    if you want to add some heat, cover them first in folia or a plastic bag. When bleach gets dry it stops working so keep it wet

      mehwish qureshi bleach does damage hair. But I only damages the parts of it that you bleach, not the hair that grows after.

      @jas5609 5 лет назад +12

      Adrianna Austin I tried this on my hair and my hair is rather darker than the girl in the video, it lifted really well for me and it didn’t show up orange or yellow when the bleach lifted my hair like it would in most other cases when it comes to dying and bleaching your own hair. This was also my first time dying my hair and I’ve had this kit for so long and was contemplating whether to try it or not, after seeing this video I gave it a go and I am in love with my hair and I am so happy I got it, I did have my doubts at first but I’ve never been happier with my hair. I’m no professional either, going into it I had no real technique whatsoever, but my hair looks like it was professionally done!

Beautiful ( your make-up too;))! Thank you for this tutorial. A product that I have used for years to highlight was taken off the market. I have been looking for a new product. You helped me make my decision. Along with your instructions I will also use a plastic clear cap ( found at Sally's) after putting the highlight mixture on my hair - then blow dry. The heat in cap really helps lift the highlight. Thanks again.

      I tried to get all of the holes marked with the black circles, I'm sure I skipped a few in the back since I couldn't see very well. On the face framing parts I actually pulled from both the marked holes and the unmarked ones.

    Did you achieve that color with what’s in the kit only or were other hair colors used? Is toner needed? I bought one today but I’m scared I won’t get the same beautiful result as you did.

    • @DeanndraNunnery
      @DeanndraNunnery  4 года назад +1

      Yes just the kit only! I have used this kit in several other videos and gotten the same color results. No need for toner or anything else. I will suggest a purple shampoo and conditioner just to keep the color from getting brassy but as far as dye/bleach you should be good to go with the kit. I still get nervous right before doing highlights lol but this kit never fails! I’ll use it until the day I can’t anymore.

      Deanndra Nunnery when you did the sides of your hair with the cap you only poked holes through the upper half of each side? Just wanna make sure!! & Did you do the same for the back of the head with doing the upper half of the holes or the whole thing?? (Does it matter what holes are poked or should I rotate between both marked and unmarked holes?)

    • @DeanndraNunnery
      @DeanndraNunnery  4 года назад

      I pulled through the holes all the way down on the sides and the back. I would stick to the same holes all the way around. Just so you don’t accidentally have a side that’s uneven.

      Deanndra Nunnery thanks so much, I want the highlights but the warmer tones look amazing on you, on me not so much 😂 Would you recommend “toning” with a Demi permanent ash dye afterwards, in my case, to tone the warmth a little bit?

    • @DeanndraNunnery
      @DeanndraNunnery  4 года назад

      No, color doesn’t lift color. If your hair is as dark as mine was and it comes up warm use a purple or blue toner. Purple gets rid of yellow undertones and blue cancels out orange.

    • @Lee-wb8mt
      @Lee-wb8mt 4 года назад

      Deanndra Nunnery I’ve been struggling to find a plain purple or blue toner, I have both purple and blue shampoo, but I know that’s for minimising yellow or brassy tones after colouring or lifting hair, but I would love to know of an actual blue toner that I can buy.

    • @Lee-wb8mt
      @Lee-wb8mt 4 года назад

      Deanndra Nunnery I saw a video by a professional stylist who suggested Demi permanent color with ash to tone orange tones because the Demi permanent uses developer to temporarily deposit colour on the hair’s surface.

    • @DeanndraNunnery
      @DeanndraNunnery  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you!! I think it is because I pulled hair throughout my whole head so it makes the dark hair look a lot lighter. You can always pull hair through the unmarked holes too so that you're highlighting more hair and it will cancel out the black. I did all the holes on the top and just the marked holes on the rest of my head because I wanted more highlights up there. Hope this helps!! ❤️❤️❤️
