Nice! I remember staring down that hill troll the first time wondering how I was ever going to deal with it! My go-to was always the direct damage from Gandalf until I got better at the game haha.
I want to note a few things:
- Just like with Éowyn's action ability, you can save Mendor's Support until after staging and you don't have to play it before staging.
- When a player commits characters to the quest, that player's characters are all considered to be committed simultaneously, meaning if that player's characters have abilities that trigger when they are committed to the quest, the player may resolve these abilities in whatever order they want. So for example, if a player controls both Theodred and Aragorn heroes (like your spirit/leadership deck does), it doesn't matter what order they are committed to the quest, because the player can always choose to use Theodred's ability first to give Aragorn a resource and then use Aragorn's ability second. (But you are correct that if Theodred is committed to the quest by the first player, he can't give a resource to a hero controlled by the second player because the second player hasn't had a chance to commit any characters to the quest yet.)

For how clunky some of the early quest design could be in this game, this quest remains a true classic. So well designed, and so thematic. It really feels like you’re sailing down the river in the second part ❤

Great game! Dont forget the victory X encounter cards like gladden fields don’t go to the discard pile. They are nasty enough that you dont want to see them again.

For future reference, at 24:47 when the Ungoliant's Swarm came into play, it entered during the Resolve Enemy Attacks step of the combat phase, so it would not get a shadow card as that step has already passed. Didn't end up mattering here as the card had no shadow effect, but it would suck to have lost the game here to a bad shadow effect that shouldn't have happened.
Ohhh interesting, I thought every time an enemy attacked it got a shadow card! Have I been playing wrong this whole time? 😂
@@NelsonAllOverCards 99% of the time, enemies do get shadow cards. This situation is a little special because an enemy enters play after shadow cards are dealt, but it is not specifically given a shadow card. Enemies get shadow cards only when they are dealt them at the start of the combat phase or they make an attack outside of the normal framework of the game, such as making an additional attack from a Shadow Effect or When Revealed effect. It's a little weird and there are only a few quests where you can get in this situation, so it probably has never come up for you before.

@@NelsonAllOverCards I'm playing solo two handed . I have tried true solo but I can never get the balance right . I have played a good few scenarios since the release of the revised sets but it's my first time playing campaign mode

Early on (ruclips.net/video/BcdS-x-csQo/видео.html) you use a resource from Beravor to pay for Horn of Gondor. Is that one not from the Tactics deck? Also that removes an early resource you'll need for Forest Snare round 2? Edit: nm looks like you realized and fixed it!

you did deal the shadow cards my mistake😭but the travel cost on the Necromancers Pass is the first player must discard 2 cards from their hand at 😖random 😩to travel here😥
