The Pista will most likely be marginally quicker than the Porsche GT2RS but still not quite as quick as the 720S in a straight line.
the Boss -rs where does it say 0-200 kph in 7.1 seconds? From RUclips comments looking at the time of video? PS, going off the speedometer is still off. The 720S actually does 7 second 0-200 kph, GPS verified and done by magazine AND owners, unlike Ferrari
No end of BS and misinformation re 0-200 times. The quickest VBOX figures for Brooks' 720S that i've seen are 0-100 2.66 and 100-200 4.84 which equals 7.5 secs. There's no chance the 488 Pista is going to beat that unless it's in a mineshaft...
Spoiler: The McLaren driver let the Ferrari go first then went for a toilet break, read a newspaper, did some donuts on the start line, and still crossed the finishing line first.

Mclaren still wins, faster around a track as well. The 720s beat the 488 gtb around the nurburgring by over 7 seconds.

The history of Mclaren vs Ferrari mid engine battle start when Mclaren launched their first mid engine V8, the Mp4 12c which goes a battle with the 458. from there the sequence of battle would be like this
MP4-12C = 458, 650s = 458 Speciale, 675lt = 488, 720s = Pista. So, this races was kind of unfair. Correct me if im wrong, Sir.
The 458 goes up against the 650s.
The 458 Speciale is the track version of the 458, so that goes against the 675lt as it's the track version of the 650s.
The 488 is the competitor of the 720s.
The Pista being the track version of the 488, it will be the competitor to the track version of the 720s when it comes out in about a year or so.

488 loses on a track even worse, it loses to 675LT (which is slower than 720s). This Ferrari is a gt cruiser and a status car, not a high performance car. 812 Superfast is more in 720s league.

Nearly 800hp which is way over what mclaren stated. Flash tunes can get 800-900hp from a 488gtb also. Ferrari doesn't have to have massively fast cars to compete because everyone already respects them enough and will buy them. The 458 had like 560hp or whatever and the 488 has 660, why would they go to 800hp, that means the pista would have to be 850hp. It's just evolving too fast. Mclaren on the other hand has to create massively fast cars to stay relevant
Go McLaren! I've driven both the 488 GTB and the 720S (albeit on the road). Both very respectable machines but the 720S put a much bigger smile on my face, even at legal-ish speeds.

Well, I have seen the acceleration of the 488 Pista already, and it does 0-200km/ph in 7,2 seconds. So, that's 720S league, if not, faster.
But lets face it: cars today are so fast that even going faster won't contribute to any more fun. The stock 488 is already so fast, you don't need anything more. When buying this cars it's not about speed anymore, it's about how much fun you can have with the car and how much fun it gives.
Look at us here on RUclips, it's only about accelerations this days. So sad to see, because character is so much more important. Do you drive the car, of does the car drives you? And that's exactly the problem with this McLaren.

Maybe for you, but for a lot people that drive these cars it's not. Especially in parts on the world where there aren't a lot of dragstrips, but a lot of curvey roads, like here in Europe.

Would you please put drag radials on the 720S to see how deep into the 9's you could get? It seems like if you could launch harder than you are, you'd be able to get possibly into the mid-9's
A more efficient way is a simple chip tune. That's the main advantage of turbo cars. You can get 15% more peak power plus tons of midrange torque (but that's irrelevant for drag and track racing, at least if you're a capable driver) for under 5k (which is still a rip off, for cheap cars the same technology costs 400 bucks). I wonder why not everybody does that. It's essentially free.

No stock vehicle under $1,000,000 can take on the 720s right now. Even most hypercars over $1,000,000 would be splitting hairs in a victory. The next gen Porsche 911 Turbo S will probably be a good contender in a low(er) price range.

Long shot request for the champ is any of the Koenigsegg cars. I know that won't hook up that well but I'm sure at the 1/8 they will be pulling in that 720 like the 720 did the 488. Brooks see what of your many strings needs to be pulled I'm sure in southern Florida there has to be a few eggs down there. Great channel amazing garage and it shows hard work pays off to be able to pay 500k for the gt when that garage already has like 1.5 mill in it !

But the Ferrari got dyno tested and it makes the power advertised. So maybe it’s the weight or gearing. The Ferrari doesn’t use its max torque until gear 7 apparently.
I bet drag times would make sure the 720s is with 98 octane and the 488 probably 93 octane or something.. they should trap well over 130mph, I've seen stock even pull a 139mph with 98 octane and a terrible 60'
The Ferrari doesnt lack any power, Ferrari is correct with their power advertisement. Its just Mclaren that is faking it. The stock 488 is already one beast of a car at drag straight line, it can easily spin the tires on 3º and 4º gear...Actually is has so much torque it is limited to 7th gear.

