For me, I'm 44 and disabled so I still want to look awesome but I'm on a budget and I get too tired shopping without my wheelchair which just doesn't work in 99.9% of stores! So, I discovered online consignment through places like Poshmark or Mercari or ThredUP. I love these stores. I'm not sure what my best find is but I got a new with tags Free People black wool winter coat that originally was over $200 for $25. Another score (not premium but fun) was a bundle of H&M items that included one black hooded winter coat with tags , one black faux fur dressy jacket, and a bag with five necklaces, two bracelets, and a ring - all for the bargain price of $9 plus $6 for shipping! I don't mind wearing brands like H&M so it was fun for me! I just bought my daughter a J Crew tippi sweater for $30 new with tags!! I always aim for new with tags if possible but I've gotten other cool thing listed as worn once for photo shoot that looks awesome! Like a faux leather jacket from Nordstrom's BP line for $10!! I want to thrift with you if your ever in northwest CT!

I did a double take at the chairs. I owned those exact chairs in the mid-70's!! They were part of a set that included a small, round butcher-block table. (Butcher block counters were "the" thing at the time for the kitchen.) Anyway, I was newly married and our home was decorated in the current "modern" style which was essentially a lot of glass, chrome, and butcher block. Those chairs have been long gone; I probably donated them when I left the glass/chrome/butcher block phase of my life.

I'm sometimes scared off buying upholstered furniture and wool and heavy coats because I figure the cleaning costs make the deal not so sweet! Samesies with shoes if the outside is awesome but the insides need work. Any ideas or tips!
I used to have a coat just like that! The last time I went to the thrift store I got an awesome light brown faux fur coat for $10. It actually looks like another one I have, but you can never have too many fur coats!

Luv your tips, I too buy lots of things at thrift stores. I lived in Calabasas for 25 years, so I get a kick when you say, 'the store in Thousand Oaks'; Been there done that! We moved to Palmdale 6 years ago and rent our Calabasas home. There are many thrift stores out here, and I do have my favorite, which I shall not name (per your advice)! I have purchased a large size working TV from Goodwill in Reseda for $35. ' two art deco type purple velvet chairs for our master bedroom, which go with the décor and colors, and these were $65. each at Goodwill in Palmdale. I got a bed frame for my guest bedroom, which I sanded and painted, plus numerous name brand new shoes like you as well as beautiful vintage silk blouses. I too always Google the brand, which told me that I really scored BIG on some of the items. Perhaps I will run into you thrifting in So. CA.!
