The song Twilight Time has only been played by the Moodies 8 times at Concerts. How lucky I am to be a person to have seen them play it live.. I'm sorry for bragging, but finding that out made Me feel Special. I missed seeing them again in Orlando this past year.. I didn't have the money, that was sad. The Moody Blues are My all time Favorite band. Their Music is just wonderful and timeless. I thank God for sending them to. Peace to All and Happy New Year.
I saw them at their 50th anniversary show wynn encore las vegas 2018. They played entire DOFP LP fabulous show and twilight time was powerful. Great song in concert
THAT'S SPECIAL. I ONLY HAVE THE WISHES THAT I COULD SEE THEM PLAY LIVE . THE FIRST TIME HEAR THEM I HAD TO LOOK THEM UP TOO KNOW WHO THEY ARE AND THEREFORE EVERY TIME I HEAR THEM IT'S A SPECIAL TIME .........FOR ME.
I would give Twilight Time four and a half stars out of five, while The Sunset gets five stars, along with Nights in White Satin and Peak Hour, all from Days of Future Passed.

RIP Mike Pinder, 12/27/1941 - 4/24/2024, who brought us The Sunset. And to Ray Thomas, two days younger than Mike, who passed 1/4/2018. He brought us Twilight Time.
Two truly haunting melodies by geniuses who didn't have to rest a laurel on a Maharishi like the Beatles did. They did magic by being two hard working Englishmen without drugs and ego madness to make these twin melodies from Paradise while on their earth, so that even in their decay now, it enriches us who play their music over 50 years since conception.
As a kid and through my teens I heard little music that had any effect on me until, at 17, I heard this and, like you, I played it over and over and over. I was totally captivated by its magic. I'd never heard anything like it, so inspirational! I'm 68 now - and it still has that effect on me, as did all the Core 7 albums of the Moody Blues. Of course, I just had to have a mellotron to recreate those wonderful sounds. It took 50 years, but I got one in the end!
Thats what we are here for,,to expand our consciousness as far as we can until our "death" then come back again in another body + expand it even more till we eventually find out the ultimate TRUTH that we are all IMMORTAL spiritual beings that can NEVER really die... then when we finally become fully enlightened+ we will all merge back with SOURCE/GOD our Father..we are all his children....a trillion sparks flying out of 1 very large "Loving" FIRE....its all a Divine PLAY...HIS LILA don;t you see...Its ALL about LOVE...Hope you all find it as I have my dear brothers+ sisters..Enjoy your long individual journeys back HOME...NAMASTE'

An Extremely Classy and Talented Band. For some, who were not around in the late 60's or hip enough to take the time to indulge in their creative greatness....they missed out. These two songs --and the interludes in-between-- are too often overlooked in Days of Future Passed. When I heard them for the first time, it was like finding a beautiful painting.
I was lucky enough to go to a middle school that had a planetarium , our science teacher introduced us to the amazing solar system with this song as an intro to our introduction to the first class in the planetarium , his name was Dr Edoff at Chatterton Middle school in Warren Michigan. If any of his family members ever see this I hope you understand what an amazing man you had in your family , he taught me to fall so madly in love with the solar system when I had horrible troubles in my home life and he allowed me to dream big dreams and made me want to reach for the stars .
Dr Edoff was my science teacher at Chatterton 35 years ago, and was the main reason I pursued a career in science. I think he touched a lot of students like he did us!
I love this one. I woke from a dream to this one playing in the mind. The dream was of a very ancient people, perhaps the Mayans. They would change their images upon the sun set, from that of human, to a lion, and then, to that of a beast, inside a temple of some kind. In those days/realm, people relied on the sun and moon for their every move in the life cycle. For me, I live in dreams. The physical is totally secondary now. This is how ancient societies lived and it seems one day, everything will come full circle, and then, upon a straight line entering into a much higher realm of existence---
WOW...theres one person out there that dislikes this, AND went through the "trouble" of watching it...probably a Justin Bieber fan. Anyhow, great video! Great song! One of my favorites growing up (and I'm only 24) The Moodies were my first ever rock concert and I was so blown away to finally see them I was a little boy in tears the whole time. Thank you MOM!
thank you a professor in my middle school used to play the sun went down as we sat in our planetarium and watched the stars before the lesson plans, i never knew where he got the song..Thanks dr. Edoff!!!~MomofReed
The first time I heard this was in '67 when it was released. I was only 7 years old and my older brother had bought the album. When he would leave the house, I would sneak into his room and "borrow" it from him and would take it in my room and play it. I loved the album cover. It was an amazing thing to the eyes of a 7 year old. This album represents one of my first recollections of hearing "rock" music for the first time in my life. This and Herman's Hermit's "I'm Henry the VIII, I am" :)
This song where the entire album is a showcase of what an average day is about but in a series of days. I feel that some of those days really match the days I had in my Days of Future Passed. As magical and wonderful as it may seem Growing up in the mountains of Costa Rica and listening to the Moody Blues on LP records- has got to be a wonderful part of my life!
