Just an Average Golfer giving unbiased opinions on all things golf, product tests, Golf travel vlogs and golf news!
What Andy didn’t say is he chartered a private jet afterward ✈️ 🎉 great to catch up pal
Only way to travel 👍 can’t wait to see ‘the bunker’ video 😂
We knew Peter
Peter finch has tuck is driving to another lvl this year
and can't wait to was the new golf bidder challenge with pere and rick I like them both but do have to apologise to them but Andy still my favourite sorry Pete
Good stuff Andy. Would love to see more collabs with you and Peter back in the UK.
He has a great video on his channel coming soon
Great to see you and Pete on such a daunting course.
Yes it was!
Played in AZ years ago and still have great memories of unreal golf courses. Lucky Andy to be able to play such high end clubs. Thanks for sharing with us.
It’s a lovely area
A beautiful course, the backdrop for every hole was stunning.
It was but I could barely see the fairway……🤣
Beautiful course, can't believe you had such cool weather in Arizona!⛳⛳⛳⛳
Neither can I, bloody freezing 🥶
I've played a few in the Tucson area. Will have to look for this course when I go back down to AZ.
There are two courses on site 👍
Andy, In Arizona many courses only overseed the fairways and allow the bermuda to go dormant. The brown is bermuda that goes dormant in the winter. In my opinion the bermuda when long is difficult to hit out of but the dormant bermuda is even tougher. They overseed with rye grass which is more hardy in the winter and the greens don't take as much of the break when they are rye vs bermuda when it regrows in the summer.
That’s really interesting Brian, I heard this kind of reference on the TV about different grasses but not realised the complexity. I certainly found some areas ‘different’ to what I was expecting, especially on wedge/short game, maybe I am just making excuses 😂👍
@@TheAverageGolfer I have plenty of those Andy. Right now the score is Dormant Bermuda 25 Brian 3.
What a facility that is, must be a 'pinch me moment' every time you get to visit somewhere like that. Love the videos
That’s a very valid point Lewis, it blows my mind tbh
Great vid Andy, still fun, no matter what (to play) I'm jealous. Come to Calgary, we'll play around (a round).
Enjoy your videos! Hope it was an easy flight. I look forward to playing in the UK someday
No 11 hour flight is ever easy 😂👍 but certainly worth it
Andy, I like the talking narrative. Looked like an amazing day. Do you get together with the other Golf RUclips channel guys and gal's? It would be fun to see a scramble tournament.
I would love to see more collaboration with PF. The banter must be fun.
A great video coming on his channel soon 👍
course looks stunning andy yes I wud love all top golf clubs in my bag and wud love to shoot better scores and keep trying to get my hc lower sick off players I sometimes pkay with at my course saying they have this and that its hard to due money and my health but at the end off the day I am just happy to be out on a course playing golf so ppl don't worry what other players have and do just enjoy your self
Looking forward to the mine shaft vid
The golf is looking pretty solid matey!
Probably played better than I scored
Great enjoyable video report
Many thanks!
I know how you feel Andy. My son is an ex pro athlete (North America football) and he is constantly 300+ yards off the tee. I’m used to it so it doesn’t intimidate me anymore. Fortunately, putting is my strong point.
Yep my putting and short game is normally mine but not today
So glad you hooked up with Peter in Az. Looking forward to his video. That said, I hope you two can do more videos or other golf content with each-other!
We shall see
Scottsdale National GC looks amazing 👍👍
For my 70th Birthday last year, we priced up flying over staying at the Lodges and getting a Full PXG Bag fitting. When I realised that I would have to sell several kidneys to fund the trip, we decided to go to Blackpool instead 🤦♂🤦♂
Blackpool nice though? 🤣
@@TheAverageGolfer True and it's got a Zoo 😉😉
How do you find playing golf in your runners rather than your golf shoes? Any reason for this?
My golf shoes were packed in luggage and ready for airport, this was a last minute game and no option, interestingly I slipped on three occasions on backswing
When I travel and try to get in a quick 9, then to the airport, it is hard to keep the rhythm in your swing because in the back of your mind you know you need to get to the airport. You can use this excuse if you like Andy. 😁
😂😂 I haven’t used that one before….that explains a lot
Everyone probably watching the golf thinking good swing etc and I’m just sat here thinking those new balance are absolutely mega
😂 my golf shoes had been packed up, slipped twice but look good 👍
How come you ditched the Mezz max Andy?
Not ditched the Mezz, I didn’t take clubs with me 👍
Does Perfromance 54 own all the youtube golf channels?
Not this one
@@TheAverageGolfer Good!
No golf shoes Andy?
Already packed and ready for flight
Think if you played him straight up it would have gotten ugly..
describe ugly?🤣
@@TheAverageGolfer Honestly I was think he would have won by 10..
@@davidcole2337 😂😂 really, that’s interesting, so to clarify I get 9 shots and he wins by 10?
@@TheAverageGolfer I know playing with people who hit it long on Tee Box can really mentally effect a Average Golfer.. You always feel like you are playing from behind even if you get to the green in same stroke as person you are playing with.. As far as score through 9 Holes I figured you would be are 46 - 47 and he would be around 36-37 through 9 Holes would be my guess.
Course for pros only. Too long and greens too fast for the great majority of us. But then, with an initiation fee of $150,000 and annual dues of $36,000, the great majority of us don't need to worry about playing it. Good on you Andy for trying it, but I can relate better to most of the courses you video playing on in the UK and Europe.
Back to normality soon 👍
