For the one about wasps, I'm pretty sure the girl confused wasps with bees (which is kinda dumb, but understandable. Doesn't make what she said any less strange as it's pretty much human nature to run or fight when we see danger of any sort)
Pretty much, if you stand still with bees and don't move, they usually shouldn't sting you (I say usually as you can get unlucky and get stung). Bees die after stinging you, so it likely that they would only do so if it's the last option. Hell even against hornets they just swarm them and flap their wings really fast to overheat and kill the hornet. It's ill advised to flap around madly if you are approached by bees as they are gonna see you as a threat (and even greater than that of a hornet (you are a giant compared to bees)) and you are gonna get stung.
Instead stand still and minimise breathing and hope they don't sting you. You can run, just don't start running around and flapping your madly
Wasps, however, are nasty little fuckers who can sting again, and again... And again. RUN if you see them however madly you want

People like having high standards usually in order to feel good about themselves. When you have standards sky high you paint an image of yourself being deserving of those things, when most of the time you are not really. It lets people feel high class without having to put in the work of bettering yourself or facing your flaws and it lets them aim for people that are frankly, too good for them. Instead of an equal relationship they want one in which their partner makes up for almost all their faults since said partner would be one that met those absurd standards, that way again they can benefit from another person whilst putting in no effort. The funny part is people are lustful. These "icks" are 90% bullshit and people will get with or fuck people simply because said people are attractive. People care about looks a lot more than they would like to admit because since we were kids, love has been shown to us as this thing that should primarily be emotional.
