The fashion really went from looking like a member of the italian mafia to looking like a member of the galactic space council
Not just any council, but a council existing in the world of spaceballs
@@deathsquadron3311 Lmao true
Looking like a member of the galactic space council who was too hung over from the epic rave party last night to put on their clothes right.
Or even put on the right clothes, for that matter.
HELP💀
In the galaxy far far away
Everything goofy in old cartoons is now considered *fashion*
Next thing you know people making themselves look like Jerry after eating a large wedge of cheese
@@cactusgamingyt9960 ill remember this when it happens.
Sam smith as a period cloth and Doja cat blending in with hit had my crying 😭😭😭😭😭
In a few years people will be dressing like the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters
Them red boots look like Pac-Man shoes
The fashion industry today in my opinion is a prime example of "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should."
Damn right
Yes
Damn right
For real. 🌹
My favorite motto
As someone studying fashion design and marketing right now, a problem is that everything you design has to be “modern”: everything has to be transformative, new, innovative. It also doesn’t matter if the design looks like sht so long as you can write an essay justifying it. It really is a clown show. Can’t wait for year 1 to end so I’ll be outta here
That sounds so terrible honestly.
What if someone brought the old back
@@K1R4AAA Would be nice...
Reject modernity embrace tradition be hitting hard now 😔
Year 8 will begin soon
There was a kid at my high school who wore a top hat since the first day. It started off goofy but eventually it just became completely normal to see the one kid with the top hat.
Wut? Did nobody bully him?
He's a kid, a top hat on a kid is weird, it's like giving them a bowtie or monocole, or worse french.
I'm usually against bullying but it looks like he's asking for it with his top hat
Maybe he’s just really Jewish 😭
What happened to top hat kid? There's a story there.
I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. It was I. I was top hat kid.
@@youtubestudiosucks978 nah if someone’s rocking a tophat then they dripped out Fr. Same with wearing a suit. People who wear that stuff are just built different.
Imagine going back in time and telling tailors and jewelers who would spend days crafting that in the future people would pay even more for literal garbage
Tbh I would assume they would make a nasty comment and then resume to their work because they are not living in the modern world and this fashion is none of their business.
"Good for them, we'll be dead by then"
@@gamechanger8908 Based response if you ask me.
The fact that there are virtual clothes and people actually spend K's on them is insanity.
They're gonna stab you with scissors no more going back to the future for you
There was one rule of etiquette I always remember, "It's better to wear what looks good on you, that too wear what is in fashion and look ridiculous."
Ooo damn
This is a quote worth remembering.
My grandma is a tailor since she was 6 years old, so I grew up wearing clothes that perfectly fit me, even if it was hand me downs.
Eventually I got tired of not finding clothes on stores so I asked my grandma to teach me how to make T shirts, then basic hoodies, then chino pants (I hate jeans)
So nowadays I have a wardrobe full of clothes that are all the same except different colors, all perfect fit and it's the most satisfactory thing ever
That’s actually pretty cool
congratulations my guy
A most beneficial skill in today's society.
I'm still not convinced "fashion shows" aren't massive meetings for Stand users.
IS THAT A MOTHERFUCKING JOJO REFERENCE?
Holy that's genius
It’s a known fact that Araki took inspiration from fashion industry. There’s multiple character’s name or attire directly base on fashion brand, most notably part 5.
