This is much needed information. I was overambitious about my career therefore I went abroad for masters. I put consistently long working hours for months, without taking needed breaks because I was very passionate about what I was doing. I thought nothing would happen, and thought in this age we can handle it and we should work hard in this age- I thought like that. But because of this overwork I started to suffer from insomnia, anxiety, pessimistic feelings and constant urge to quit the masters. I ,my friends nobody was able to recognise what was happening with me. They thought I had gone mad. I lost control of my mind and lost all enthusiasm for the work and started to procrastinate. Ultimately I couldn't handle it and dropped out of the masters and came back to India. Lost lakhs of money. I had actually experienced what is known as burnout.

I remember being suffering from Panic Attacks during my PhD, due to intense depression and anxiety. In 2020, I decided to just leave the PhD and moved back home. I spent the entire COVID pandemic going through therapy. Even after 5 years of therapy, I can only confidently say that I can handle about 70 % situations that life throws at me. Depression and Anxiety (and any other mental health disorders) are as terrible as any physical ailment, but not generally take seriously as such. Sure, my problem was much more fundamental (partly due to genetics and partly due to the environment I grew up in) which was exacerbated by the pressures put on me by my parents and peers, which is a story all too common in India.
But, I am lucky to find good therapists through my therapy, which led to an almost amazing improvement in my mental health. One of the worst things I noticed is that it is really difficult to make friends in this day and age. Perhaps, this is limited to me, but it is unlikely. There is also a loneliness epidemic going on in this age of social media (how ironic indeed).

Due to my PhD and various other reasons, I was anxious and stressed. Doctors finally concluded that it may be due to stress. Fortunately, no major damage happened because of God's grace and my age (31 years). Now, there is so much pressure on a person due to various reasons, such as career, family planning, and many other reasons. It is very important to manage your stress and anxiety these days.

Needs patience, giving others space to vent, understanding, listening without judging or advising, and a shoulder to lean on or a vacation and especially a forgiving heart ❤️ . Absolutely commendable job by Akash and the Deshbhakt team. Mental Health especially in India is such an ignored and undervalued problem, that we don't realise the toll that it is taking silently on our generation and will on the upcoming generations as well.
I currently work as a Product Manager at a Mental Health Tech Start Up, and I speak to users everyday. And let me tell you the reality and severity is far more and worse than it seems on the ground level. It's inspiring that people are slowly but surely starting to speak about it and seeking help. Also companies like us are on a mission to bridge that gap using technology as well as AI.
If anyone is going through any problem with their mental health, please remember it's absolutely OKAY TO NOT FEEL OKAY!! There is help out there.

The most important thing that one requires, for a good mental health is Love(Affection + Emotional Support) & Care.
An healthy adult is capable enough of taking care of himself/herself.
But when one doesn't get Emotional Support or is rather made fun of (on an everyday basis) that too by those very loved ones.... Not only he/she stops taking care of himself/herself.. but instead indulges in self harming activities & in activities that might harm others as well.... develops trust issues & even psychologists can't help in such cases because there are no medical advancements as of now that can rewire one's brain to make it forget the past traumas.
The reason being, the fight & flight response becomes activated & overtakes the prefrontal brain(logical brain).. & thus it impacts one's daily life terribly.

As you said in the video to go to a psychiatrist, there is nothing wrong in going to a psychiatrist but the treatment is incomplete without a psychologist.

The same with me. OCD treatment may take 1 or 2 years of medication. But my parents just stopped me from medication just after 3 months. Then after 2 years I urged them to meet a psychiatrist. Again they just stopped my medication after 3 months, and now along with ocd, I have got depression also. I have became extremely introvert and lost all my confidence.

I am very fortunate, I was suffering from anxiety from sometime, I used to get these anxiety attacks but could not talk to anyone regarding that, even if I tried to explain, no one actually understood me, everyone used to say you're being very negative, think positive, these are the words i used to get, I remember last year I had this attack, and luckily my father saw me in that condition, he asked me what happened but I just said I Dont know. I'll be honest I am very lucky that my papa took me to the counsellor, and I was daignosed with Genaralised Anxiety Disorder and Mild Depression, Honestly I am very thankful to my father that unlike others who would just get there daughters married off, he took the step in opposite direction and I am recovering now, I've been diagnosed with Hypothyrodism and Type 2 Diabetes at 28 years old, n the main culprit is I guess just stress, I won't say I am completely healed, but I am trying everyday to be better. All Thanks to my parents and brother, Thank You Akash sir, please do more episodes regarding mental health, lives of many people can be changed. Forever a Deshbhakt.

Give it your best shot and keep moving forward. When one door closes, another opens. If NEET does not work out choose alternate options in Healthcare like veterinarian, Ayurveda, pharma, physiotherapy, mental health specialists etc . Life has many options. We limit ourselves with our thoughts. Life is a marathon roller coaster ride. Enjoy the ride and embrace all the ups & downs. All experiences help us in ways we do not realize to be one a wiser and mature person

I overcame these diseases by just accepting them as they are. If you are suffering from any kind of mental issue do not lose hope.

If the question is why u live.
Then the one answer will be to experiencing....life is a journey.
    Wheather young, mid, old.
U have to charise moments and be impulsive.
Everyone is affected and fighting...within....we r human.
Why we call ourselves in this name.....answer is inside.

I was diagonised with Bipolar Disorder ( Manic Depression)in at the age of 33 years in the year 1999 .And it took 9 years for treatment to start in 2008.None of my family members could accept the problem. Finally after suffering for 9 years I myself met a psychiatrist. Fortunately I am fine with many cycles of Mood elevation followed by Depression.Took up cycling , went to Gym, gardening etc to keep myself fit n healthy. So far so good.Problem is the taboo attached with mental health issues.Unfortunately unlike other diseases there are no routine tests to detect mental health problems.I do journaling , listen to music , cooking .Fortunately none of my colleagues know my problem and I never took leave for this health reason except in 2022.Just like any other disease like heart disease or diabetes. Mental health issues can be managed with medicines n counselling . Need not feel shy or hide this health problem.

8:08 I remember an episode of Doraemon on anger management. There, Nobita (initially) and Suneo were constantly using a gadget called the "Chill Out Stick" on Gian. Everytime it was used, Gian's anger cooled down. After Suneo used it a lot on Gian, his anger eventually erupted like a volcano, which is actually an innocent but effective way of showing what r*pression of anger can do.
10:18 I don't agree that ADHD is induced, rather it's something which is depends upon genetics and NOT on smartphone usage. "The exact cause of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is not fully understood, although a combination of factors is thought to be responsible."
btw I'm not a regular viewer of this channel but came here after seeing the title

First of all, everyone should do 3 things daily:
    1. Sleep(8hrs)
    2. Balanced Diet
    3. Sufficient Exercise (1-2hrs)
Then the remaining time should be invested in productivity, chores, and most importantly chill.
We also should be devoid of any addictive substances (Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs, Too much sugar, Social Media, etc)
Being social is a necessity for our mental well-being because our brains are designed that way. We should actively try to be extroverts. Celebrate all our festivals. Technology is cutting us out from the world. And I also think we humans overvalue money in our lives. There are so many people who have too much money but no means to enjoy it.