The 570s is not even remotely close to being on the same echelon as any of those cars. Let's take a look at acceleration times for each of those cars.
Huracan performante gets from 0-60 in an estimated 2.6 seconds
488 gtb gets from 0-60 in an estimated 2.8 seconds
turbo s gets from 0-60 in an estimated 2.6 seconds
mclaren 570s: 2.9 seconds
the gap only widens as they gain speed. 488 gtb gets from 0-200 in 8.1 seconds, whereas it takes a 570s 8.5 seconds. Please don't compare an entry level supercar to bona fide supercars.

I would disagree with the Performante, but would say that its faster than the 488 and Turbo s. The Ford GT... not sure. I have the 570s by the way. My neighbor has (had) the 488 and has the 720s as well. According to him, the interior on the 488 was nicer, but in regards to sheer speed and power, the 488 doesn't compare. His car is now on sale at the Atlanta dealership (black) for those who are interested.

Expected this to happen, but why is everyone against Ferrari?
Even in this video, the way it states that they LET the Ferrari go first and the McLaren spun, is that to imply the Ferrari is slow? Because I remember the Demon having a little jump in the last video, but that was not mentioned when the Dodge got the headstart. This also isn’t the only video where the 488 GTB is deliberately given a head start of some sort against the 720S.
But anyway, no road legal Ferrari can beat the 720S. None except the LaFerrari. The 488 Pista would have to be underrated to compete.

I’m sure the LaFerrari can beat the 720S. I just don’t think it will be consistent in a 1/4 mile because of the launch. But in a roll race or longer standing race, the LaFerrari should consistently have it.
The LaFerrari has more weight, but also has more horsepower, more torque, more RPM, a better power to weight ratio and torque to weight ratio, and torque is instant. As for aerodynamics, I don’t know.

j n21t4, you're forgetting that it's a Ferrari, they overrate the actual specs of the car by a lot, while for McLaren it's the opposite and they underrate. There's a race where the 720s beats a 918 on a roll so I think there is atleast a chance of it beating the LaFerrari.

I know that the McLaren is that quick, I’ve seen that. My point is why are people always giving the 488 GTB some sort of head start against the 720S. We never saw these kind of stunts against the LP610-4, LP640-4 Performante, LP750-4 Superveloce, P100D or Demon. But yet there are multiple videos of people giving the 488 GTB a head start or let it go first, as if to say the Ferrari is slow or put it down.

IT's 60-130 beats GT-R and GT3 RS by a second. Driver is very poor. 0-60 in 3.52 compared to the 3.4 carand Driver got in heavier much less powerful new Vantage. It's a tiny bit quicker than NSX but traps 10 mph higher. ZR1 did 11.44 with bad driver...this is also a bad driver.

@@arnavbhatt219 They never shared with the other brands taking from the others, you can look to all the cars from the 365 GTS/4 to the GTC4Lusso and you won't find a single bolt made from other brands because Ferrari, even if it was under someone, had always its autonomy and the only thing they worked on with the others from the group are some engines where Ferrari was the major brand that gave all the directions or they were Ferrari engines mounted in the others' cars, and that was the situation from 1969 to 2016.

grkhunter123 warranty issues and claims ???? Just asking. A lot of this is not covered if vehicle used in speed or racing contest. Yes, sounds silly, but it's true. Nearly all insurance carriers will also not cover a car wrecked in a race or speed contest, which these vids are.

John Chow no...it won. Look at 2:58...the Ferrari driver just didn't react for 1.4 seconds, whereas the Tesla driver reacted almost instantly to the green light. With their times taken from when they started moving the Ferrari was 0.3 seconds quicker and was going 15mph faster at that point
The winner of a drag race is the car that crosses the finish line first, not the car with the quickest time. The 488 lost.
John Chow not in this kind of race. That's why they have times recorded. The delays are often deliberate, and a 1.4s delay is clearly very deliberate. It was highlighted as it was the best run...based on the time it scored. You clearly have no idea how 1/4 mile drag racing works in situations like this.

That makes no sense. There must be something wrong with this particular 488. I know the 488 is down on power and would have been beaten by the 720S anyway, but not like this. It's like this 488 hit an invisible aerodynamic wall and just stopped accelerating.
The maclaren transmission is better and it weight less, and has a bit more power. Put those 3 together...
The Ferrari in the video has been on a dyno and is making the standard power. The 720s is just so much faster than everything else that everything it races looks broken. McLaren have form for dramatically under rating their cars, the 570 is also hugely quicker than it should be as well.

preludeF20Bking srtmush and demonology? Yeah we've all seen em. Srtmush has a ton of mods so its kinda irrelevant and demonology doesn't even run quicker than the green one in these videos. It's an automatic, with launch control, and drag radials. If it dead hooks then the drivers job is done.
StrykerV8 SRT mush has 6 mods and if they use the transbrake and launch control do a good burnout and get a good 60ft then yeah it will hit but no one is using the demon correctly