So yes, fashion is a jojo reference
Araki’s fashion sense is still 10 times more likable than the fashion industry as a whole.
@@bluecoconut9543 even if you're not trying to cosplay at least the majority of the outfits make some semblance of sense
it really becomes less ridiculous when you put fashion in two categories:
1. art pieces meant to be looked at on their own or only worn at runways
2. clothes you go out with in public
even at the 1st category, those fits is the most goofy thing in existence?
"oh what does this clothing mean?"
"its about opression, the fight against racism"
and the outfit is looking like an sofa that got melted and burned by radioactive particles
@@apenas_tarso its usually more about how insanely hard it is to design and wear - the process that went into it
Even clothes they make for the street are a bit goofy at times, or maybe need time to grow on people via nostalgia or fair re-evaluation, but I would not be caught dead in these abominations they shovel down the average multimillionaire's runway of shame.
If I was a furniture designer my magnum opus would be a lawn chair with a buttplug glued to it. Avant garde, bitch!
It's kind of annoying when people mock certain fashion with their idea of normal clothes when a lot of goofier looking fashion isn't even designed to be practical at all or even sold in mass like normal clothes. Cuz like imagine if people mocked an artists style because "it doesn't even look real how is that a person" 💀
This reminds me of an episode on regular show, where mordecai and rigby wore trash bags as clothes and everyone loved it as the best fashion they'd ever seen. That scene perfectly describes fashion today.
Nbs 😂
I remember that episode
Hear me out. We need to bring back suits with hats and we need to make side cloaks and long coats in again.
That 1920s DRIP
Honestly, I think the reason why fashion keeps getting outrageous and celebrities keep buying and wearing it is because they don't want to look like regular people.
Makes sense
I don’t think celebrities buy any of these clothes.. they get sponsored by the brands and the brands send them these clothes and pay them to wear them.. you know? To advertise their products.. Like how Dior, Chanel, Versace or YSL dress celebrities for a red carpet, they don’t pay for any of these dresses which makes it even more ironic.
That, or theye do it simply because they can. You know, rich people habit: you can-you do it.
Hey that actually makes sense
Ayy I remember leaning this in history
I agree, personally I'm not really someone who is too picky about clothes, and the fact "fashion" has gotten to this level is why
Money and attention?
@@NaisanSama yeah that too
fashion been what it is for 20 years, yall just aint been hip, you can also dress well without wearing runway sht, that aint the reason to dress like a bum
@@oim862 true, just because this is what "fashion" has come to now doesn't mean you need to wear this goofy ass clothing😂😂
@@SamuraiVertHD yeah, but dont get me wrong, u can still wear the brands, they dont even produce this clothing its just for the runways, u can wear their clothing and look good still
It’s not fashion that’s goofy, it’s the celebrities who want to stand out. The only FEW that can even think about looking decent while looking different were probably Prince and Michael Jackson
That, and a huge number of celebrities being desperate for attention.
Michael Jackson had drip ngl 🔥🔥🔥
@@NinoDesbordes256 yea just like how he wanted to drip inside children
attention is a hell of a drug
The difference is with them is that it was genuine self-expression. This type of fashion is purely for attention purposes
6:03 ok why does this chart even need to exist
They make those weird outfits for purely sensational/provocatively reasons, to get people to talk about them, and considering you made this video, I'd say it worked lol
Thats what he says in the video

