MPG is around the same at 1OOmpg. Safety is not an issue running this tire. The width is not that much different, but you do notice more stability and less flickability. It makes the bike way more stable at speed, which to me is safer. The wheel width is irrelevant.

I’m a small guy at 5’9 and 140 pounds so either bike is perfect size for me really. Ride them both and make your own judgement. They’re basically the same just depends on your own opinion.
I have the Z125. The only mod I have made is I put on one inch of handle bar lift. I'm 5'11" and I like to set further back on the seat and I wanted the bars to come back to me.
@@2gunz122 I had to lean forward too much. It's only an inch higher and 1/2 back but it helps a bit. The bars were also tilted to an odd angle that made me learn further forward. The wiring to the turn signal switch and horn switch won't allow a 2 inch lift. It's just too short.
The first 8 seconds of this video i can feel how fun these bikes are without even riding them, the middle finger killed me 😂 exactly what I'd be doing with my friends lol

Is it possible that the component that the drain plug screws into was previously stressed beyond its yield strength? If it's a cast part it may actually have been cast with a defect, and in that case Kawi should warranty it.
TSTindustries yeah the cast was so weak!! I torqued it to 21foot pounds per manual! Never again!!! Torquing!!!! Kawasaki said it wasn’t a faulty part! But stated that they will pay for parts but not the labor!! Wth man!!! Seriously!?
Matty Cakes that's unfortunate but at least they will pay for parts. What you can do to ensure it doesn't happen again is drill the drain bolt, torque it to half of what they call for, and safety wire it in a way it won't back out.

Never seen one of these in person but that could be due to my middle of no where Alaska life :-) Having a lot of fun researching them and wouldn't mind having one just for fun since no one else appears to have one. Maybe people in Anchorage rides them.
@@TSTindustries - I am sure they are but have never seen one in person in my location. I went to Anchorage last month (worst place in the state) and didn't see any then nor the times before, but that does not mean they are not there. I think it would be a lot of fun to make these into a mini ADV bike and ride the Alcan. Say from Big Sky MT through Canada into Fairbanks then into Denali and if someone is really feeling froggy ending the Trip in Seward or Homer AK.
Quite a bit, but mainly the fact that single cylinder motors tend to be more "thumpy" and the rubber on the rearsets lessens the vibrations felt in your feet by a lot. But again, what do I know? 😂😘
I think the best form of research you can do on the subject is going through SFLminiGP results and see which bikes are the winningest (if that's a word).
Nice, just the comment I was looking for. I'm also 5'9" n am looking to get a Z125. Originally I wanted the Grom until I saw an all black Z with red wheels at my dealer and immediately loved it
Z all day long. The one dude referred to the Grom’s ‘Pogo Sticks’. That was the number one turn off for me on the OG Grom and they did not fix it in the 2nd gen bike. The ‘23 is improved. Still like the Z better tho.
I can’t find that windscreen for the Z anywhere on your site. Can you provide a link if it’s third party? P.s. ordered some levers, led lights, and axel sliders for mine. Can’t wait to put them on!!
I can't remember where that part was from. The bike belonged to Mark in the video and he has since sold it. I'm glad to hear that you got youreself some goodies from our store. Enjoy!
Graham is a 125 it is needed for that specific cubic inches size motor you cannot then go and put a 250 mL which equals a much higher or excuse me but more in area the point is is that a 125 four stroke bike cannot fit a 250 motor in it they’re both four strokes one motor is bigger than the other that’s like taking a 125cc two-stroke you put in a 250 two-stroke motor in it or taking it 250 F and putting a 500 motor or even 450 It’s apples and oranges if it was a two-stroke I would understand
Anyone knocking the socks obviously don't ride! Go get a banshee and ride it with your flip flops, shorts, and a cutoff tee. You will Have some sweet inner calf branding.
