who wants to branch out to guitar or start writing music.
I really thought "Oh no...here we go again...!" But this was outstanding. I chuckled a lot, and the store owner deserves a medal for his admiration.
