Armenia have old Su30 but they can't operate it due to lack of missiles and outdated equipments. We have a golden chance to offer their Su30 upgradation upto MKI standard. What we upgrade in Super Sukhoi project , offer them almost similar

I was thinking the same......I'll be a great opportunity.
If war broke out between Armenia and Azerbaijan, then those Armenian SU30mki will outperform Azerbaijani jets with Astra mk1, mk2, Rudram 1 missiles. This can be used as marketing by India, to sell missiles to others who operates SU30.
Wrong info brother, Armenia does not have old Su-30, they are operating Su-30SM since 2019 which are much more modern.
Although their problem lies with the lack of new A2A and A2G weapons.
They have plane but without weapons, Bharat can help them with missiles and bombs.

Are they able to operate those few Su-30s effectively.
Ironically their country's size make it more ideal to operate single engined, short take off and landing, point defence fighters like the Tejas MK1A.
They are on negative terms with Russia for not supporting them during their conflict with Azerbaijan.
If these Su-30s jets cannot be armed, India should offer to purchase them and deliver double the number of Tejas MK1 and MK1A equipped with Astra and Rudra missiles.
The weight of numbers is what they need for their airforce to have an effect on any potential war.
India should run this line for another 5 years. To support our depleting strength, we should acquire another 60 su30 mki . Because God knows when will be MMRCA or will not be .
We should try to construct another Tejas line in different locations. We should be prepared to make 40 Tejas mk2 after 2030 looking at china strength

the Su-30MKI is the best variant of the entire Su line.
The original MKI definitely isn't the best variant of the Sukhoi line, that would probably be the Su-57.
The best Flanker would probably be the J16, and the best Su-30 would be the SM.
With the upgrades however, the Su-30MKI would be better than the SM.

Su-30MKI is the best of the Sukhoi variant because it is well integrated with a multitude of weapons including some western systems and has a new generation AESA radar. It is also integrated with Netra I AWACS and soon Netra II.
The supply chain, manufacture and maintanence has been localized in India at great cost as well.
The hype around Su-57 is just that. Even the Russian air-force is reluctant to buy it prefering instead its Su-30s and Su-35s.
The Su-30MKI is the best Sukhoi of the lot overall not only for India and Russia but for the countries which have purchased Su-30s as well.

SMs do not integrate many of the weapons and platforms that have been developed for MKI.
MKI is the most advanced variant of the Sukhoi series especially with the new AESA radar in the Super-Sukhoi upgrade.
Beyond that, the Su-30MKI is a tested unit with many of the bugs ironed out over a decade, something no smaller country will go through on its own with the Su-57.
India is best positioned to export the MKI (super-sukhoi) version in the heavy fighter category.

Even the US wants to maintain a 4.5 generation aircraft fleet. The reason is the operation cost. Operating F35 cost around 40000 dollars per hour while F16 cost around 25000 dollars. A countries airforce has limited budget. I think 4.5 gen aircraft will continue to be used as work horse for BVR ground attacks.
I dont know about export, but India should develop an indigenous SU-30 with full composites and stealth coating with Indian subsystems. This should act as a sasta Rafale. This should support us till the Tejas family of aircrafts are fully ready to take over the main role.
Stealth coating won't make su 30 to J20. Airframe and weapon carrying slots are hurdles to make it stealth.

The US has battle proven platforms like F15, F16 n F/A18. N for over 30yrs they have upgraded them to a level where they evn come with semi stealth capabilities. So basically like a 4.5+ Gen. Yet they proposed for a new 4.5 gen aircraft to be designed from scratch. So if a military that advance still wants a 4.5 evn though they have mastered stealth, I think India should also consider it.
All that is very good, but unless it is flown with improved or new variant of engines, it will not be able to deliver its full potential, considering the increase demand of power required for all improvements.
Jus a question. Why can't India obtain a licensed production where they build the entire aircraft. It's gonna keep all the indian sub companies busy. I mean we have mastered composite material, general avionics, weapons, radars, this would make integrating indian weapons easier. Plus until the kaveri is tested on a su30 test bed, we could still assembly the Russian engine with indian parts. This would make it cheaper n easy to acquire n probably keep the assembly line busy until the next projects get a go.

There are certain mission profiles, that Tejas can't handle.
MKIs can do those.
You can't replace MKI's importance with the potential of Tejas.

Instead of exporting, India first get total TOT of body and engine of SU30 That is more than enough for the defense of the country, and 72 new Su30 that is SUPER SU30 manufacture in India, then start exporting to other countries
India should ask Russia for new engine for SU 30 to be exported via Indian soil