Amazing video, and of course, the Moodies marvelous music! Twilight Time, one of my faves of Ray Thomas. Oh Ray, sweet Ray! Your beautiful soul has left this planet, but your lovely voice and music lives on! RIP Ray Thomas. Love & peace to all! Deb xox(berrygirl/moodygirl) 6/28/19
I have always ADORED this song.at the very beginning it sounds like the WIZARD of Oz. I loved that movie too. They are such poets. Stunning lyrics! Nice!
I've always had a different take on this line. If you consider that the MB's are using the day as a metaphor for a lifetime (and rebirth of the cycle), you could read into this that when you die, the world goes on without you, and possibly that the meaning of life is what you gave to it while you were living.
The meaning of life is what you think it is anyhow . You know since you're the creator of everything in your reality . Everything in YOUR reality came from your brain including what is seen in your visual cortext. Your reality and yours only.
My favorite song from them from one of the best albums of all time.I sometimes wake up and play the entire cd throughout my day at just the right time to coincide with the songs. The sky never ceases to amaze me with it's beauty no matter how many times I have done this...it alway's feels like the first time I have seen the world
thats why were HERE...for some good ole "MIND EXPANSION"..its what separates us from the animals...we are SELF AWARE but we are even MUCH more than that! SEEK and you shall FIND!! SAT CHIT ANANDA...
Once you meditate and become a "witness" to life..your life will never be the same again...you will be above it all ..you'll be in a state of unending + ever increasing bliss...and NOTHING can ever take that away from you.. then you are FREE ... now + forever! Namaste. LOVE+LIGHT!
Yes Sir. Completely agree. Pink Floyd were brilliant. But The Wall got a bit dark for me. The Moody Blues were just as innovative but overall, their body of work was, in my opinion superior.
Astounding you tube, thanks for putting it up ! And of course astounding music from our rock n roll inductees Moody Blues ! Rest in peace Ray Thomas. Twilight Time- great song you wrote, sleep well brother from a fellow musician, Peace out, Paul.
"Take a look out there. . .planets everywhere." And then this painter's brush with that wide-sweeping sound. Vangelis does that so nicely also. Some of these guy's albums are so complete. Remember the days of the 60's & 70's when album art was the destination. There are people who strive to do the same -- but the transition is the problem. As though the entire album is about a single person and the progress therein. Love stories.
Thanks. I used to trip to this and other moody albums. They were the best of the 6os and 70s music, If you wanted to go high and stay high. I had some profound spiritual experiences listening. I was on Patmos Island in greece in 2003 the Island of Saint John i had this album. i cant describe the vision i had a sort of spiritual labyrinth that went up into the heavens.
Twilight Time is not from this world. When I first heard this song almost 50 years ago it opened my eyes and they are still wide open thanks to seeing The Moody's a few months ago in Boston and hearing them play this. Truly they will be playing this song and all of the Moody Blues songs a hundred years from now. I swear I will be hearing Twilight Time when I leave this earth on my way to God via The Milky Way time traveling.
I lov e how all the music blends into each other and the music and orchestra parts run in to each other. In some ways this is one of the best albums ever
Days of Future Passed is a haunting album. I used to play the audio cassette while on Hangar/Flight Line Watch Duty which was 8 hours long. From midnight to 8 am and no one was out there..............................just me, my flashlight and the Moody Blues (was illegal, but who cared). Walking endlessly in large circles and listening........................ethereal!
The Sunset. This song brings back such great memories.

Try ebay they do have a lot of of earlier moody blues albums or cds Im not to sure if you want to pay for the albums on ebay
You are smart young person. Is some of their music enough to make you cry. Look up Justin Hayward broken dream You're eyes will cry a river
These two songs --and the interludes in-between-- are too often overlooked in Days of Future Passed. When I heard them for the first time, it was like finding a beautiful painting.
Twilight Time...Timeless. It's brilliant poetry..
Listening to this watching the sun disappear, on a Tuesday afternoon.
MUST INCLUDE A LARGR WISKEY
HE KNOWS MY DARLING.........HE KNOWS......😇😇😇😇😇💖💖💖💖🌟🌟🌟🌟💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫🌷
A few other people in the comments section have mentioned this teacher! Small world.
Amazing. Blessings and Infinite Love to all.
Reed Fillinger Vlogs LIVE on
WOW
Anyone know how how reach Dr. Edoff?
The first time I heard this was in '67 when it was released. I was only 7 years old and my older brother had bought the album. When he would leave the house, I would sneak into his room and "borrow" it from him and would take it in my room and play it. I loved the album cover. It was an amazing thing to the eyes of a 7 year old. This album represents one of my first recollections of hearing "rock" music for the first time in my life. This and Herman's Hermit's "I'm Henry the VIII, I am" :)
I grew up with opera and the classics. My father sang opera. But the Moody Blues were welcomed as a warm friend. We listened to their albums alot.
