Been using Logic Pro for 2 years, making a living by it, still learned a lot from this video. you're the best.
Happy to help. 👍
Can you teach my how you started to make a living with music?? I would be extremely greatful 🙏🏻
@@ssj360fan13 score music for film and television or make 50 type beats every 8 hours
Great stuff! Not sure if anyone else wrote this, but if you option click on one track stack, it will open and close all in case you don't want to add a key command.
I can't believe how long it took me to make bounce in place a consistent habit in my workflow. Seriously guys, just use it, makes arranging a whole lot easier and forces you to commit rather than waste time on constant unnecessary tweaking.
Side note: at 13:48, you can also hold shift + ctrl while dragging the mouse to access the curve tool.
I'm only halfway through listening to these while I work and now I can't wait to get back into Logic tomorrow to start getting these into the muscle memory. Great vid dude! SOOOO helpful
I'm about to change for starting mixing in Logic and finding this tutorial is already one of the best things from 2021, no doubt! Huge thanks man!
This is one of the BEST LogicX tutorials that I've ever seen....Thank You!
tips for those who are a little more advanced
1) opt + k gives you the key command menu. You can search + edit key commands here. I tend to ask myself how I could do each task faster, so every time I go to do something, I check to see if there's a key command for it. There always is.
2) if you have a number pad on the side of your keyboard and use markers, each of the numbers corresponds to a marker. absurdly fast navigation + moves the cycle to your selected marker
3) screensets. this is better than command + ~ because you don't need multiple windows open and can jump straight to the window you want. You can make a screenset correspond to each window (arrangement, midi, audio, console, etc) and then switch using the numbers on the top of your keyboard
4) For the V command, you can also turn on plug-in window linking (the chain link icon at the top right). This means that when you select a given plug-in, it will close the one open before it. super useful in my opinion, because I rarely work with multiple plug-ins at the same time when I'm making a song.
5) Tap tempo - You can access the key command menu and assign a key to tap tempo. when you tap it, it will adjust the project tempo to whatever you're tapping. I did * on the numpad
Super helpful refresher - even some of the little stuff i needed to hear again to make my life easier! 😅
Brilliant list, memorising all of these will speed up the workflow of any budding producer!
One shortcut that is invaluable to me for chopping up audio is ctrl + < or >, Logic moves to the next available biggest transient and then this usually follows cmd + t.
For anyone chopping up samples (especially drums) on LPX this is a must!
Excellent tip, thanks mate!
thanks for that
THANKS!!! This video has a goldmine of info that is so useful. Much appreciated you took the time to put this together. Kathryn
Awesome video very informative!
Extremely helpful short cuts, thanks for sharing your knowledge!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video! Thank you for all of the useful info. Somewhat new to recording and this had helped the work flow within minutes haha. 👌🏽
Love this! I use Synth sometimes so I really loved those two piano roll commands around 18:00. Also this video in particular could’ve greatly benefited from RUclips’s new Time Chapters/Markers. Highly recommend looking into that for future 10+ minute videos.
This was extremely helpful thank you man!
You are amazing for making this. Thank God for you this is just what I needed!
Glad we could help!
Amazing video, so helpful. Thank you very much for this!
Wow amazing video!! Thank you!
thank you so much for sharing
Lots of very useful stuff here. I was already aware of most of this, but I'm really happy to learn more, and think it's awesome that you're helping others learn.......Big Karma Coupons dude!
Awesome video!
Here’s a few others that build on shortcuts you mentioned
Shift-tab- rename previous track
Click on region then hit shift- move region up/down without changing timeline position
Ctrl-opt-, or .- set loop range by previous/ next markers.
When closing a plugin using the x in the window- if you hold shift and click, it closes all open plugin windows.
Also, you can navigate tracks in the mixer with the left and right arrows, and in custom key commands, you can set commands to open and close insert slots, so I set opt-1 to open/ close first plugin slot, opt-2 for second, etc
There’s surely many more! One positive in this pandemic has been the opportunity to dig into aspects of logic, or whatever program you use, that you usually wouldn’t have time to do. Thanks for you video though, there were quite a few in there I didn’t know that are really helpful.
