Hi Peter. Yes the May/DER MAY!!! sounds quite good for a diy pedal. You should check out the musikding website for this pedal. Maybe you want to try one for yourself. By the way, forgot To mention, the 3rd dimension chorus was on the 2 setting. You use also or a combination of numbers?
One reason treble boosters really did not catch on is because its usage was almost exclusively in the UK. I don't know of any American rock guitarist who used one.
TB's are good for a lot of different sounds, not just high gain. The type makes all the difference; if you're looking for high gain ,it dosent matter as much, but if you want a broader application, the Germanium is the way to go.Adds harmonics and texture like nothing else.
Thats right, and what I like about the range, as well as Der May, that if you install sockets for the capacitors, you can experiment to the desired sound you're looking for.
Hi Alsay. The KAT Treble booster is always one. So I suggest to take some extra 9-volt Batteries with you. And don't forget to plug out the cable when done ;-)
I use 9v batteries, instead of external powe supplies, with my pedals whenever possible. If there's room inside the pedal I now install a toggle switch that will completely disconnect any power draw from the battery. This means there's no need to unplug the guitar cable from the pedal when not in use. It's a simple install and an extremely useful feature to have.
Hi Manuel. The Der may, you can orde from a German/English website named: 'Musikding". Type in Brian May in the search bar, or via the boost section in musikding Kits, and you will find it
Personally I like the Der May a lot. Its just has a certain sweet spot in the sound, I can't really explain. The Naga Viper can have it as well, but you need to tweak a lot, while the Der May is instant sweet.
It's all sounds pretty wanting to be honest. Thin and fizzy at best. I don't think you can put anything into a 10 watt transistor amp with a 6.5" speaker and make it sounds big.
My thoughts exactly. When I looked at the pathfinder I was like: Honestly? He's going to plug a Rangemaster-type TB into that poor transistor radio? TBs were originally used in the sixties to tidy up the mushy sound of cranked TUBE AMPs like Marshall Plexies or Vox AC30s, thereby creating that iconic Rock'n'Roll sound. It does NOT work with Transistors!
Hi Eagle. Sorry for the delayed response. The KAT treble booster, has no knobs. So its just, plug-in, and its activated. The Screaming Bird, Der May and The Range were all on full volume/setting. The Naga viper: Range and heat on full. Boost on lets say 75%
This comforts me since my parents won’t let me get anything that has the name queen or Brian may on it, I was gonna get a vox pathfinder 10, a KAT treble booster and a KAT speaker upgrade but had to settle for just the catalinbread booster because of my parents opinion. But the catalinbread does sound great!
Nice video. If you enjoyed making your booster check out fuzz dog pedal parts in the uk. You can get a fryer deluxe and a Cornish TB83 for not much money ! Also have you thought about fitting a super-pot to your RS ?
@@montag4516 hi, it’s basically a duel pot with a capacitor and a resistor to ensure that tone remains even across its sweep. When wound right back it is also super sparkly. There is also a longer sweep !
Great video. I use the BOSS EQ as my treble booster.
Great video...I liked the comparisons....I liked the KAT and the Der May pedals
Hi Harald, Thanks for the mention. I thought they were all pretty close, but I like the one with the Dea May one the best.

@@haraldamsterdam1988 Hi Harald, I tend to use button 2 or 3 on the 3D Chorus.
This channel is GREAT! You deserve more subs!
Makhaya Talbot-Hogg thanks!!!! 😃
Great Video nice to hear the differance. With the KAT Plush you can buy a seperate draw so you can run it off Mains Power too.
Thanks for the demo!

Do you know the decibel boost of the der may?
One question about the Kat TB plush:
Is it constantly on or is there a way to turn it off ?

Why are treble boosters so expensive?
did the kat plush added some lows? is this something you would want or need from a treblebooster?
Do you know where I can get a der may tb?
Hi Manuel.
The Der may, you can orde from a German/English website named: 'Musikding".
Type in Brian May in the search bar, or via the boost section in musikding Kits, and you will find it
What were your settings on the amp?
I believe everything on 12 o clock. and the volume on a appropriate level.
Thanks for the comparison! I like Der May and the KAT most here. The KAT is perhaps a little mushy though. Which one of the two do you prefer Harald?

Hello Harald , super 👏👏
Marie-renee Maudouit merci bien! Etait tout en l’anglaise. Mais j’espere que tu as un idee sur le sujet?
Bientôt un nouveau morceau alors 😊 j’attends avec impatience 👍
Are you form the Netherlands? I’m struggling with finding a good place to buy these 😬

Why won't they let you get anything with Queen / Brian May' name?
the kat sound very good fot the price!
Hi Tony. Indeed. KAT did a good job by having a DIY pedal available. Its like the Fryer treble booster. Hope they will make more of those projects.
@@haraldamsterdam1988 yes, we need good brian may gear for low budget !
tony madad certain of the treble boosters i showed are good starters. Hope one day there will be deacy amp-emulator pedals. Straight into the amp.

The May pedal sounds the most accurate to Brian’s sound
