It's important that this collection be viewed by as many as possible. Jimmy was so much deeper than most people realize. Thank you, Delaney. Peace be with your family.
I couldn't agree more about how deep his music is. I started listening to him and going to his concerts when I was 8 or 9 years old. I'm now 36 and most people my age tend to think that his music is all the goofy, kitschy stuff. His deeper music, those are the ones that people need to know. ❤
@@CakeCakeCakeagree with you VERY much. Am believing that Jimmy took another road to a higher place, although we weren’t personally in touch with each other. My age is now 61, living in the same house I moved into 15 years ago, the longest time I have ever lived anywhere in this lifetime, so think that I have found me a home until my Father calls me to His home. Have listened to Jimmy Buffett music as long as I remember & read his novels, although I don’t see well enough anymore to post a comment without typos now haha! GBU young lady. ~
@77thTrombone I feel you on this. I love the way his lyrics just paint a picture in my mind. It's like each time I hear a familiar song playing, I see the same movie play in my head. After his passing, I decided to start from his first album and listen to all of the songs all through the collection. I heard a song last night that I don't ever remember hearing before. It was called If It All Falls Down from the Floridays album. There are some lines in it that I loved about that he could "charm a crowd" and "make them dance til they all fall down" and "juggle verbs, adverbs, and nouns". This isn't a particularly deep song, but I love the interesting lyrics, and he certainly could do all of those things!

Delaney - Your dad meant so much to me. His music played all summer every summer as me and my brothers swam in the pool or on any long road trips. A concert in 1989 at Poplar Creek was the first date with the love of my life who ended up marrying me for over 30 years now. Thank you for sharing these stories. I never met your dad, but he was one of my personal heroes. God Bless.
You can see it in his face, especially the first time he sings "I have found me a home" that he knew what was coming. You can something on the side of his face.... and this is why I love Jimmy so much. My son just experienced a tough break up, and I'm showing him this to encourage him to remain positive. I can only hope that I die as well as jimmy as I live out the end. Thanks for all you did for me jimmy and what you continue to do for me. ❤
Yes for lifelong adult JB fans, these songs in this acoustic setting, make me remember when I found me a home in the warm waters of the great coastal south.
I never got to see Jimmy in concert but enjoyed his music, Margaritaville Restaurant at Universal in Orlando, Cheeseburger in Paradise in Middleton, WI. My husband and I enjoyed Key West, Key Largo, Tampa, Hawaii, New Orleans, etc. My čondolences to Delaney, Savanna, Cameron, Jane and all his family, friends and fans. It’s so great you did this video memoir with your Dad - thank you Delaney!!!
I want you to know that this is absolutely amazing and something I always wished for ... to know the stories behind each song .... to hear the adventures of his life. My brother sat at a table with him "business"...back in the day...lol...and I was turned on to him because of my brother ... he was 10 years older, a hippy...I was 6 and we were from Miami. My brother had a colorful life & wished he had written and/or recorded his stories and adventures ... both he & JB were the reason i always wanted to live on an island....I had that dream and moved to HI to be near my brother for 14+ years. We lost him on the same day as JB 5 years ago...kind of fitting I'd say...and I am sure they are enjoying a cheeseburger in paradise...and swapping stories. Thank you for this special gift and to the whole family for sharing your wonderful, amazing man with the world!
Thank you Delaney for recording this with you dad. My Deepest Condolences to your mom, you and family. I'm sure there was a lot of family singing in that blessed HOME. 💙💔💙
Delaney, you have created a treasure that will keep your Dad's legacy stronger than ever, not to mention a piece that has shown your Dad in a light that we had not seen before. Thank you for sharing and your vision on this series!
Thank you Delaney for sharing your dad with us. These moments are special. We miss him even though we never met him. You've filled that void with these recordings.
76 years old , he left on the road to heaven and will not return ! Jimmy , rest with everyone in the Gardens of Paradise and let your guitar sound there ! Amen!
The saddest thing for me losing all these great people...Jimmy , Prine, Goodman etc. Is.....there is no one to replace them....they've always been a cornerstone for me....the wise old men helping us through life....they are almost all gone....RIP Jimmy....
