  • Hello everyone, welcome to another kiln opening. I made a mistake at the begining of the video. There is a photo that has nothing to do with what i'm talking about but only last a few seconds. Having said that this was a great kiln opening for me. I'm trying new glazes and getting out of the rut of making the same pots over and over.
Mayco glazes are working great for what i'm trying to accomplish.
I'd like to thank Mary for coming over and helpng out. She is getting her feet back into the water and I can't wait to see her works of art.

Thanks so much for sharing this. Your creations are so gorgeous. I'm new and this teaches me some things about glaze. I appreciate it.

Thanks for sharing your kiln opening! I have used Oatmeal by itself and mine always come out more yellow than your beiges. I also hope Ancient Copper Amaco comes back!

Thanks for watching. I do like the way oatmeal comes out for me. It has been a go to glaze for sure. They have to find a way to get Ancient Copper back in the line up.

Great Kiln opening! Everything was beautiful. Do you have a video on your glazing process? Would love to see it. The foot of your pieces are so clean and the glaze stays put. Do you use cookies under each piece?

Thank you, I am going to make a video on glazing after my next bisque fire. I use a damp microfiber cloth to clean the bottom of my pots. So far the only ones that run have been with flux glazes. It was my fault for painting to far down or putting to many coats on.

Beautiful! Did you use a paint brush to put your 3 coats of glaze on? Or did you sponge it or just dip it? Thnx

Thank you, I used #4 and #8 brushes for the heavier applications. For something like the figures on the pot with handles I used really small brushes to apply the 3 coats.

Great kiln load and beautiful glaze combos. What clay are you using?
