His duet with Zac Brown "Knee Deep" there is a line that Jimmy says that really hit home with me and makes me tear up every time I hear it, "wrote a note, said be back in a minute, bought a boat and I sailed off in it, don't think anybody's gonna miss anyway". Sir you are so wrong....I miss you every day. RIP Jimmy, I hope that it is always 5 o'clock for you.

I loved Jimmy Buffett and saw him many times over the years. We saw him at Gilley’s in Pasadena Texas. His album A1A had just come out, my friend Michael Betker bedazzled a shirt with A1A on the back. We were two tables away from the stage, Jimmy saw the shirt and insisted he had to have it. One of our other friends had a shirt on over a t-shirt so she gave it to Michael so he could give Jimmy the shirt. He was a phenomenally talented individual not only was he a great musician and songwriter, he was also a very successful author and a shrewd businessman. What a loss.

Hah, remember the “good ol days” when tickets weren’t $100+ a pop? More power to him if he can command those prices and still fill the venues. I still like his songs, just long for the simpler times as an old man is want to do. I first saw Jimmy and Jerry Jeff in Tuscaloosa, AL back it the 70s. I think “Fingers” was there too, but that was about it and you know what? That was all they needed back then. Just an old man reminiscing...

It's kind of funny that you say "in his prime". I always thought that his prime was the mid-seventies. That's when he started trying to shed his country reputation and pretend that he was a sailor. It made him a whole lot of money.

Saw a deer walking through my city neighborhood the minute I clicked this so had to subscribe. That means we are getting enough food the deer aren’t hunted to extinction and it was just walking along listening to the music. History stories are great and his music is some of my favorite music history to study. My music appreciation teacher featured his music. Some of us parrotheads that never got to see a live show but are fans, watched many online, and buy the merch and eat at Lulu’s every chance we get and would love to retire to margaritaville or somewhere sunny are appreciative of you and Mac and the band’s contribution to great music and good times. This is one of the best ones he sang but they are all great! We won’t wear a frown as much as we can in memory of his music.

The one , the only, the great, started at 19 almost 50, now enjoying this music. Nothing beat being there in person when I was 40! And then for those who like to read he’s quite the author. Will really make ya wanna sell everything and move to Caribbean!

I always loved this song. Being a fan since I was a tween in the mid-70s, as we lived and sailed on the bay across the street from our house, I loved this song! But the over 40 victim of fate seemed like to infinity! Now I am that over 40 victim of fate many times over. Love you, Jimmy!

My uncle's favorite song. They played this song on the beach at a beautiful ceremony as a tribute to him. Margarita next to his ashes and all. Heres to you; Miss you Lee. I hope you are in your sloop somewhere in the sky.

I just turned 40. My friends threw me a small party. We are all hardcore parrotheads. So everyone sang this while my wife played the ukulele instead of happy birthday.