I have a ‘15 zuma 125. Thinking of trading dealer for Grom. I can’t decide. Both are great but the Grom’s been out longer. Honestly the zuma sucks. Great scoot but won’t idle for sh*t.... yamaha cannot make fuel injection for sh*t. Took it 3 times to the dealer. Says it idles from 350-1100 rpm’s. Definitely not normal but dealer says it’s within spec. Nothing wrong they said. Changed everything from plug to wire. Nothing. Just have to live with it
I have someone locally selling a 2018 Z125 with 1100 miles on it for $2100 and another local guy selling his 2015 Honda grom with only 70 miles on it for the same price! which should i get!? ..both are bone stock
It comes down to personal preference. I like the Grom myself. That is what I would go for. At $2100 both deals are a steal. Grom has more aftermarket parts available so there is good opportunity for customization.
Damn, I stopped riding after 12 years in 2017. My R1 ended up sitting in a garage the last 4 years besides track days. These look ridiculous but it could be a blast on those tight turns. If it can make it up the 4k foot climb to get to the tight roads that is. 😂
You can have an equal amount of fun on each of them. Honda has a slightly better aftermarket support so if you want to modify the bike you choose, the Grom will offer some more options.
John Hutchinson I am neither of the two guys in the video but I own the yellow Grom portrayed. I am 6'0" and I am comfortable on the Grom. I use it as a pit bike at races, use it as a drift/dirt bike at track events in between sessions, and give rides to my daughter around my neighborhood. The Grom is a great fun bike in a compact size.
I’ve been wanting one of these for years 1 - fun factor 2 - to throw in the truck and take with the rv My local dealership has leftovers on sale right now $2,400 for the Kawasaki and $3,000 for the Grom ... is the from worth the $600 more?

Having a lot of fun researching them and wouldn't mind having one just for fun since no one else appears to have one. Maybe people in Anchorage rides them.
These things are super popular in mainland. Someone must have one in Alaska
Very nice information on these bikes thanks!
Our pleasure!
This look fun gear head we’re u find them at and how can I get one
How much is the bike tire size
I'm 5'4 so these are perfect
Rip Lil peep I daily z125 and I’m 5’9. They are fine to me
I’m 5’ 8” and I love mine. Granted I only weigh 130 lol
Still love da grom more
Same but the z125 is faster
I did my riders course on a Kawasaki Z125. It's a dope little bike.
What does the fact that there is padding on the pegs have to do with it being a single cylinder bike?
Quite a bit, but mainly the fact that single cylinder motors tend to be more "thumpy" and the rubber on the rearsets lessens the vibrations felt in your feet by a lot. But again, what do I know? 😂😘
Pk... the reason I ask is that traditionally the small 4 stroke Honda motors seem to have a little more power than their competitors.
I think the best form of research you can do on the subject is going through SFLminiGP results and see which bikes are the winningest (if that's a word).
At 5.6 does his knees hits the bars on the z125
They look great fun!
They sure are.
This is a bike reviews. Why are people caring so much about their socks? Great review guys!
The socks make it easier to jump in and out of a suit quickly. I too don't understand them being the focal point.
Do another video with both bikes and 15 or 20 riders, and put it to a vote. Subjectively, which bike wins in a small sample group?
Mike Thompson we can surely do that if you get us funding.
I’m 5’9 I have no problem with my knees on turns with my z125.
Nice, just the comment I was looking for. I'm also 5'9" n am looking to get a Z125. Originally I wanted the Grom until I saw an all black Z with red wheels at my dealer and immediately loved it
The difference is that Honda will never be beat.
M 310 idk every honda motorcycle gets smoked by every competitor.
trash can hahahahaha yes
Never be beat up Honda 🤩
@@trashcan9615 not necessarily true . Ever heard of a cr500af ?
trash can yeahhhhhh no I’ll use this thing for 3 years and still sell it for almost what I paid can’t say that about any other brand
Z all day long. The one dude referred to the Grom’s ‘Pogo Sticks’. That was the number one turn off for me on the OG Grom and they did not fix it in the 2nd gen bike. The ‘23 is improved. Still like the Z better tho.
grom baby all day
Went to school in Bushnell lol finally on the map
I can’t find that windscreen for the Z anywhere on your site. Can you provide a link if it’s third party? P.s. ordered some levers, led lights, and axel sliders for mine. Can’t wait to put them on!!
I can't remember where that part was from. The bike belonged to Mark in the video and he has since sold it. I'm glad to hear that you got youreself some goodies from our store. Enjoy!
