    10:03 On the contrary, Indians do more digital transactions in terms of volume than USA. You can even see the QR Code on the shop. Even the autowallahs use digital wallet. But, at the same time, it's good practice as a first time tourist to keep cash for emergency.

    Hospitality is kind of like second nature to Indians..it's been taught from the childhood. We present our best selves to the guests(doesn't matter if we are really good or bad people). It's almost hilarious in some situations. Say, in a household the family members are fighting or doing some other nasty stuff, or may be they are toxic to each other, but they will instantly become the most polite and gentle people if a guest arrives. Some people will keep their house dirty or messed up year around, but they will clean and arrange everything before a guest arrives. So, on many occasions it's primarily driven by the image consciousness and societal impression and the perception of others. Add to that our "easy to get amused" mindset, that makes us curious to anything that's even little out of the ordinary...foreigners being one of them. I am not saying everyone is like that, there are many people who genuinely like caring about guests and strangers. After all "Atithi Debo Bhava"(Guests are Divine) is a core belief of Indian culture along with "Basudhaiba Kutumbakam"(Every people from everywhere on earth are relatives)

    India is to say the least , Huge .....😅 I mean honestly I live in India for like 10 years now and i am still surprised how good many places are(unexplored by me) . India can be called a land of adventure tourists cause you see it's not like a typical no problem just road to destination journey or tourism ...it's actually quite much bigger than that . There's journey , people's , festivals , traditions, trains , metros , auto rickshaws , etc etc ....Glad i will get to see how you guys experiences and love for my motherland ...i hope by end of your tour you both understand why it's simply called Incredible India , so no spoilers .
    Hospitality is like a in built quality for us indians. Btw about the veg , i promise you few days in and you won't be able to differentiate or miss non veg when you eat so many i mean literally 100s of dishes made with pure veg ....but no worries ...india also has biryani and all other non veg "mouth watering" stuffs for you know if you still need it . I personally am blessed to be able to enjoy both and you will get to know what I am talking about very soon in your journey throughout india.

    Hint- it's a festival between sisters and brothers, the sisters (could be real, cousin, sometimes classmates, female relatives, or close friends) tie that thread as a mark of love and brother promises to always proyect her forever no matter what, and also gifts her something.

    Hehe, as an Indian and a Delhiite, it's fun to see my city from the eyes of foreigners and see them making sense of the messy yet endearing locales of this country. Hope you guys have an enriching time here. Are you going to be traveling to various parts, like North and South, or are you going to explore more of North India? Try visiting Punjab, the Golden Temple, Wagah Border. Awesome experiences.

That is "RAKHI" or "RAKHSHA BHANDHAN" IT is festival of brothers and sisters in which sisters tie rakhi around their hand which signifies that she is asking her brother to protect her, to support her etc. And brothers take vow to protect them in any problem they (sisters) if get into any trouble.

    To be honest, in India, the digital payments ecosystem is more developed than in most European nations or other places I have been to, thanks to the ubiquity of UPI and online wallets. So when Rhett says he had to withdraw cash since all transactions were cash-based, you could even see a QR code being displayed at the tiny local grocery store where he paid via cash. Hope you guys visit the former capital of India (Kolkata) as well, instead of the mainstream Delhi-Agra-Rajasthan-Goa tour!

    • @RhettandClaire
      @RhettandClaire  2 года назад +2

      How is it more developed though. It doesn’t even work without the user needing an Indian bank account and phone number. We’ve travelled all over the world and never had to draw cash because everywhere accepts Visa cards and Apple Pay which we use on our Apple Watch. I’m not sure how it can be called more developed than most European nations.

    • @TarangaDatta
      @TarangaDatta 2 года назад +4

      @@RhettandClaire just because European nations/ the US/ Canada etc and their digital payments ecosystem is reliant on Apple and it leaves their citizens handicapped in terms of digital payments in India, one cannot conclude India’s behind in terms of digital payments. Although Apple is growing in India, it is yet to reach the majority of the population who have Android devices and do not require Apple Pay. Indians mostly use Google Pay/ PhonePe/ PayTM for their online transactions which have UPI, wallet, payments bank as well as other features. As a foreigner, you can use your international cards for POS transactions in India. If you want to avail PayTM/ other online wallets, you may load money using the Airtel Payments Bank account which you can easily obtain on getting an Airtel SIM card at a nominal fee. Do the two systems operate differently? Yes. But can any person easily perform online payments/ transactions in India? Also yes. Just because the Indian system is different from that of a few countries, doesn’t make it inferior in quality/ technicality/ data privacy. Apple Pay wasn’t operationalised keeping the privacy aspect in mind, among others reasons. I could take a calculated guess and claim that the number of users/ daily transactions of online payments in India is more than the entire population of perhaps Europe and the US combined. And if such a massive system can function robustly, I’m sure certain things are rightly in place…just as they should be.
