I am paying 19% ebay seller fees. 6% increase because of Below Standard. The cancelled by Seller TDR Really tore me up. Unfortunatly I have not been able to push myself int the 400 sales in 90 days so everything sticks with me for a year. I did not understand or pay attention to defects until too late. In retrospect I would suggest anything would be better than cancelling a sale as a seller. I have been Below Standard for 5 months now. I have not made any mistakes in that time. Nose to the grindstone and still Below Standard Highlighted in RED. So discouraging. Two of my cancellations fall off this month.July 20 I hope to be 2.0% or less. 2.01 Will lead to another month of gloom but the numbers are slowly headed back in the right direction.I have been selling since 2012 Sure will be glad to get out of Detention.
Its an absolute nightmare! i totally get it. ebay is just a computer they dont care about the human aspect off it. If you can I would set some buy it nows at 99p / 99c for speedy sales even if its to friends n family or to strangers, that might push you over the line quicker. Below seller standard is one of the worst things about ebay imo
One of the reps also told me when I called about my defect that I had had my store open for close to 90 days at that point in time and that was plenty of time for me to be familiar with all of eBay‘s rules policies and expectations. I was gob smacked. You have to be kidding me as a brand new seller. I told him that I felt like closing my store because I didn’t believe that eBay was supporting brand new store owners. There is so much to learn as a new store owner and I felt like that was a very Unacceptable response from him

Just watching your past videos George. I sell very occasionally I sell my own items. Usually about a month or 2 a Yr. I have 100% feedback. Get top feedback for my clothes and bags. Etc. I buy lots on ebay for family. I've been dropped down in dashboard.. Ffs I'm a private seller just selling what I no longer need lol.

I've been on eBay over 20 years. This below standard just happened to me.October 2023. It's really not all my fault. 99 percent of my items I make, and ship the next day in a plain white envelope or a small bubble mailer. Lately people had been saying they haven't gotten their items so I send out another one. Occasionally one may come back wanting more postage. The delivery on some was so slow one week I just closed my store because I couldn't take anyone else asking where is their item. If you get your bills on time in a white envelope why aren't you getting my item. Not to mention I was even going out of my way and taking them to the post office myself. I couldn't figure it out. I even changed my handling time to 2 day handling. .. Then this past week I decided to not mark the item as shipped until the day eBay said it was the day it had to be shipped even though I had already shipped it. I am devastated by this like I said Ive been on here for over 20 years. Maybe I'll just close my store for a month.

And I feel really stupid because I didn't even know their was a DEFECT section and you can go and appeal it. I did call them yesterday and one of my defects did get dropped off. So that's a plus. I have another one where the buyer messaged me and said that she got the item but eBay had already closed out the case against me so I have to call them about that. It's all a bit much. And on top of that even though I'm not promoting my items I'm still getting sales I was surprised I didn't think I would get any
Same thing happened to me with chargebacks - the seller performance department is abusive and I’m sure the customers are scamming you. I charged tracking and guess what? All the items not received quit. Ebay buyers are abusive, ebay doesn’t care and just wants sellers to pay more fees and take more abuse. Their platform is gonna go bankrupt eventually with this model.
I’ve also closed my ebay store for a week out of anger, it’s not just you, eBay is failing to keep up with the times buyers are learning how to abuse sellers to get free stuff, meanwhile ebay just keeps doubling down on abusing sellers.
I’ve been posting on other platforms now and not expanding on eBay any more, they’ll learn their lesson by abusing sellers this much when we leave and they go bankrupt. The motto “the buyer is always right” is long gone and has been abused. You’re not the only one this is happening to, hope this helps for you to know there’s others dealing with this kind of abuse on ebays platform.
I'm not gonna lie , it's a very difficult pill to swallow but it will make u a better eBay seller. ( That's how I'm looking at it) I do everything I can never to go back into below seller status. It's a nightmare.