Love singing along to Ray. This is in their top 3 songs.
Nice video. Congratulations
Nice!
it's magic
This song is so sensual and beautiful
A Question of Ballance got me hooked. Best band ever. Caught them in concert at BC Place 1986. Miss you Ray.
oh my pinder and thomas.its so amazing
well yessss
and the world still goes on through the night .......Moodys , most positive group of all time ....
Your reality and yours only.
are you positive?
I love Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas. 🎹💙🎶
These guys and ELO were my teen and college years. Never gets old.
Twilight Time is a hell of a jam
Great visual interpretation of these two superb songs from a great album. Nicely done.
I love this song and this whole album! Masterpiece!
incredible piano on twilight time.love it.
My favorite song from them from one of the best albums of all time.I sometimes wake up and play the entire cd throughout my day at just the right time to coincide with the songs. The sky never ceases to amaze me with it's beauty no matter how many times I have done this...it alway's feels like the first time I have seen the world
beautiful comment from a "beautiful" soul....your innocence and vision is admirable+ refreshing... namaste.
Memories of Friday 5:00 pm after work with a large whisky in a living room with the lights off and the sun going down............
Massman The Moody Blues are pure musical geniuses underlined with a masterful mixture of Rock and Classical Music. Bravo!!!
This is one of my all-time favorites!
From the greatest album of all time!!!
theres nothing that can compare wlth them..timeless...limitless.....BEAUTIFUL
Been my absolute favorite album of all time since my 20’s!! Now in my 50’s!
All in all I love these image-filled videos of MB's songs. This one of Pinder's...very trippy, very '60's.
Thank you ...I love everything that is the Moodies...1973 was the first time I heard them!
I heard the moody blues when I was five
Hard to choose, but in my opinion the best 2 songs on this great album.
I do think this is where the album "peaks." Life is good while Side II is on.
Love, love, 💕
used to explore my mind listening to the moody blues in the 70's
DID YOU STOP?????
you were not alone
its a good start...try to find a way to expand it even MORE....all paths eventually lead to the ONE ..we ARE ONE!
thats why were HERE...for some good ole "MIND EXPANSION"..its what separates us from the animals...we are SELF AWARE but we are even MUCH more than that!
Namaste. LOVE+LIGHT!
Beautiful music....changed me forever!
This suite is my favorite Moody Blues work, and you, sir, have captured it very well...again!
Only pink floyd and moody blues can produce amazing and intellectually stimulating videos for their music. Genius
ABSOLUTELY MY LOVE......😇😇😇💖💖💖💖💫💫💫💫
Yes Sir. Completely agree. Pink Floyd were brilliant. But The Wall got a bit dark for me. The Moody Blues were just as innovative but overall, their body of work was, in my opinion superior.
dont forget The Who.
THERE DIFFERENT . LIKE THE BEGENNING OF THE EVENING.
Astounding you tube, thanks for putting it up ! And of course astounding music from our rock n roll inductees Moody Blues ! Rest in peace Ray Thomas. Twilight Time- great song you wrote, sleep well brother from a fellow musician, Peace out, Paul.
AIRIAL DISPLAY BY THE FIREFLY BRIGADE , now that's music
When I play Days, And, When It reaches this part. It give me chills. Great lyrics.
Another beautifully choreographed video. The images and timing are so perfect...well done!
This album encompasses everything in life no exceptions ~ thanks for allowing me to listen to this again.. The Moody Blues are one of the best.
This music stands the test of time, brilliant moody blues
chills and thrills , the moody blues have carved out a special place in heaven ,,,,,take a look out there , planets everywhere
My favorite part: 6:04. That french horn gets me every time.
I love the background vocals ...does something to the soul.
YES IT DOES
You are right it will be what you hear upon returning to heaven....
nicely put...moodies forever!!
How did they perform "Twilight Time" without Ray?
I lov e how all the music blends into each other and the music and orchestra parts run in to each other. In some ways this is one of the best albums ever
Best Group of Times, Forever
Days of Future Passed is a haunting album. I used to play the audio cassette while on Hangar/Flight Line Watch Duty which was 8 hours long. From midnight to 8 am and no one was out there..............................just me, my flashlight and the Moody Blues (was illegal, but who cared). Walking endlessly in large circles and listening........................ethereal!
The Sun brings life in the morning 🌄
this is a personal anthem for me... As I was born during the early hours of twilight
Exquisite images -- glorious music! Thank you!
I think this should have been put on an album; it's so good.
Sun set and Twilight Time are both off of the "Days of Future Passed" L.P. {1967}
My God...this is AWESOME music...REALLY!
Wonderful.
