Rap was not huge in 1990. Hip Hop and New Jack were the thing at the time.
That is true, but the film felt dated before Hip Hop was a big thing.
1998 would be the latest for a movie like this to be made since Pop Music exploded around the time. 2003's idea of cool were McG's Charlie's Angels, Punk'd and Jackass.
I lost it at Sweet 'n Low Knight.
I can say this with a straight face. This is the absolute worst movie that any of the Friends cast members have been in BY FAR!

The best jokes in this entire theme month are those involving the Friends characters reacting to their own movies.

Couldn't possibly be, since he found me. I mean, I'm no Zelda Scott (I couldn't pull off her Game Crazy speak if my life depended on it!). It's a really bad joke. He said it mostly out of shock. We watched it weeks ago, and we're still laughing about it.
I almost feel like I am owed an apology from someone for this movie.

(The baseball comes flying in to the Friends footage and hits Pheobe, causing an explosion. When the smoke clears, all that is left of Pheobe is the lower half of her now bleeding torso.)

Not even the movie Ed; erectile dysfunction is more dignified than this movie.
I find it hilarious that even a bad comedy film from 2003 was using Trump as a punchline.

Occasionally the pitch and subsequent corporate discussion approving said pitch, is probably more interesting than the final product. I feel that this movie proves my thesis. Thank you Cinema Snob for adding this treasure to this month's last gasp of the wonderful wild world of Friendsuary.

Halfway through the review, and I can already tell: White/Caucasian/American people will come to look upon this film with shame, in the same way that the African-American community looks upon SOUL PLANE in shame. On behalf of non-asshole white people, I apologize to any black American who somehow saw this film, and as hard as we try to wash the bloody remains...THE SCARS WILL NEVER LET US FORGET.
You can add "Who's Your Caddy" in the mix. That movie was painful to my soul.

This is definitely one of those movies where if you're friend genuinely likes it and owns it you have two options before you: completely severing ties with that friend, or staging an immediate intervention. Either way, it's going to be painful and the memories that this is a thing will haunt you forever.
I think Marci would have rapped better if she had a cold like Pheobe in that Friends episode...
Also, the Latino woman that pulled the gun at the club never gets a comeuppance! It's like they ran out of movie!

I can say one thing.... this movie really makes me want to listen to the backstreet boys again. Love them when I was growing.

I saw this movie about seven or eight years ago and my mind has worked tirelessly since to purge it from my memory...this brought all of that back like a vietnam flashback.
What a way to end Black History Month.

That feeling when you're happy it's almost over, then you see the Cinema Snob card and realize it's only been fifteen minutes.
I’d just like to point out that this movie was made in 2000 and then released three years later to capitalize on Lisa Kudrow’s fame while “Friends” was airing its final season.
13:53 I can't help but to feel like this was a slave auction low-key. It's like the one in Get Out except it's trying to be funny. I understand it's for charity, but I can't help but to notice it.
That's pretty much exactly what it felt like....
I'm gonna give the film the benefit of the doubt and say they honestly wrote that with the intention of it being humorous and empowering (because it plays up the sexual appeal of teh character), but no one got the implication because no one who wasn't a whiter than sour scream suit who hadn't even seen a black person since before they turned 50.
....Have you wondered why Transpeople hate it when Cis Writers get Cis Directors to cast Cis Actors in their Pro-LGBT documentary... because they always seem to be full of cringy shit similar to this when no one of the minority being "empowered" is called to have any creative input on the damn thing.
The black face dance number from “Holiday Inn” is far less insulting then this movie.

Just saw Black Panther a few hours ago. Then I clicked on this. I want to go back, when my faith in humanity had been restored. I've only seen clips of this movie and it's all broken again!
OMG!!! I can't even watch this review all the way through. Mental anguish and physical pain.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand The Cinema Snob. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of bad Christian movies most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Brad's cynical outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hitler , for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence, people who dislike The Cinema Snob truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Brad's existential catchphrase "This Movie Is Shit" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Michael Stevens’ genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I do have a The Cinema Snob tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