When i have an issue where i cant fulfill the order, i just send a cheap item to the custoner and make it look like a mistake. As soon as they message me i refund them and tell them to keep it. I used to ask the buyer to cancel, so that way i woukdnt take the hit but ive heard people saying that ebay is cracking down on that. Theres no way to tell if i genuinely sent the wrong item or not.
thats good too. Its such a stupid rule esp if something has broke in storage , if you tell the truth you get punished but the buyers are usually ok with it? weird . so any work around I would definitely endorse.
This happened to me because I had to cancel two sales on eBay because they sold on Poshmark right at the same time literally like a day or two apart. I used Louis perfectly and I thought mistakenly that was perfectly would update one site when it’s sold on another. So eBay has put me in jail. I spoke to three different reps about this in the last three days seeing if I got different information or explanation or recommendation from three different people. One Said it would have no impact on my store however nothings getting viewed. The other said it would last 12 months and the third rep told me to never use that choice when Any sale needs to be canceled. He said to only use that option that says the buyer is canceling. I said to him, but isn’t that untrue because I had to cancel as the store owner. He said no if the seller contacts the buyer and the buyer agrees to cancel the sale, The seller should choose buyer canceled.

Great video, if a friend bought 2 or more of your listing in the same order would it count as multiple sales. Or would this process only work 1 by 1
not sure I think it would count as a single sale. I would recommend separate sales just in case

It took 3 months "below" seller status to realose playing by their rules. Then it took about 2 to 3 months doing it my way to get back up to normal. Im not aure how many sales it took.

For me it was about 20 odd but it differs from person to person and their TOTAL sales

Hey, thank you so much for this video. I've found myself this morning projected to be below standard for making items out of stock (sold on Vinted using zipsale). Am I destined to be below standard come 20th of December on my next evaluation no matter what?
I'm obviously going to do all that I can this month to make sure I have no negative results for December but not sure what is going to happen. I'm annoyed but also would of never known this if it didn't happen to me.

Glad it was helpful! it takes a while to get out of below standard. This ironically is probably the best month as the volume of sales will boost it out of below standard too.
Just came across your much needed video ...my ebay account dropped to 3.02% because i didnt have the item in stock or it was damaged...and like you i was truthful.... Please can you tell me the 99p items you "sold" im struggling to think of an item to put for sale for my friends to purchase...
It can be any item. Just pick your lowest value stock. Or maybe a piece of Lego

can you set it as local pick up? this way shipping labels wont be needed.

It sure feels that way. Ebay has a ton of tricks to get more money out of the sellers. Between ebay and the cost of shipping we will have to price our items so high that no one will buy them
Its so bad the way they make it even harder to get out of below standard too
Ebay better be careful bc theres so many more platforms emerging that arent screwing their sellers

So did you have a bunch of different family members buy multiple things during the weeks? Does it count if it’s one person buying multiple things throughout the week?
multiple friends n family . I'm not sure about just one or two people that might tick off ebay as "suspicious"
But did you ship? if not didnt you get a "no tracking" situation? which is also a matrix they use to put people below standard?
its not mandatory to track under £20 in the UK.

Just missing one thing , how did you prrof to ebay that items were delivered , dont you need to show actual tracking and this tracking is moving and showing delivered ...could you be me more specific on that please
tracking isnt mandatory so when your friends or family "receive" their item they can just click received and leave positive feedback

Hi mate, brilliant info. Just quick query though? If your friendly buyer buys 25 99p items in 1 go, does it count as 25 sales or just 1 transaction? I.e do they have to buy 1 item at a time or can they put 25 items in the basket at on time and pay?

@@deryaerkann no not really its only a problem if the buyer complains . the "buyer" is a family member or friend so you should be ok. just mark as dispatch.
How long did it take you to get above standard again ?
I was below seller status for two months before I did this and it took only one. It depends on your sales volume because how they assess you status by percentage.
@@RESELLERGEORGE I’ve got 7.56% late delivery rate | 1.26% cases closed without seller resolution and 3 transactions defect rate and the click through rate is red and says 6.0% pts
It may take longer to push those percentages down but it is possible. Sometimes the late delivery rate has nothing to do with the seller and more the delivery company which is also unfair. Closed without seller resolution is basically you not refunding the buyer straight away. I Always offer a partial refund that usually gets around this even if your in the right, it's better to avoid the ding to Ur account and keep some of the profits then just block n move on ( this was a.hard.lesson to learn)

BC I wasn't dispatching the items I was just marking the order as "dispatched". Then my friends and family were clicking order received and leaving positive feedback.
