Hi, very informative and helpful video. I was following your video using my iPhone 12 Pro Max, but no A/F button appeared on my screen. Did I miss something or can you advise please? Many thanks. Terry Davis
Question regarding data files created. Using Final Cut camera app, created ProRes several 1080 files resulting in about 198GB using memory space on the iPhone as a result. Transferred the files to my iMac mini via AirDrop. Then deleted them using the Final Cut camera app on the iPhone. But to my surprise the memory usages remained the same, while the files were gone from the apps gallery. Power cycled the iPhone, no change. I eventually deleted and reinstall the app to clear the application memory on the iPhone. What is the secret to deleting the files from the application iPhone memory using the Final Cut camera app as a stand alone? Or is this a undocumented feature of the app?
I appreciate new app from Apple but I am sticking with BMD Camera. Too many things are lacking in this first version. Having to save clips to camera roll manually. Now, if the next version coupled with FCP desktop allows us to record multicam without having to use an iPad would be game changing. I have tried editing with FCP iPad and its so counter intuitive to how we have been editing for years. I assume BMD is working on something similar for their Camera app to work with Resolve and if that happens..... Mind blown.
I agree that would be awesome! Als the ability for live switching when doing live multi-cam would be so great. Yes the BMC app definitely still has more to offer but it great to see that apple is heading in the right direction.
What's your thoughts about this app compared to blackmagic app I purchased the smallrig from your video I'm new to taking videos I'm still using the camera app that came on the phone I have the iphone 15 pro max
If only they made cinematic video easy to achieve like in the normal camera app. These pro camera apps tend to not incorporate cinematic mode or aperture in their applications
Hi Bennett - as always, a great review of this apps features. I’d be interesting in hearing your opinion of about this app. Personally, I’m a bit underwhelmed. It does give us control over exposure and white balance but not much else. Maybe it’s multi-cam features are most important to Apple but since I own one iPhone and one iPad, it’s wasn’t build for people like me. Again, thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching! I'm happy Apple made a pro camera app, but it's not as advanced as the BMC app. It's missing 50fps support, LUT imports, and third-party hardware support for anamorphic lenses. Who knows if they'll add these features. I do love the live multi-cam feature, and adding a live switcher would be fantastic. I own an iPad and an iPhone, and if you collaborate with others who have iPhones, you could use the multi-cam feature to shoot a podcast, interview, or music video.
Liking the app so far. I realize it’s the first version but when I make changes in the gears ie enable stabilization and grids then when I shoot then shut down all the settings have been reset. Anyone having that issue? iPhone 15 Plus
Hello there... I've noticed that my preferences in the configuration settings resets every time I shut down the app. Is this a bug or that's how the app works?
I don’t have the Apple ProRes option, I have an iPhone 15. Is it my phone model that’s causing this? I tried activating it in settings but it wasn’t an option
Great video thanks for the walk-through but I can’t get my DJI Mic 2 to to connect. I think there’s a flaw in the system. Has anyone got this to work yet?
I still prefer BM for professional shoots, due to the fact that I can record in PAL formats 50fps and it also supports LUT integration and many assisting tools ⚒️
Bro please❤ make video for Gimbel modes in detail❤🎉
Is noted :)
@@BenettGraezer Thankyu very Much Hope u Done It soon

It is basically the stock app with manual white balance and without H264 format.
Nothing really spectacular.

Thanks for the video. Hopefully we can use the App as well with FCP on Mac. That would be great.
Have a nice day.
Greetings from Bavaria :)
I hope so too
But how does it map up against the other non Apple camera apps?
Liking the app so far. I realize it’s the first version but when I make changes in the gears ie enable stabilization and grids then when I shoot then shut down all the settings have been reset. Anyone having that issue? iPhone 15 Plus
yes happens to me too. It doesn’t always save the last changes. I hope they will update that and also include presets.
@@BenettGraezerexcellent- and great video presentation!!! 😊

Yes it happens to me too, i hope they will update that and add presets in the future
Some of the points here like shooting log or connecting to an SSD are only applicable to the iPhone 15.
Yes, thanks for pointing that out 👍🏻
I’m on 14 & was wondering why I don’t see Log😩Thanks
Great video technique. Being 'in the viewfinder' and pointing to the control buttons .. well done !
Thanks! 👍
Unique presentation!
All is ok but how to I click photo,,, only option is shoot video or only this app support video shoot?
It supports only video
I don’t have the Apple ProRes option, I have an iPhone 15. Is it my phone model that’s causing this? I tried activating it in settings but it wasn’t an option
You need pro or pro max
Apple watch control of final cut camera?
Not supported at the moment :/
@@BenettGraezer lame, that's the one thing I want ha

Thanks! Strange it does work with mine. Have you updated you DJI Mic 2 to the latest software?
@@BenettGraezer maybe this is the problem. Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate your channel.
I hope Apple combines the Final Cut Pro app and default cam app.
Apple should have just done that at the very beginning and have a pro shooting mode available in the stock app instead of a separate app.
Always enjoy your videos. You are very informative and easy to follow. Thank you. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, will do!
Can the app be paired with iwatch for iwatch to be used as monitor?
Not at the moment
Is there cinematic mode on this app?
No thats only available on the default camera app
Hard to use the app without Bluetooth remote functionality. I’m very used to using the trigger on my handle to start/stop recording.
Thanks for sharing, haven’t tested that out yet. That is a bit of a bummer but hopefully they will support it in future updates
great vid, what do you think is better this or the Blackmagic app

@@BenettGraezer Thank you for the reply. yes im in a Pal area and wish that Final Cut would have had 50 fps
Hi Benett! Can I control Final Cut Camera App via watch?
Unfortunately not, hopefully they will add that to future updates. Currently the default camera and filmic pro support this function.
@@BenettGraezer Thank you!
Why it isn’t free on iPad??
It really needs a photomode!
Very clear and well explained.
Glad it was helpful!

Can’t I take pictures with it ?
No its just for video
You can select frame rates of 120 or 240 but only in 1080p
Thanks for the input!
How do you get into photo mode?
There is not photo mode :/
What is a good video record pause app? Thanks.
