  • In this video I will explain how to set up flaperons in the Boxer radio using a 3 position switch and a momentary switch. Flaperons allow you to dual purpose your ailerons as flaps. You need to be careful that you do not set the flap rate to high or you may lose aileron authority. Flaperons do help make slower landing approaches possible but some models may require engine power to overcome the possible extra drag.
You will need to have a servo operating each aileron to be able to utilise Flaperons.

As always Sir, FANTASTIC!!! I initially used an earlier video to properly set up my Boxer for a dual servo aileron plane. I wasn't fully up to speed behind the steps, especially the logical switch setup and logic (when setting up important electric motor arming). This video began to start the process of "fleshing out" so-to-speak the process of understanding, which after all, is the most important aspect that one has to derive from your videos. Bloody well good job Sir! That's coming from "across the pond"!

Bill, thanks for the followup. Once I realized you were most likely not using elrs, and from what I picked up from RCgroups, it was a simple manner at avoiding channel five (arming only). It's all good for now. You have been a wonderful help and I appreciate the offer of assistance. It just might come to that down the road if need be. In the meantime, stay safe, well and keep up the bloody good work Sir!! From Joe (across the pond)

Wondering if you could make a boxer video for setting a three position switch for the Eflite plane systems with beginner, intermediate and advanced. With the values needed for the positions? You seem to be the person with the best radiomaster videos that I have seen thus far. Thank you in advance!!

You first need to find out which channel the modes operate on. Then assign a mix to the channel and select the 3 position switch you want to use. It should be set up correctly by default. -100 switch forward, 0 switch middle and +100 switch in the back position. If the works the wrong way round change the weight in the mix to -100. You should be to go.

Wonderful video. One problem. I am dead in the water with getting both flaperons to operate correctly. Regardless of input direction (within the 5 channel Elrs receiver) or within the Boxer's outputs settings, and playing with variations on the +/- direction settings on the weights, the best I can do is get the left flaperon to behave correctly (lower), but the right flaperon deflects upwards. I know you're busy, but any help would be most appreciated. To facilitate any assistance you might be able to provide, I can provide you with the Companion file with all the settings contained therein. I was the individual who had said you were doing a "bloody good job Sir" from across the pond. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

If you can back up your radio and model settings and email it to me I will take a look for you. Getting the correct moment of the surfaces can be tricky. triplemadventures@gmail.com

Hello, I recently got the boxeer and found your videos very helpful. Unfortunately, when I try to set up my flaps, my flaps could only go to the neutral position or full throw. I tried positive, negative, large, and really small weight # and it would only do that. I was wondering if you can tell me how to fix my problem. Idk if this info is useful, but my plane has only 1 dedicated channel to two flaps on channel 5. I think it makes a grinding noise when its flaps down, so I assume it pulling beyond on the flap further than it can allow.

Hi Larry, this video should help you if the flaps have 2 servos connecting to one channel which is normally via a y cable.

I am trying to bind a microzone s- fhss receiver to my radiomaster boxer 4 in 1 but it wont bind. Could you please help, im desperate😢

Hi, make sure your transmitter and receiver are not to close when binding. I assume you have selected Futaba SFHSS Then put the receiver into bind mode and then clicked bind on your radio? If you are sure you have completed this process correctly then you may have a fine frequency tuning problem. If you go to Freq tune and put in a plus figure of 30 then try to bind. If no go change figure to -30. If this works and your receiver is bound you need to complete the Fine Frequency Tune procedure. Check my playlists for how to do this.

@@bernhardskrauklis7690 if you do not have an external module it should not be giving you any options. Have you updated the firmware recently? What firmware version does the radio and model have installed.
