- Wish you could have gorgeous, subtle, natural highlights/lowlights without spending hundreds of dollars and countless hours at the salon?! I have been using this SUPER easy technique of bleaching and covering my gray hair in the comfort of my own home. I use Loreal Frost & Design to highlight and Loreal Triple Protection Color to cover my gray hair and create lowlights. I have attempted multiple techniques to accomplish this look, but what I show you is the easiest yet. I always leave the salon disliking SOMETHING about my experience. I have ZERO PROFESSIONAL TRAINING. But with these drugstore boxed hair products, I'm able to accomplish the looks I want, EVERY SINGLE TIME for $20!!!

Loreal Paris Hair Color- www.target.com...
This is the best lowlight/highlight technique video! The results look so natural. You are beautiful btw!
This is how I do my "hand painted" balayage and then very fine "baby lights"!
It looks very natural. Beautiful hair!
This is such a beautiful result. I used to do my highlights like that a long time ago. I'm considering some high and lowlights now because my regrowth is coming in a mixture of grey and silver... not sure whether to tone the highlights to platinum even! Considering my options, but this video helped a lot.
Nice job! Thank You for putting excitement back into my hair coloring routine. God bless you!
Good morning, fantastic technique, I’m looking for some natural color for my hair , after a color correction, has been a journey I’m glad my hair is healthy after 2 sessions, your hair looks gorgeous, Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your technique!! You make it look so easy!
I’ve done the same thing many times. Btw I went for consultation today and the stylist said it will cost me $450😱😱 cause I have extra thick hair and it’s curly but not tight curls. Lol I I’m going to do exactly what you did because it will not be my first time. Great job.
What color of the frost & design bleach kit did you use? Your hair came out looking great! The video was very simple! Which is just what I was looking for!
Well done!! Very impressive :) it looks great
Thank you!
Wow, it turned out amazing👍😍😍 good job. Thank you so much!
You have pretty, long hair, you look great. Thank you for showing us the easy way to do it.
Thank you for this, I'm definitely going to give this a try 👍🏻
Awesome that makes me so happy!
Wow that looks it costs $250, and professional did it! 👍👍
You are so sweet! Thank you!
Your technique is awesome and your so gorgeous ❤
So helpful! Thanks so much!!! 🥰
Awee this makes me so happy!
Turned out beautiful 😊
But you are damaging the shaft of your hair by rubbing it back-and-forth.
Also you can pull your hair through a cap to have the balayage look and it’s much faster and even.
If you haven’t tried it there is several tutorials here on RUclips.
Just starting your video now but u can easily use the daily color stamp for little grey hairs !!
Looks amazing! Thank you.
Beautiful!! You've convinced me I can do it!! Thank you..
Looks lovely your hair colour
Thanks so much!
Nice results 👌
I do the same thing with highlight, I wonder how it’d work with Red over
Thank you..this is what I had in mind to do.
You look absolutely stunning ❤! Can you please please I lost directions 😢can you just tell me order? I know the 2 powders n the bottle then the ? Please help sincerely Susan from pa 🙏
I did my hair loved this video my hair came out great !!!!!!!!please do video on how to use toner please ❤️👍🏼👍🏼
Will do VERY SOON!
Thanks 🙏
Result is just amazing ❤❤
Just a one question did you just put a bleach on random strand of hair or using any technique??
Amazing Literally 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 good job 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you!
So nice and easy.. great video..🥰
Thank you Becky your adorable!
Awe thank you so much! Good luck!
I'm confused.. at the end you wrote no need for toner? But then you added something on your hair.. was that toner? Or the hair dye for all your hair? If it was the hair dye then you applied that on top of your highlights? Have you ever tried foils?
1.bleaching highlights the way she did. Example whit color 8.1
2.wash and dry
Tomorow :
3. put darker color all over hair and roots. example 7N Garnier for 25 minutes
4.Wash
2.mask
Beautiful natural highlights .
Tadaaah you done
😉👍
Good job. Suits you.
I thought it came with a shampoo and toner???
What toner would you suggest?
What shampoo to maintain the colour would you also recommend?
Thank you! I have only used the wella T18 toner from Sally’s and the best purple shampoo- Drybar Blonde Ale Brightening Shampoo!
I am sorry but why does she dye her hair again after highlights? :) I want to make that as well but I need to undestand 😊
How long did you leave the bleach in for? Your hair came out amazing btw. ❤
I leave it in for 30-45 minutes on each side. Make sure to time yourself, so it is even. Thank you so much!😊
Early greying may be as a result of bleaching
What hair color she use ?