Don’t have a real dad like relationship. Never have. Felt like he was my dad in some weird strange way. Thank you for doing these. I hear Delaney is single! ❤
Delaney, thank you ever so much for this collection. We loved it during the pandemic and it’s much more meaningful now. My love to you and your family, including the dogs. We will try to keep having fun, even if it hurts right now.
Back in the 80's my ex and I would go to his concert every time he came to Seattle. One year we were staying at the Edgewater and having lunch in their coffee shop. We looked out the window and there he was coming across the parking lot to the hotel. He had been shopping up town and had his arms full of shopping bags. My ex went out to the elevator and asked him to come in and meet me. I was so star-struck all I could say was my name when he asked me, he shook my hand!! It was a real thrill to meet him.
There are so many of these lesser known songs that are so beautiful. This one brings back such sweet memories. Thank you, Jimmy. You will always have a home in the millions of hearts you touched.
Uncle Jimmy, I hope you have found yourself a home in heaven, much well deserved, and I hope by now with time being passed you have found yourself some peace as well 😇
Ty Delaney and Buffett for doing this! Watching you tell your memories, play your guitars and sing your songs so naturally like you’re just the guy down the street playing for fun is fantastic! Can’t believe Covid shut us down but you 2 doing this was a beautiful idea.
These videos are superb. I feel its the true JB not the stage performer. Much more toned down as he's relaxed chatting with his wife and daughter. More reflective and quieter as opposed to his effervescent Beach stage persona. Lovely stories, so relaxed, thank you Jimmy and Delaney. RIP JB
Delaney - I am so glad you did this and have these memories and stories recorded for your family and all of his fans. I hope these memories provide you some comfort. I have lost a parent and know it's a special kind of pain. So sorry for your loss.
I hadn't thought of this song in a long time, but as soon as I glimpsed at the title, I knew it was perfect and that I must hear it. I don't know why I'm amazed to find how many people considered him family or friend, because it shouldn't have been a surprise. While I'm not happy so many are mourning the loss, it warms my heart to know I'm not alone. Saw him first August 6, 1974, at Electric Circus, Myrtle Beach, SC. Sat outside the entrance all day to be first in line to get a table right in front of the stage. A memory that I've treasured since, and always will. I personally connected to many of his songs and covers, either through lyrics and/or musically, or both. Hard to listen without breaking into a huge grin, even now. Hope you're bringing smiles to others on the heavenly ocean. I don’t think you'd be happy if you weren’t.
I named my first daughter Delaney thanks to Fruitcakes album. Thank you Jimmy. You will always be part of our lives. Thankful I was fins up in the crowd when you came through Virginia. Rest in peace brother!
Delaney, thank you so much for capturing and curating this wonderful series of videos. I have been listening to 3-4 videos per day since September 1st. It is amazing that your dad neither lost his voice nor his ability to say and sing words/lyrics that resonate with so many.
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you're a fan of Diane? Have a great day.. Stay Safe
Love stories about the path to iconic success! Met Jimmy in Palm Springs recently! He was genuine, open and sharing…a pleasure to connect with! ♥️🎸 #MikeJohnsonJazz
Hello, you gotta know how extremely grateful I am that you recorded your dad doing the background on his songs. It is my smile in my soul. Thank you from the bottom to the top of my heart.
Life is a journey, and he sure had a memorable one. I think he wanted to talk more about sailing to Turks and Caicos, and beyond. I definitely wanted to hear more.
Thanks so much. So many memories from the keys in the mid to late 1980’s traveling up & down listening to JB, scuba diving & snorkeling & watching the sunset at Mallory Square. This Parrotthead is approaching 60 & hubby is rounding 70. Traded our scuba gear in for a couple of Harleys but loved those days in the sun!
Back in the 70's and 80's rent was so cheap 50 bucks...100 bucks...we all would jump around from place to place just move in 50 bucks....no deposits dogs & friends ok......beach 100 foot steps away...or a couple of miles...wonderful times..
God bless you Jimmy Buffett and god bless your family. I was growing up in south Florida as your carrier was beginning and you your music and your way of being has influenced my life in many positive ways. Thank you my friend You have found your home RIP😢