COMMAND T WTF R U SERIOUS!?!?!?! HOW AM I JUST NOW SEEING THIS VIDEO!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS HAS HELPED ME IMMENSELY.

Really REALLY Easy
SUPER EASY
Love your videos. My go to for mixing tips. Thank you.
Nice video! The Marquee tool only came on with command + dragging because that was the tool selected as your second tool if you had cut or mute or any other tool there, that would be the tool gets used once you click press command
You Rock Man!!
Super helpful
Love it...!!
thanks brother
Shift+ Command+ D Creates a track stack so it makes sense that you would make Shift+ Command+ F to open and close them since D and F are right next to one another.
#34 is out of this world lol GREAT VID btw👍🏻
This might be helpful to folks. For the automation curve tool, rather than switching with the toolbar menu (T+W) and then (T+T) to get back, if you hold shift+control, the pointer changes to the curve tool. When you let go of shift+control, it changes back to the pointer. I find this to be much more efficient. You can create the curve and then quickly change back to the pointer to move the nodes, or whatever else needs to be done next. Hope this helps somebody.
I hit the like button before i played the video bruh! 😄
Great!
Thanks 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks
AWESOME Video!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Super Informative , Pls do a video on some Power Custom Shortcuts , Tx
Ah finally a professional that knows what he’s talking about, brotha thank you so much for the video, know if you could only tell me how to move channels from one side of my Logic mixer to the other or move them where I would like them to be I’d be in heaven lol thank you again!
Thanks for this video by the way after renaming all Track you can select all regions and press Command + Shift + N to rename the regions .
I think you meant Ctrl + Shift + N At least that is what works for me.
@@Dominerika yeah for me its Comand shift Lol how every :D
This was so useful. I will save it in my ”best of Logic” file! Thank’s a lot!💥🎧🙏🏻🎶
Happy to help!
Awesome video thanks mate, but i think u should use a de-esser next time for your voice.
Thank you 😊 ❤️ so much brother
No problem 😊
Great Content 👍❤️ Mine Fav part was Track stacks bcoz I also love to use track stacks ..
The cmd + mouse thing depends on what tool you have selected as secondary tool. Personally I never use the marquee tool like that. I use “T” (tool selector) and then select the tool I want with another key. I think it’s easier as I instantly get a dropdown menu with all tools displaying the keys. So for instance if I wanna use the scissors tool I first press T and then I. I’ve used it for so long now that it goes pretty much automatically and I never think about it :)
But the Marquee tool is so useful! Combined with option dragging it's so easy to create duplicate parts of regions that you want too.
This video needs more reactions it’s best in this 🔥 🔥
"it's no secret that the secret to a fast workflow is..." lol
Excellent topic
Consider myself a pretty competent Logic guy.... Things I Learned today: - , and . for moving bars, chop note overlay, force legato, the solo a single track thing, curved automation tool. Thanks man, much appreciated. Do you have a tutorial on groove templates or swing quantizing?
Thank you 🙏🙏😘❤️ sir from India 🙏....
Best logic video ever
You are the true MVP
Yes boi thank uuuu
Thanks! And Z for zoom in/out something!
Thanks so much. Is there a way to link the piano roll and the region window together so when they are in the same screen they play the cursor at the same with the same zoom in value? Thanks
bro i will just going 2 call you the god of logic, dammn great video brother
Great video any chance you know when using automation how to set a specific value by typing them in instead of moving it with a mouse???
Fabulous video. Some excellent ones here. Frustratingly, I can't work out how to do the first of the "heavy lifters" - highlighting part of a region. Help!
So right underneath your tempo and time signature in the arrangement window, you'll see your two Tool dropdown menus. The one on the right is by default set to the mighty MARQUEE TOOL which you access by holding command and clicking/dragging. There are a bunch of great youtube videos on the many uses of the Marquee Tool, it's the cat's pajamas.
