That's a very long oceanic leg from Bermuda to the Cape Verde Islands! (I would think. 🤔) It seemed to be at maximum takeoff weight as it seemed to struggle a bit to gain lift and elevation. Might there be an auxiliary fuel tank (for long-distance ferry flights) installed temporarily in the optional belly cargo hold? Thanks very much for any feedback!
I went through Bermuda 1986 and was searched immediately on arrival, it pissed me off, it's got some beautiful beaches but I'd never go back, $16 drink, $14 cheeseburger and that was 1986 prices, ripoff.
When I was a kid, I lived in Bermuda and my brother was born in Bermuda. My step father took me out fishing in the Bermuda Triangle a number of times. I did not see any space people or UFO's.

Yes, back when I was a kid living in Bermuda, this air field was called Kindley Air Force Base with a lot of B-29's.

Yes you are correct, it was headed for South Africa for delivery.
Yup you are correct, the metal boxes inside the aircraft are the auxiliary fuel tanks.