Who ever made that Kawasaki has nice taste. The grey and green in nice
Honda u mean?
I'd love to do a 250cc 4 stroke conversion for it. Do they sell conversion kits
Tom Spaulding for the grom they make conversion kits to put in a cbr 250 motor. It is a 250 4 stroke 6 speed.
Great video guys! Let's do a Grom Day at Bushnell?
I think we can work something out. Let's continue this conversation through email buddy!
What's better i want to buy one of them
You really have to judge for yourself. The bikes are very similar with only small nuances that make them different.
What bike sounds the best guys
Nothing. Just have to live with it
Im 5’4 which is better for me??
I have someone locally selling a 2018 Z125 with 1100 miles on it for $2100 and another local guy selling his 2015 Honda grom with only 70 miles on it for the same price! which should i get!? ..both are bone stock
It comes down to personal preference. I like the Grom myself. That is what I would go for. At $2100 both deals are a steal. Grom has more aftermarket parts available so there is good opportunity for customization.
@@TSTindustries sweet ill go with the grom. thanks fro the response
Do you have to have a license for these...?
Check your local laws as they vary quite a bit.
I saw a Canadian review that said the Z125 has a speed limiter (to something like 56 MPH). Is that true in the U.S?
This is in fact true.
Thanks for the reply. So, is the Grom significantly faster for highway travel?
@@rob_9876 I believe the grom only reaches 60mph
Damn, I stopped riding after 12 years in 2017. My R1 ended up sitting in a garage the last 4 years besides track days. These look ridiculous but it could be a blast on those tight turns. If it can make it up the 4k foot climb to get to the tight roads that is. 😂
Wherever you need to go there is gearing for it
The exhaust pipe is customized or find at the shop?
Both bikes had off the shelf exhaust systems.
I'm 5 ft 8 and 220 lb. How fast could it go?
Around 60mph
Great video , you are a Honda guy just like we are
*AND WHAT IS BETTER KAWASAKI Z125 AND HONDA GROM.* *KAWASAKI Z125 OR HONFA GROM TELL ME?*
You can have an equal amount of fun on each of them. Honda has a slightly better aftermarket support so if you want to modify the bike you choose, the Grom will offer some more options.
I am 59 this year do you think a grom is good for older riders?
Absolutely! The Grom and Z125 are great for riders all ages with all types of riding experience.
I'm 67 and I use it for commuting 2 miles to work. I can park it in very little space and even on the back patio without anyone complaining.
I have a z125 kawagrom pro 17’ model, fucken kicks ass bro
Hey, so I'm a taller guy, wondering if the Grom would be comfortable. How tall are you exactly for reference??
John Hutchinson I am neither of the two guys in the video but I own the yellow Grom portrayed. I am 6'0" and I am comfortable on the Grom. I use it as a pit bike at races, use it as a drift/dirt bike at track events in between sessions, and give rides to my daughter around my neighborhood. The Grom is a great fun bike in a compact size.
The guy in the red socks cracks me up
Me too. He's a funny guy.
Does one have more power than the other?
not any noticeable difference, although various dynos show different numbers.
What are the two of you wearing?
The suits used in the video are made by RST. The normal outfits are of the riders own choosing including the undersuits/socks.
The Hipster socks goto go Boys
Hipster Socks is a great band name.
Fun video!
Who makes the levers on the Z1?
We do!
I’ve been wanting one of these for years
1 - fun factor
2 - to throw in the truck and take with the rv
My local dealership has leftovers on sale right now $2,400 for the Kawasaki and $3,000 for the Grom ... is the from worth the $600 more?
That's really for you to decide. Just look at re-sale values of the bikes and maybe that will help you decide.
They dont resale good. I would go with a ninja 400/z400 or a r3. I had a grom and going 55mph was so lame. Its great if you have friends to ride with then the grom is worth it.
Where can i get that Exhaust on the grom.
Hmmmmm....perhaps from the company that made this video...
What happened with z125? Its no longer the same bike
But can a 5’10 266 lb guy fit on one of these?
Fit? Sure. But you may be squeezing out every bit of juice from them.