Just gonna try it. Lol . Thanks for your replies . I deleted all mine . Your hair looks great on you .
I was wondering why I couldn’t reply to you! Lol it’ll turn out great!!
@@beckymanna8499 I over replied . Anyway The roots are fine but my friend going to show me how to do foils .,she says she doesn’t suggest to do it this wat because it can cause the hair to look blotchy . Glad yours turned out good .
@@passadonut yea it could if you aren’t careful for sure. I’m just too lazy to use foils but it’s probably best lol
Wait you highlighted then colored over them? Can't say I ever saw that before.
Yup!
It's how I do mine too
can i bleach first like you and then use dark ash blonde from revlon to colour my whole hair?? I have black hair towards the root and brownish towards the end.do I have to use any purple shampoo after bleach?? Or bleach-ash blonde box dye allover ??
It all depends on the end result that you’re hoping to achieve? It may take a few dyes to get to an ash blonde if you have black hair. I would hold off on the purple shampoo during the first wash. But that’s just from personal experience. If you use ash blonde, you’ll have medium brown roots and light ash brown tips. It’s not going to all be one color. Still sounds prettu
When you do the face framing do you also put bleach a few inches from the roots or do you go all the way up to the roots? Thank you.
I personally put them all the way up to the roots 😊
@@beckymanna8499 thank you bunches
So what you've done is tone your highlights using regular hair color. Generally it is best to just use a toner or a demi-permanent color, which has a lower strength developer. This method seems to have worked fine for you, but I do want to point out that doing this can severely damage highlighted hair, since the highlighting process weakens hair. If some people follow this example, they could have some breakage, or fried - looking hair (the strands that were highlighted).
Good to know! I just always place dye over the highlights because toner never works out for me. Not sure why?!
@@beckymanna8499 Tonor will only tone the actual level of the hair. I would say your highlights are mostly a level 8 or maybe even a 7. (you might have a few bits that got lighter than an 8 but most of it looks like 8 or 7.) If you were using a toner for level 9 or 10 (a lot lighter, the 10 would be a very pale yellow) then that toner would not be able to tone your level 8 highlights. So next time try a toner that's a level 8.
@@aprilm9551 thank you so much for the tips!!! I will most definitely try that out.
Think your hair looks fabulous. Do you wait between highlighting and colouring or do this on the same day? I’m thinking of trying this with John Freida hair foam in dark golden blonde 7G to cover my greys and a few highlights Light Natural Blonde 9N. Do you think this will work?
I do it all in the same evening. And I say evening, because it takes a whole like 4 hours. I bleach. Then wash and blow dry my hair. THEN I dye all my hair with the brown. I did this with lighter colors and it gave me the same affect. Natural and subtle. Let me know how it works out!
@@beckymanna8499 thanks I'll give it a try and let you know. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
What is the product you are using at 4:28? Your hair looks beautiful and very professional!
That was the loreal ash brown hair dye thats on the cover. Sorry for not mentioning that!
@@beckymanna8499 I thought you colored your hair at the beginning of the video. So you put the brown color over the highlights?
@@cecilewhite1897 exactly!
@@beckymanna8499 ok thx!
How do you keep the bleach from bleaching the other pieces when they just sit on top of the other pieces? every time I watch these videos I am surprised it doesn't effect the other pieces. it's looks beautiful.
Thank you!!! It took me some practice but bleach dries pretty quick, unlike hair dye. I need to make another video to show in depth how exactly I keep the hair from touching one another. I’ve changed up my technique, so keep a look out for that soon 😊😊😊
@@beckymanna8499 Thanks for responding, I will look out for more video's.
I'm new to this. So you used highlight and color or am I wrong? I typically have highlights done about 1x a yr but my greys just started to come in. I am looking to just highlight my hair without color. Any help would be appreciated!
I begin by highlighting with the bleach kit. Then I apply color all over. For grey hair, I have started to apply the dye that area first, let it sit for 20 mins, and then apply the dye all over.
Wait...!!!! did you highlight first?
Yup!
That color is light ash brown?
Yup!
What if I already colored my hair but want high lights or low lights? How do prevent brassiness?
Stick with the ash colors to prevent brassy tones
@@beckymanna8499 thanks Becky for replying. I colored my hair dark brown a week ago and after watching your video I want to add some high or low lights, but don't know which ones would look good. You said ash i'll check it out. Thanks
@@shinearsh6781 please let me know how it goes!