7:45 wtf morbius doing 😭😭😭
We need renaissance fashion to come back.
YES
Ah, I missed the time when both men and women wore dresses and nobody complained about it because they themselves are also wearing dresses.
It would be hella uncomfy ngl
@@Bye_girl comfort is secondary to renaissance drip.
Lol recently I have been wearing long midi skirts, dress shirts, tights, and heels
Sure sometimes the heels are a bit uncomfortable but I feel classy and it sure beats wearing pajamas to school
I don’t think about what I wear, and after watching video, I’ll think about it more. And how I’m wearing the exact same thing everyday and how it’s better than “modern fashion”
That’s cool and all but if u wearing the same clothes everyday u probably smell like ass. At least wash yo shit man for the sake of our nostrils.
@@bbpd5315 I do, I have multiple things I wear. I just don’t change from what I wear. Basketball Shorts, a Nintendo T-Shirt, and some socks and shoes plus my headphones and hoodie

I’d wear the red boots.
It would help complete my Astro Boy cosplay.
im glad that this type of "fashion" stays on the runways

those astro boy boots had me questioning this generation of designers
Nah dem boots are good for cosplaying as ASTRO BOI
Those designers should go in the cosplay industry
Current fashion trends really do feel like stuff you'd see a clown wear... like in all seriousness, it really does!
The big red shoe is the same type of shoe that the kid Astro boy used, which is a anime.
people really been wanting to look like a anime characters…💀
As a man who likes to dress well myself, I honestly don't really like modern fashion culture. It feels like celebrities and fashion bros alike are trying to pull pranks on each other by gaslighting them into thinking that the most random things possible are now "in style" and that you have to wear these ridiculous combinations in order to stay or become popular.
Gaslight Event Horizon
4:46 yo, those are the Astro Boy shoes
You pretty much summed the whole industry up. Fashion isn't fashion anymore, it's an industry. If you want to sell a lot you need to shock people, so you make ugly stuff that they will talk about. You also need to make a collection for more than 4 seasons, which means overworking yourself and your employees. Every step takes you closer and closer to your grave.
I also agree with what you said about Velma. It's concerning because other shows are getting cancelled while this load of crap gets a second season.
It felt more like corporations just want to spite their actual customers.
I’ve become so tired of modern fashion that I’ve formed an affinity for fashion from the 1910s - 1950s (hell, even Victorian fashion from the 1880s).
Unfortunately in today’s social climate, I’m not able to wear anything I’m actually interested in due to the fear of coming across as an embarrassing posturer, or a peacock.
To fix the issue, I wear select items from the time periods of fashion I actually enjoy, and pair them with modern items that compliment each other.
I legit do not care that I wear the same thing every day 😂
I wish people could just dress extra/flamboyant/different and have it just be normal. Like if i could walk down the street and see someone dressed like al capone and another guy dressed like fuckin… idk uzui tengen (if you dont know who that is just look up a picture and youll get the point) It would just be more fun. Not saying everyone should dress like that but im so tired of everyone just trying to wear the same things and look generic.
I wear clothing styles from primarily the 1930s and 1940s topped with a proper fedora at my highschool, and I usually will wear that style out and about anywhere.
The one thing that will be the most helpful to you is to not care about what negative comments people tell you about the style. Their opinion doesn't matter, it's the style and the fit that matters.
Not only that, you'll get far more positive comments than you would negative. You'll genuinely gain respect from a lot of people, and it will tell people that you don't care about modern trends nor the negativity.
@@dontgotovideos5560 You can get away with that if you're a solid 10/10, but if you're an average guy you will get clowned because it looks like you are trying too hard.
In modern times, it feels like everyone can blend together.
Now, fashion plays the role of the challenger, here to push the boundaries and go where we have been to afraid to go in the past.
Daring and bold, the fashion designers of today do what many people consider impossible.
Make the worst, most heinous, depraved, and garbage outfits of all time, thus making everything else seem good in comparison.
Truly they deserve our respect.
Lol, not the heroes we asked for, but the ones we needed
im not giving my respect to something so awfuly bad as it
Degenerocity and Tommy need to do a collab
4:35 my boy is kingpin
Underrated comment 😂
9:58
We can def see this with ppl being more interested in “old money” outfits rather than major celebrity brands
I feel like Gucci and other designers looked at some Picasso paintings and said "Yes this will be a new fashion!"
Let's be honest, the only reason why people care so much and bully you for having fake jordans is because everyone else is, and it's part of the new "style".
or maybe because you're too poor to afford real Jordans and it comes of as sad?
@Shrider Rad true but that doesnt justify the fact that ppl feel the need to shit all others bc of fake shoes
Those we care so much about high end products are sad to began with so do not be surprised when they see someone wearing a rip off and they do not jump on him
3:59 my guy be looking like a paper bag😐
This is exactly like mobile game ads; they attract customers through looking like one thing when they don't actually look like it.

These "fashion" pieces get worn literally like once for a series of articles and Soup of the Week controversy but, guaranTEE those trash ass fits are in a dumpster an hour after the cameras run out of film or battery.
That's why old money is an aesthetic again, because it looked better.

As a person who’s into fashion I’ve always stood for fashion being a form of self expression rather than becoming the next piece in an art gallery.
My fashion tastes are kinda like a mix of 1980s fashion and soft boy fashion, with a few exceptions because it’s nice to have variety. Fashion doesn’t need to be complicated, a few accessories, some simple colour matching and colour balancing can go a long way. I remember seeing this one girl with crazy earrings with doll heads attached to them, and yet it worked because her outfit was personalised and simple.
As long as you’re wearing something that you like then you’re golden, some of my friends would always ask me for fashion advice and I’d help them pick outfits out, however I always try to stick to their tastes in fashion rather than mine, if they like the outfit I picked then great but if they don’t like the outfit then we try something else.