What highlight kit did you use ? In this video the name and no. Please .
L’Oréal frost and glow
@@beckymanna8499 frost and glow is revlon and frost and design is L’Oréal?
@@maryfroth ah yes. L’Oréal frost and design! Sorry.
what toner did you use afterwards?
I didn’t use any toner 😌
@@beckymanna8499 that last product you used wasn't toner?
@@ozzyoz5210 just L’Oréal hair dye!
❤❤❤❤❤
What colors did you use? I’m confused. I’m med. brown hair color would like highlights what do you recommend?
I used the L’Oréal frost and design highlighting kit and the L’Oréal hair dye in ash medium brown :)
@@beckymanna8499 did you use h85 or h65 or another one ? On the L’Oréal frost and design highlighting ?
@@maryfroth H85 :)

@@maryfroth I’m so excited. DM me the results on Instagram @beckymanna !

Hi! Im wondering how long you leave the frost and glow on?!? 🙏
For about 45 minutes 😁
Amazing
Your grays aren't visible!!! You have great hair.
The liessss lol jk
I don’t even see any highlights. Why would u put color over bleach? SMH
Because it gives me the look I want: Natural, subtle highlights 😊
Hun it didn’t make sense you done your highlights first you washed out then you done a full head colour how comes your highlights weren’t covered with the full head colour you done second time round??😳
The highlighted pieces are bleached, so those lighter tones still remain lighter even after dying them. This is just how I do it because toner never works for my hair. Andddd I have a ton of grey hair. So this process works best for my hair 😊
She only left dye for 10 min
@@k.k.d.9201 Also, I might add, I would ONLY use the stronger developer that comes in the box ON THE ROOTS (as you need a stronger developer to dye your grey hair), and I would leave it longer there (20-26 minutes), THEN add regular water to the remaining mix to dilute the developer for the rest of the hair; (If you add regular water from the faucet to the remaining mix in the bowl, instead of 20 vol developer, you now have 10 vols, perfect for a quick toner of the same ash color, for the last 10 minutes).
So you do highlights FIRST and then ALL over color? That's the way my salon does it but a lot of stylists say all over color first. I like your way better.
Thank you! I just love it because its quick, easy, and great for beginners/ non professionals.
too much work. i rather pay
😂😂😂 Nothing wrong with that either. I’m just too cheap. Lol
K. I’m at 3:20…. You my dear have AUHMAZING EYEBROWS 😏❤🫶🏼❤️🔥
Ok watching your video (which has restored my faith in at home highlighting…EZ PEAZY!)
Edit 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥹
This is amazing. Thank you for this video. I was searching on RUclips how to highlight my hair and your video is the best one, you explain it so good and simple.
Awe this made my day 😊
My hair used to be about level 7 its gotten darker over the years it's babe 5 now. I will try the caramel frost & glow. You have beautiful hair.
I'm 50 but.... I'll try. 👍🙂
I love it !!I'm going to try tomorrow
U look 30 year old...
It looks beautiful! I'm gonna try this technique tomorrow. I also tend to like my own highlights more - I just haven't done it on my hair when its this long.🤞
You got this! Can’t wait to hear how it comes out!
Thank you , i was desperately searching for some good video on hair color and yours is the best video i came across ❤
OH MY GOODNESS! That makes me SOOOO HAPPY!!!!
Awesome technique. Great cut as well, did you cut it yourself too?
No need for foils? It looks amazing!
I hate foils. But definitely an option 😊
You low light the same way you highlighted in video ?
This is the only video I've seen that doesn't start on the top of the head. And all others say to stop at 1/4 to 1/2 inch from scalp. I'm not saying your way is wrong. I've just watching a lot of video's preparing to highlight mine for the first time.
it looks grey to me not golden and warm
I love those results! beautiful. I have a question, doesn't frost and glow come in different shades? which one did you use I am brunette like you, going grey. i would love to make subtle highlights to blend them in. great job and i loved your "everybody loves Raymond" music, lol. you inspired me, thank you so much. ❤️
ur hair colour is?
Does it destroy you hair to bleach those stands over and over?
how do you get the back parts?
🥰
Beautiful! Thank you,
Would this work if I wanted to dye my hair a chestnut brown color?
The highlights might be a tad brassy. So you’ll have to use some purple shampoo to neutralize those highlighted pieces.
@@beckymanna8499 so if I use an ash hair color like yours do I still need to use the purple shampoo?
@@carolinarodriguez5752 not wish an ash dye, from my personal experience. 😊
Gorgeous!
